49 of 49 · most liked firstHere is my fair assessment review of Ancient Farm: Read closely at the tags as well as the description of the game to know what the game is versus what it is not. This is not a survival game. There is no combat, no health and stamina, no food meter nor day and night cycle. Initially I was put off by this as I prefer survival games. However, I enjoy building, crafting, farming, and Ancient Egypt. This isn't Medieval Dynasty or Stardew Valley. I played for 70 minutes. Turned it off and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game I suppose, but some very off-putting things about it. #1 it will want you to water your crops every "cycle" this is 6 minutes without any kind of speeding up added, obviously less if you use the speed up buttons. You do not have to water every cycle, but if you do not, yields go down each cycle. #2 selling things causes the prices to go down drastically, not just at your next sale, but during the current sale. You sell 100 items, the first 10 are at full price and down from there to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to give this a good review, I really like the idea and part of the execution.. but there are some serious quality of life problems that need to be addressed before I can change my vote. Ancient Egyptians used the Nile for farming, you're next to the river in this game, but there is no flooding, no fertile soil.. you may think ok, design liberties, no big deal, but as you get deeper into the game, this becomes a game breaking problem. Pretty soon you're doing one thing, over and over,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not the greatest game has promise but not up to scratch not real that good cant make seed and you spend 80% of the time just standing around watering not real farm, medieval dynasty has much better farming mekainics
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its not that the game isn't fun or doesn't work, but at 12hrs in game play i'm already able to start building a Temple which is already the hardest / most expensive to get, other then the trader, you interact with no one, player or NPC. and your limited to your little spot on the river
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has good bones, I actually am enjoying it - that said, there are lacking features and I can see why there are negative reviews. Pros: - Beautiful with lovely music. - The visual style is very atmospheric and there has definitely been some effort to make things look appropriate for the period. - The building, farming and merchant are fun. - There's a lot you can do - there are a lot of buildings and types of crafting, like 4 types of material you can make. Cons: - No survival…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The strangest farming system I could imagine: you buy wheat seed from the merchant, plant it, harvest it and you get wheat. Which in itself is a seed. But no. To replant it you need to buy wheat seed from the merchant again. The same with all other crops, except for fruit trees, grapes and coffee which are shrubs. Bizarre. The same with livestock: you buy calves from merchant and they grow into cows. No matter how long you keep them, they will never breed. You have to butcher them for meat and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this game as is. It is important to read that first sentence carefully. I see that this game has a lot of potential, but as it is, the game is not what it claims to be. It is not, Casual. The hallmark of a casual game is the lack of time pressure. You can relax and do what you want at your own pace. This game is not that game, at the moment. If it were in EA, I'd give a simple suggestion to the developers that, if they were to implement it, would allow this game to be THAT…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Continuing to review indie games. I really want to like this game. Its still very early, and I don't know if I'd consider this a complete game yet. I mean technically it is I guess, kind of a solo Egyptian sim game. But there is very limited interaction with any other characters (basically just the boat people), no survival mechanic (doesn't have to have one but i feel like not having the option is a missed opportunity), just a free builder that you have to collect resources for. Not a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun take on the farming sim, I like all things Egypt and farming so this was pleasant to jump into. I spent over an hour and a half just going through the tutorial so this is something that you could spend a decent amount of time in. Music was pleasant and the world fit the feel of being next to the Nile. But if you really want to see what the gameplay is like you need to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/live/HvAFxN32o1c Couple of notes: -Everything is prefab, even the animal…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neutral review really, but thumbs down because it's not the experience I was hoping to find: Basically cookie clicker in 3D. Can be fun (I've clicked a fair share of cookies too), but not what I'm looking for atm. Best of luck to the devs and I'll check again later!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the first few hours of the game you build and collect resources that you turn into products to make some money. Then it gets boring, you do the same thing over and over. You run from the the garden to the animals, the kitchen, etc. It's not really worth it.

