60 of 117 · most liked firstI am unfortunately old enough that Time Pilot was probably my first ever game. What if they made Time Pilot in 2018? Here it is. Everyone loves roguelikes, right? You get to repeat the same levels over and over again every time you go home, just to get back to where you were before. Pretty much like an old arcade game, with that brutal difficulty topped with everything you "love" about modern gaming: crafting, grinding, a morality system, cutscenes, one gimmick, and some complete and utter…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In A Nutshell Airheart is a roguelike shooter telling the story of Amelia, a young pilot with the objective of reaching the stratosphere to capture a legendary whale, and honor the inheritance received by her father. The game world is made of several layers, and your home, Granaria, will be on the lowest one. From there, with your at first weak plane, you will need to go around each layer, catching fish to make money, avoiding or destroying progressively stronger enemies on each level, find…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On a flight Airheart is the story of Amelia, a young pilot and fisher woman who lives in a world among the clouds, Amelia fishes through dangerous skies collecting scrap in order to upgrade her plane and avoiding pirates all in the hope of one day making the catch of a lifetime and you are tasked with guiding Amelia on her journey. That’s really as deep as the game got in the time that I spent with it but that’s all you really need to keep motivated in order to move forward within the game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only have time for a short session tonight and since there isn't much feedback for the game yet I thought I should give a quick impression. (I ended up going back to the game for another hour and a half) The game is a very charming twin stick shooter. I keep getting too greedy and dying instead of retreating so I haven't progressed past the third level (now fourth), but I was having fun the whole time. Game play is basically flying around gathering flying fish for oil and blowing up enemy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and very beautiful game. It takes some getting used to the flight controls but once you've got the hang of it it is easy to use. Different types of guns make the game engaging and gives it a level of difficulty as not every stronger/faster gun is really better, same goes for the different plane types. The AI seems pretty straight forward and is surprisingly difficult as well. What the game lacks a bit is controls such as being able to change key bindings or difficulty settings but it's in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game basically doesn't have a feeling of flying fast, because this is a top-down shooter, so the plane seems like not flying but rather just floating during main tasks which are fighting pirates or fishing. Besides, somehow enemy planes are pretty hard at even the first area. That's why the game cannot give an exhilarating feeling at all that is usually hoped for shooting games, it gradually discourages us to grind. And then, the crafting system also sucks. I can't believe to be forced to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game made by an Indie developer, Very polished and enjoyed every minute of it, my only gripe is that the game is too short, I think I took a shortcut (by not buying all the items) unknowingly and finished the game too fast. All in all, a great game to try on stream, love the concept and will be looking forward to whatever this developer makes in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdUXACFDifQ Well I mean it's a recommendation if you can get past the fact that Airheart doesn't explain the simple things and has a really slow start. That said I enjoyed it but I did everything in my power to not crash. The harpoon gun is a blast to use and can stick to anything. Even pulling parts off other ships, awesome! It's the best part of the game. If you can get past the slow start and don't mind the setbacks if you do crash then…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice game! I love the vibe. Really nice concept and art work and that's what is the most important for me - other stuff can be still polished during early access. Tutorial would be useful, but I managed to get the rules pretty fast. Also - good work with the music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just so damn grindy and unfulfilling. If I had to pinpoint one major issue, I'd have to say it's the rewards not matching the effort. You can go catch a bunch of fish with the fish radar and get tons of money, easy and boring and slow, or go fully armed up against some shielded enemies, shoot up the skies, survive by the skin of your teeth... For two pieces of scrap. So much potential, but in the end, it bellyflops like a plane with broken landing gear.