Anomaly 2
Developer 11 bit studios
Anomaly 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Anomaly Warzone Earth. Maintaining the core elements of the original, Anomaly 2 adds plenty of new features: unit morphing, over million tactical combinations, post-apo world and tower defense vs tower offense multiplayer mode. Clicking troops in a monotonous spree, In this world where thrill just cannot be. Double-click, repeat, a mindless chore, In a game where excitement's truly poor. Boring and bland, its colors fade, In the gaming world, where it's dismayed. Anomaly, a title devoid of glee, In its lackluster realm, no adventure to see. Boring and bland,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't know why, but for some reason I really can't get into any of the Anomaly games. After playing for an hour or two I loathe to boot the game up. Maybe it's because the gameplay focus is on managing power-ups instead of strategising team composition. Maybe it's because a big part of the game is managing your route, but the maps are quite straightforward, constrained, and linear. Or maybe it's because the games offer no mid-mission save, but the missions take 30 minutes or more.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly 2 fixes everything Anomaly Warzone Earth did wrong. This is a game of strategy. Your vehicles have specific strengths and weaknesses. Enemy towers have specific strengths and weaknesses. You must plan ahead to know which vehicles will be best against the upcoming towers. All vehicles can also morph between two modes, vastly increasing the strategic abilities. I also appreciate how several levels added unique mechanics to somewhat mix up the monotony of shooting towers. One level…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoyed the first game, you will like this one as well, it's just more Anomaly. Worth playing. One gripe that I have to mention for this game, and only because this one in particular is a fairly extreme case, are the achievements. I'm an achievement hunter, and I'm pretty much a "single player games" only kind of person. Tons of games have single player, but also have multiplayer, and multiplayer achievements go with that territory, so, there are inevitably games that I will never…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Iam a player for a reason i want to play a game, this game doesnt let you. it wants you to follow orders and lines, up to if you do you can only sucess. there is no game in this one its to linear and to strict by not letting you do anything the way you would like to
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i genuinely enjoyed the free flash game one level tower defenses more than whatever this is. first of all there is way too much handholding in every level they are just forcing you to play the game how they intended it to be played instead of letting you get creative and figure out what the most efficient way is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love love first game in this series and have many hours on it. I was little scared to play this because maybe it would not be good but I am very happy to say that I was wrong. This is great game just like first one is! Awsome graphic, great gameplay and ok story too. And not too hard and not too easy. It's ton of fun to figure out what vehicle you need for mission and how handle it. Only bad thing is that controls in keyboard are not that good but it is not too bad to make game unplayble.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a bad game, it's actually ok. It has better graphics then the first Anomaly. It has 14 missions, this time with no difficulty spikes. It has some new unit types, while the enemies are basically the same. I don't recommend it simply because it's somewhat bland. The first Anomaly (Warzone Earth) was better. The story was more tense and the idea of a reverse Tower Defense was still original. This game brings nothing new. The only change is that this time around your units can morph…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →didnt work for a long time, years actually and I've a good machine. Finally works for some unknown reason, didnt do anything. How ever, crashed after changing settings. Cut scenes are hella anoying, take every time controlls out of your hands and let you wait or you skip them, very boring way of telling a story. First missions are stupid and annoying tutorial missions with rumbling cut scenes, extreamly bland and frustrating. Controls are annoying AF, and you can even get stuck with your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a neat premise but refuses to let the player engage in any of their own thought about problem solving. The first mission, is a tutorial. This, is of course to be expected and is fine. But then the second level is a tutorial, and really the third is too. The amount of hand holding is unnecessary for a game where the main 'puzzle' for the player is figuring out the best way to deal with the various enemy towers in the most efficient way. As routes are by design restricted, tactic…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could be fun. However the controls suck and the units are moronic. 1: For some reason when I move the camera with the mouse then try to do something else it snaps back to the engineer which is almost game breaking confusing. 2: I can't select an item from pause... with the game snapping the screen back to the engi and having to more or less precisely click on a square on the top left (because of the snap crap) it makes for enormous frustration. 3: Moronic targeting for the units…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm 13 levels in now... Even on normal difficulty, the game difficulty isn't balanced well. 1-7 are easy, 8 is a brick wall. Then 9-12 are easy, then 13 has movement traps that effectively make you have to start over the level. All of this could have been avoided with shorter levels or at the very least manual save points. l'll finish the game, but I haven't really enjoyed it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is more of the same, and I don't mean that in a bad way. If you enjoyed the original game, you'll enjoy this one. I didn't, and the same here for the same reasons.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Advertises as a strategy game and then demands you have twitch reaction times to towers that invalidate over half your roster
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly 2 is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as an opportunistic cash grab. It's an iOS ported "tower defense"/convoy escort/routing game where you steer a convoy of armed trucks through the streets of Baghdad, avoiding meteors that crash into the road and fending off waves of alien attackers. The plot seems to be a bit of a ripoff of Crysis, only the game isn't nearly as good. While the graphics are okay and there's a bit of polish, remarkable for a mobile app, the mobile heritage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does a pretty good job of continuing to subvert the Tower Defense genre. Unfortunately, unforgiving controls and quick countdowns to failure make it more twitchy than tactical. You might be into that, though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the previous Anomaly games, you control a convoy of military vehicles navigating a city overrun with alien turrets, basically a reverse tower defense where you control the creeps. In addition to choosing the units and giving them a route, you can pause the game and rearrange the unit order at any time, AND new to this game, the vehicles are all transformers and can be switched between two forms with different weapons and powers. There are also nifty new handling features, like if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this for free, yet got bored a few missions in. The game is like reversed tower defense with a story, but the gameplay is boring. I played on Hardcore difficulty yet the only difficulty seemed to be outlasting the long blahblahblah dialogue and transforming your units in time to be able to repair the others in time while being able to distract the bigger aliens in time. Learn the rhythm and necessary troops to complete mission, rinse and repeat. Dialogues didn't seem to be skippable,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fine, played it a little