unlabelledView post →Okay.. let me preface by saying I truly am addicted to this game. It's been a great low key casual experience. You're left alone in the middle of the desert... just you against the pigs.. and cows.. and whatever other animal crosses your path. Let me just say, "the sun sucks." I really love the unique take on the farming sim as we've become overran with the same game over and over.. I mean how many times is grandpa going to leave you a farm? I mean maybe he does here too. I don't know the back…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope. It took me only 3 hours to 100% this game, that's pretty telling. Absolutely not worth 15€. Without cheesing it, it would've been a few hours more of mindless money-grind, but doesn't really change anything. Maybe worth on sale for a bit of mindless running around, but don't expect too much. Positives: - Visuals are pretty nice - I like the concept of a more primitive simulation / farming game Negatives: - I can hardly call this a game. There's basically no content, and it seems the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A tech demo full of asset flips for 14.99. I have an idea for the next game from A2 Softworks. Shame Simulator
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First things first. The game looks pretty neat and plays well. However, it perhaps needs some support from an Egyptologist or archaeologist. For example, coffee or corn did not exist in ancient Egypt. While coffee originates from Ethiopia, there is no evidence that it was cultivated in Egypt. Corn comes from Middle America (as far as I know, it was not known in Africa before the 16th century). Also, the furnishing looks more like how a modern Western person would arrange their furniture. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Egypt isn’t usually the first place that comes to mind when you think of farming sims, but Ancient Farm asks, what if it was? Instead of modern tractors and sprinklers, you’re tending crops under the hot desert sun, relying on handmade tools and foraged materials. On paper, it sounds like the perfect twist on a well-loved genre: familiar farming mechanics wrapped in a unique historical setting. Ancient Farm left me feeling disappointed, mainly because I expected much more from its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not so much to say about the game, game has very less content and its been half a year almost and no new updates so looks like its dead. -Farming at the beginning is fun until you try expand your town a little bit and realize you are stuck without any help, even the ox is meh. -No way of upgrading your gear, unless you are buying from the merchant -you can collect and sell water very easy and exploiting this way of making money. -After finishing the final temple there is not anything more to do…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unsure if I review this game yet, i was so eager to play this I never looked to see if it would work with a controller at the moment it does not ,I am disabled and use a controller for my games .Well hopefully they will add a controller for us that can`t use keyboard
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have updated my initial review after spending more time in the game. Ancient Farm (AF) is a small game with no big ambitions. There are no important end goals other than building all buildings that are available. It is more about the road to get there that makes it fun to play. It also have a lot to offer if you like to “nerd” a bit keep statistics comparing different planting times, watering, fertilising and so on to try to optimise outputs while minimising effort. You have no needs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun idea and cool concept, but very little to actually do and the world is so tiny, no wild animals, no enemies, no day/night cycle. The game is gather-build-sell, theres no health or stamina no thirst, no multiplayer. very disappointing as seems like a really cool game. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Farm is a relaxing simulation game where you build up your own ancient Egyptian farm from nothing. I think it’s great fun for anyone who enjoys sandbox and farming-style games. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, with soothing music and ambience that never distract from gameplay. It did feel a bit bright visually (though I didn’t adjust settings), and the controls were slightly clunky at times — but not bad enough to ruin the experience. Overall, it’s a chill, satisfying farming sim…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would highly recommend this game it is truly beautiful and has great music, think Conan Exiles but without the combat and free building. it does feature building and light surface mining, it has trading and goods production that includes animal husbandry. as I said this is a very beautiful and relaxing game, could use some action but other than that it is a great game 10/10

unlabelledView post →Ancient Farm, developed by A2 Softworks and published by Ultimate Games S.A., PlayWay S.A., and Ultimate Publishing, is a farming simulator that attempts to stand out by shifting the familiar formula into an ancient, Egyptian-inspired setting. Instead of the usual pastoral countryside or modern agricultural backdrop, it places players in a more arid, historically themed environment where survival, cultivation, and gradual expansion are the primary goals. This change in setting gives the game an…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels missing a lot of things. Should have been early access or something. But game has lots of potential. I will share some suggestions here : - Items info panel should appear when mouseover items either in inventory or on trader's tab or main UI - Chickens should produce eggs - Ability to designate a farming zone - Seed Grid Size. when you pick seeds inside inventory , a tooltip appears with best sow season but no grid size is mentioned eg. (3x3, etc.) which means you have to equip the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Farm dropped on the 7th at 11pm PST, and here I am on the 10th with 26 hours played. This is a fun hands-on farming sim no automation, just you building everything from scratch. It's brand new, so expect more content and improvements down the line (new games always get better with updates). Even right now, it's a blast. I love the variety of crops you can grow: grains, veggies, fibers, papyrus, sugar cane, fruit trees and all the cooking you can do with them like bread, beer, and meals.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was interesting, keeps you busy, some of the crafting drags a bit
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the scrolls of the Old Kingdom, there is whispered a tale of a lone farmer standing against the desert’s hunger. Ancient Farm is that tale — not a saga of glory, but of grit. Not a triumph of heroes, but of hands blistered by the plow. It is a humble trial, yet one that any warrior may face to temper patience and discipline. The game asks you to build your farm from dust and stubbornness alone. Every furrow carved, every seed planted, every bucket of water hauled is done by your own will.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoy this game and recomend to all survival enthusiasts. Please DEVS let us configure the length of a cycle. In early game 7 minutes is fine but later it is just ridiculously short. At most a cycle should be real time, i.e. 24 hours - let the user decide what the time of a cycle should be PLEASE

unlabelledView post →Unless you get it on sale I don't recommend the game. The map is small and totally vacant, no wildlife or wild seeds. Buildings can't be stacked close to each other and farm plots need a good space away from the buildings and pens as well. And you can't breed the cattle, sheep or chickens, you have to rebuy the animals from the merchant and need to get blue prints to progress on any buildings at all. It got stale very fast.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i originally thought this game would be a low quality hastily made game but it actually is high quality and a lot of fun and pretty innovative. EDIT: still not bored of it 24 hours into the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Farm is a solid "build-farm-cultivate-process-sell" simulator that delivers a satisfying loop, even if it feels more like a late-development playtest than a fully polished release. The Good: The building designs are unique and stand out due to their highly detailed interiors. If you enjoy the methodical progression of expanding a farm and managing resources, there is plenty here to sink your teeth into. Animal husbandry, processing, and crafting are all well-represented. The livestock…