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes the game is dead. Yes it's still worth the buy (on sale) My biggest discomforts: - Weapons are wonky with only a few decent options but that doesn't matter because you'll just craft the completely broken one and beat the game with it anyways. No updates :c Nothing is explained. The game tells you nothing, not even where to find the ingredients. It is very much a trial and error. There is a huge crafting system but it's so broken and confusing. Can't use it properly unless you want…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun and fast arcade style shooter with a nice story. You start with a basic ship and as you find/hunt/battle for resources, money, and parts so you can craft and upgrade your way to a killer ship to venture further into the world and ultimately find the big boss monster. The game play is a lot of fun and can get quite addictive but I do have two major complaints.... Firstly- the targeting is for controllers only. If you try and play it with a keyboard and a mouse like I did you will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Word on the street was that this was originally a Luftwaffe training program back in the 40’s 👀 Just kidding! It’s actually a wonderful little title about piloting a makeshift plane from your home in Granaria all the way up through levels separated by earth’s atmosphere. Pretty neat idea. Although repetitive in nature, between overfishing entire levels for cash (essentially killing the ecosystem, but you know, profit) and crafting (many-a-time illogical) weapons, you can get a good amount of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The wide variety of roguelite games out there have been permeated by top down twin stick shooters for a long time. There are a number of choices when it comes to the combination of these two genres. They range from bog standard to very distinct and the quality of gameplay can vary even more within that. While I always welcome some shakeups with games that fall in to this relatively common category, some changes and additions can go too far and ultimately become a detriment to the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a great game with a lot of potential and I enjoyed every minute so far. I really can't wait to see what this game will become and offer in the future. Even though it's early access, it doesn't feel or rather look/sound like one at all. The graphics are refined and the music just fits perfectly (props to that, great work done here!). The mechanics feel very fluent and are easily understood, which allows a fast immersion into the gameplay. Of course the content might be a bit short…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very pretty looking game with a completely different rougelike feel to it. So far I have really enjoyed it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeh, its fun. You will know within the span of the tutorial if you enjoy this game and want to keep playing. The crafting mechanics are fun and the ship customisation is interesting. Those don't hold a candle to the music, the feeling of the controls and the lovely cut scenes/ scenery.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely one of the most innovated and original game's I have ever played. Bravo everyone should give this game a go around, you will not be disappointed. Fly shoot down air pirates fish heck this game has it all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute, very atmospheric game. It's hard to describe, but the skyscape and the music just evoke a feeling I haven't gotten from many other games; of lonliness and adventure, anticipation and hope.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite industry inundation of roguelite shooters, AIRHEART: Tales of Broken Wings offers a series of uncommon features accompanied by a remarkable grade of polish that should renew interest within those fatigued by the genre. I offer no apologies for the following pun, only for the cliché: Blindflug Studios’ offering here soars above the competition. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the look of Airheart, and the gameplay seemed ok, but here is my expereince with the first 30 minutes: Played tutorial until it asked me to harpoon something, but didn't explain how, no keybind in settings so I had to lookup the manual. Found I HAD used harpoon, but the targets didn't exist so I skipped the end. Played around for about 10 minutes, upgraded once, but then pickedup a random weapon that didn't have any explaination; It one shot me (yes, my own weapon) - crashed and had my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such an awesome game! I played it for about an hour now and I'm very much impressed. I love the game idea, the crazy setting (I mean fishes in the air - come on!), the music and the whole atmosphere. The flight mechanics are tricky and I'll have to train my skills (and maybe buy a decent gamepad). Nevertheless the gameplay is really smooth right from the start and it's such fun to fly and leave some chemtrails in the air.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →felt like a good deal at$5. just look up crafting recipes, the guessing system is not fun. took about five hours to beat. grappling hook to rip bits off enemies is fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very grindy and lacks a story. There isn't much motivation to get to the top.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An awesome dieselpunk action rogue-like twin stick shooter that is challenging yet a lot of fun to play and has a ton of charm and solid core gameplay. It is slow to start as there is a bit of a learning curve and it takes a bit of getting used to the controls (a controller is an absolute must with this one). Thankfully, once you get the hang of it, flying is very fun and the scenery quite pretty and colorful. Cash is pretty slow to accumulate as the lower levels have fish that are worth less…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airheart is a really neat game with a unique and cool world to fly in. You fly planes up to new sky layers above and fish flying fishes while shooting up pirates and trying not to get killed. There's crafting too and it's done in a neat and interesting way. It's a roguelite kind of game where you can upgrade and craft between play sessions and there is a permadeath that can be very punishing if you've put a lot of time into your game because you lose everything. As far as the graphics and art…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it needs a few adjustments when it comes to keyboard controls. But that aside it has the potential become a true gem!