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the mobile Anomaly games are more fun, its not just running around towers to kite fire and swapping ships around to keep the front row healthy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →better graphics, better action & gameplay. has multiplayer this time Captain Poise instead of Captain Price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the original, but they completely ditched controller support. Bought it as a bundle foolishly thinking the sequels would be similar, and I'm years past the refund stage, so this review is just a warning to anyone else about to make the same mistake.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played about half the levels in this, and it started okay, not great, but a reasonably diverting time killer. But then the levels get longer and longer and more and more convoluted, and they throw in new towers that are just incredibly annoying to deal with. It reaches the point of just being completely tedious. You look at the layout of a mid-game level at the starting planning stage, and it's just so many areas, so many roads, so many bunched up towers that are going to require hours of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly 2, developed and published by 11 bit studios, is a confident and ambitious continuation of the studio’s distinctive take on the tower defense genre. Rather than refining an already safe formula, the game deliberately doubles down on what made the original Anomaly: Warzone Earth unusual, pushing its “tower offense” identity further with deeper mechanics, greater tactical flexibility, and a broader scope. The result is a strategy game that feels both demanding and inventive, asking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A variation of the tower defense genre where you have to destroy the tower ot protect your convoy. Just not as much fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you havent played any of the Anomaly Games before then you might like this but if you know how the general controls work etc then its just way to slow paced with explaining old facts.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Annoying Gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sequel to Anomaly Warzone Earth. Apparently, things went REALLY bad after the first game. The aliens returned and humanity is on the verge of defeat/extinction. Decent. Might want to get on discount.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the original Anomaly when it first came out and loved it despite not being able to beat it because it was so tough. It kind of deterred me from playing the sequel but all these years later, I wanted to give it a try since this series is so unique. Anomaly is a tower offense game meaning you control the vehicles destroying the towers by setting up your convoy and using special abilities when fit to do so. It's a really interesting twist and despite these games being over 10 years old…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played much so I might change this review if I go through more later. So far this game barely gets a recommend with a score of 6/10. It's advertises itself as Reverse Tower Defense but it's more like Train Escort. You guide a line of troops. Each unit/train-car has two different modes of fire. These modes of fire range from close range and sniper to dual flame throwers and a gatling gun that builds attack speed by attacking up to a certain point. All the while the line of…

My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent tower offense game, it comes with new features in every level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, the game is the same as the first part, which was a good game. Changes compared to the last part are minimal - transforming units, different skills. The picture is nice, the dynamics are excellent. Excellent Tower Defense on the contrary.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont know, this is one where I wish there was a 'Mixed' review option. I don't want to give it a rate down but I couldn't get into this game at all, it just didn't hold my interest. And looking back at some of the reviews, I'm not alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly 2 is a solid game. It has fantastic graphics, sounds, and the story, for a tower defense (offense) game, is actually relatively interesting. The voice acting is still a bit comical as it was in the original game. Anomaly 2 sought to reinvent their own game with new additions such as morphing units. This effectively makes it easier to manage your units since you have a smaller number to think about, but each unit morphs into a completely different version. This was definitely a big…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Same as the first one, just prettier and with more toys. Sadly, the little infantryman is back :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent. Just excellent. I remember my dad playing these games with me when I was a kid, and it still sticks. The reverse tower defense genre that 11bit thought of here is super innovative, and the graphics are advanced but not so advanced you need a whole-ass ASUS PC to play it. The morphing mechanic is always handy, so I don't need to constantly struggle with unit placement. Certainly a step up from Warzone Earth. 9/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sequel starts off very bleak: everything that was done in the first game (and Anomaly Korea for that matter) was useless, the aliens have plunged Earth into a new Ice Age, and the original player character dies at the end of the first mission. The early part is nicely integrated with the story, as the introductory mission is followed by a few set in virtual reality, with a new commander quickly training before being thrown into a baptism of fire. The level of strategy is greatly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only played for ~1 hour but so far the game consisted only of tutorials with a lot of hand holding and basically zero decision making. Just heal your units when they are heavily damaged. That is not engaging gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is really fun to play i still need to play the multiplayer aspect of the game if there is anyone out there that plays this game then you welcome to play with me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't even launch the game, it just creates an empty window.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another great one Yet another good instalment from the devs, reverse tower defence, very enjoyable. the story is as usual stupid. but who cares, well made, zero crashes, zero bugs. worth a play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not to bot bad of game but it dont play linux unless proton or good old WINE. or form your win box.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea overall, but when on the first level there is much more nonsense talk than gameplay... Its not my cup of tea I guess. Kinda bland and boring, a lot of people talking non stop cheesy stuff. Feels like cheap ass game I played in armorgames back in the day.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended to Tower Defense fans. This game approaches the genre from a wholly different angle and offers a unique experience. Also worth pointing out that it has significant improvements over the first game - Anomaly: Warzone Earth. And brand new features that weren't seen before in this franchise, such as multiplayer mode. The only complaints I have, are about the relatively short campaign and long wait times for multiplayer queue.