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the colors and the design of this game, it is so cheerful and just gives me pleasure. It is almost a pity that the further you go, the less time you have to look out for all the nice details like the colorful trees and the cute fishes because of your attackers. The multitasking piloting and shooting is a bit tricky for me (I’m not such a good gamer), but nevertheless it never gets boring or annoying. You can discover many different things and it’s never exactly the same. Definitely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great and super fun game with intense combat high in the air. The way you can customize your plane and choose your weapons works really fine. Also it's really great, that the game now features different sets of cotrols with relative and absolute steering! Thx!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not for you if you like your games easy: The enemies will take your name and laugh at your pitiful airplane. 11 / 10 - would buy it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →37) The protagonist of Airheart: Tales of Broken Wings. This was such a comfy but often challenging game that I needed in my life at the time. And at the center of it all is a wonderful tomboy pilot mechanic reaching for the highest skies.
unlabelledView post →I played this game for hours to make absolutely sure it would never get any better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Small little game that can be enjoyed if it was purchased on sale.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice game but completely unplayable in 3840x1080, half of the screen is cut off, even after chaning resolution in game I can't see the bottom 1/4th of the screen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool world, good fighting mechanics, nice skill-based death penalties (up to permadeath), and awesome crafting system
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The exploration of the monotonous and lacking levels are aided by the repetitive nature of the game in creating an empty experience
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming short game worth playing! I have cleared the game in 8 hours. You complete the game by flying in the sky collecting some resources (spare parts from "donors" you shoot down) as well as fish and oil barrels. When you come home the fish is automatically sold and the resources goes to a little minigame where you guess the parts needed to build something. I do recommend reading the tutorial as well as the manual for this, the minigame gets alot better if you understand its mechanics,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would previously have warned the non-hardcore rogue-like lovers to avoid this game. It has a slow progression that really rewards you for playing, however it had a permadeath that removed ALL progress. The developers quickly responded to community feedback and provided a new game mode that removes the perma death. Wonderful game and wonderful developer response~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I loved this game. A few aspects could have been better, like once you craft something it'd be nice to see its recipe so you know what you need to get. But other than that, this is a simplistic overhead view shooter game with some role playing and crafting elements that I loved. It didn't take but maybe 10 hours or so to beat the game but I enjoyed every minute. 10/10 would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airheart is worth a look if you like the arcade game Time Pilot as it uses a very similar control scheme. The game offers lots of shooting with some loot gathering and crafting thrown in. The game is pleasant to look at and I found it pretty fun. The difficulty was steep, but an easier difficulty has just been added.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edited. I didn't like this because you lost everything if you died. I posted a review saying so. The developer responded (below) to say that yeah, a few people had said the same, so they've added a new difficulty level where your purchased items remain after death. I now recommend this, both because it's fun, and because the developers are actively listening and responding to the community. Dalbar, I salute you. So - new review - this is pretty good fun, and very pretty. If you like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm 5 hours into the game and while I loved my time with it, I've to say I have not progressed as much as I would like. The game has enjoyable gameplay features air combat with harpoons, shotguns, rockets, flamethrowers, etc. Crafting + some abilities like smoke that slows enemies, and others that I dissapointedly couldn't get cus this game is really annoying in the sense that you can die and lose all your progress. And progress is slow, this would not have been a problem if the enemies didn't…

Besides that, The game has a great beginning story that takes place and does a great Job giving you everything you need to know. You set a part as a Flight activists Daughter that attempts to find the family story and attempt to catch the biggest fish in the sky, but at the same time fighting against nasty Sky Pirates to keep your goods! Pros: 1. Great…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airheart, while rough on the edges and still a little clunky to manage while not flying it has a huge potential to be a time eater deluxe :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the time of writing this game crashes regularly and has performance issues. Yet it is so engaging that I have spent 20+ hours on it. As a father of a mischievous 2 year old I appreciate that combat is low key enough I can pause at any time and how short play sessions still feel like I am building up to something. The weapon and ship upgrades in this game are varied enough that buying a new component unlocks a different style of play rather than just a stat boost that will allow you to engage…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the graphics and the overall look and feel of the game. It can be played right away without any complex settings to learn. But it is possible to enhance your airplane with tons of new features like wings, propeller and guns. I have played it with keyboard, and I am very happy about the new option of relative control for the plane. Before I had big trouble flying and shooting at the same time. I really hope there will be a save game option, because I ususally only play ten minutes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WOW, Twin-Stick Shooters are hard, if you're not used to it. But that one here is very colourful an entertaining. In a few points, you see that it is only a early access game, but come on, where would the status "early access" be today, if the game is already polished and nearly finish. So in the end: definitely worth the price to get a sweet game and to participate on the future development process
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fairly basic pick up and play game with lots of extra little mechanics to try and keep things interesting. Fun enough for a 20 minute session here and there on the Steam Deck as a deep sale game. Ideal for Deck: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43052238-Ideal-for-Deck/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just engaging enough. Just relaxing enough. Just pretty enough. The flying and the crafting are both reasonably fun. The story proves light but does the job to add a bit of emotional depth. And the graphical style is distinct and appealing. One recommendation: don't play the iron-man mode. I lost a deep save to what felt like a bug on a later level. Treat the experience with the chill it deserves, like slowly coasting through a blue sky on a bright, clear day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest I was surprised by this game. I was expecting a game with 1-1.5 hours gameplay duration but I invested more into it without any second thoughts! + The upgrade mechanism can be a bit challenging from time to time very well designed. + Overall visual effects and map designs are just beautiful. Nothing more to add. + Music and sound is nice, allowing you to get into the mood. - Game needs your full attention to improve. You can not just casually be better at this game. It is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this little game, I'm almost glad it wasn't too long as I keep losing time to it 😅
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool, fun, love it. It feels polished and I love the art style. Certain controls take some getting used to but I think they can be reconfigured? Gets pretty challenging at higher levels!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airheart is a fun twin-stick shooter that is beginner-friendly, but has an option for them who wants a challenge. It has a nice story and very neat on the audial part as well. Overall, it is a nice little game which might bring you joy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game! I will say it is a bit too grindy, and even though I was enjoying the cute story I wasn't able to finish due to how difficult/grindy it is. But I really enjoyed it otherwise, its still fun and the art is absolutely gorgeous.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. The whole idea and story, everything. Just awesome. The only thing I don't like is the crafting system. It's way too tedious and boring. I hate it. Other than that, amazing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unexpectedly a very nice game, hard enough (until you craft a lockgun though), awesome soundtrack, simple mechanics. Craft is a bit random, but eh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics are solid from what I've played so far of it, but the music upon the 3rd level I don't think fits very well with the visuals of the game. The crafting system, like Minecraft's, is also hard to learn without the guide. In all ado, this is pretty solid and fun on Hard mode!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very solid experience... Not a particularly long one (I cleared it in under 6 hours), but a good one. Nice mix of an original twist on bullet-hell with a splash of survival/rpg crafting-progression mixed in. There's some issues... it really could use either a manual or longer tutorial... certain stuff you're just expected to figure out on your own because there's no in-game explanation for it (which is especially bad when there's no way to figure out something damages you without slamming into…
