Very similar, a few years newer, and more realistic.

The entire franchise. Act of War: Direct Action had elements I never saw in Command and Conquer. For example, entering buildings was new but you had to first destroy the building or clear the enemy out before re-capturing it. A lot of times once the enemy had it, you couldn't take it from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in the day, it wasn't unusual for expansions to RTS games to increase the difficulty of their solo campaign so I wasn't completely shocked when High Treason started kicking my ass from the start. It took me a while to realize why, however. The AI for friendly units is completely borked. Without direct instructions units seem, as often as not, to become entirely passive. Indeed this sometimes happens to the enemy AI, as well. I've seen countless instances where the two were simply standing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the game very much back in the day it was released so I bought 2 copies on Steam since the game seems to have LAN multiplayer to play with my friend. We used Hamachi and wanted to play... but apparently LAN dosent work in this game as we didnt see each other in LAN game list. Suffice to say I wasted money on this and I cannot recommend it, seeing how they managed to broke such a simple thing as LAN functionality in a game whose normal boxed version has normal working LAN MP SMALL…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll preface this with this: I play RTSs for the single player cause i'm a casual fan and bad at them. I've beat AOW a few times on standard (easy) and never had to cheat. Inb4 hurr durr git gud. No. This game uses different voice actors (confusing), has no FMV cutscenes, is buggy, and is insanely more difficult than the previous game even on standard. 90% of missions refuse to give you base defenses AND a prison/hospital to generate $ from POWs. The enemy will bum rush with sizable…

And that's how the game is played when we go into a TrumpRecession and TrumpDepression. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd-F...
unlabelledView post →So i sold a CS:GO skin for this game and i want to say it's really good although servers are dead you can still play through Hamachi. I love every single bit of it :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is alright, but the campaign is incredibly difficult to the point of almost not being fun, even on the easiest setting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AWESOME! I thought that I would never play this game again due to my CD copy not working or installing on a modern system. However this Version on STEAM works perfectly with my modern system and OS, i guess they made a mini patch. Great fun and Memories for a great price! :) runs on 1920x1080 and looks great :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such an underrated gem and I wished the series was treated better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoyed C/C Generals, you'll love this game. Polished graphics, tough AI and a few other sweet add on's make this one a dandy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow up on Act of War: Direct action Modern warfare base building RTS. Great long single player campaign with good story line - C&C style Some new units - in particular naval combat - that is interesting The main issue I have with this game is the high number of bugs and the poor mission design. Most mission are no fun to play. Very frustrating map designs and scripting events. Certain units and buildings in missions are disabled - just to make the missions harder and more frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my absolute favorite games EVER!!! I wish they made more like this and kept it in the modern/real world type of genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game killed C&C for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit: This game is for those who can take the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from the storyline missions, even on normal mode. You should have some basic RTS skill to really go on, or you'd get destroyed by the A.I., apart from that, it could be a fun experience, I sure as hell didn't have it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is such a nostalgia, I was disappointed when I couldn't launch it on Windows 8 by the time of 2014, but now it's so wonderful to look back at it, it can run smoothly on windows 10 now! I really appreciate developer's work!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played all the Command and Conquer games when I stumbled upon Act of War: High Treason and read through the reviews I decided to give it a shot,Act of War: High Treason is very similar to Command & Conquer Generals, it's also surprisingly cheap at £1.99.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Позорище. Издевательски долгие загрузки для игры которой 20 лет. В середине кампании у меня начал полностью пропадать звук в игре, а новые задания в миссии просто перестали появляться из-за чего я даже миссию закончить не могу.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic RTS in the style of C&C - Reminds me a lot of Red Alert. Good game. Good skirmish mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent story Wish there was more games like this, or a much needed remaster had a few problems like the sound muted for no reason, overall still a great game for its age id recommend this game 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dated, but all good, enemy AI is rubbish!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun RTS. Requires some work to get the game to run on Win 10, and has mouse issues as well as being unable to run correctly on dual monitor systems. Still, a great RTS worth buying for $10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →go ahead and just staple my nuts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This expansion saddens me it runs poorly and isn't as good as the original. I still had fun with it though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gold Expansion Pack Act of War High Treason Part 2 Act of War Direct Action Final Complete
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the story. Some of the missions were a bit difficult... But over all lot of fun. And ending was hilarious to me lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you love Red Alert 2 and Command and Conquer Generals, then you will love this game a lot! This game was made in the RTS glory era and it's what you expect of an old school RTS! This was one of the last great RTS games that was made before the genre died and turned ♥♥♥♥! Wanna take a ride back to the great RTS era? Then this is for you!! In my opinion it's better than Command and Conquer Generals. I wish Act of War would have continued the series til today!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Act of War: High Treason, developed by Eugen Systems and published by THQ Nordic, is an expansion that builds upon the modern warfare framework of its predecessor while attempting to broaden both its scale and tactical depth. Set within a tense, techno-thriller narrative involving political conspiracies and global instability, the game continues its story with a tone that blends military realism with cinematic ambition. It doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it refines and expands it in ways that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best RTS ever!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great games! Played over and over again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was reminded of the RTS game "Act of War" just now and to this day all I remember is that the final mission has you assaulting the White House which is too heavily defended so you build more nukes than the opponent has missile defenses and turn it into a crater.
unlabelledView post →One of the best RTS out there even after 21 years. Modern warfare at its best - balanced, challenging and still looks great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so damn fun and one of the best RTS of its time so yes i recommend it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Launched and perpetual black screen that I couldn't alt tab / use task manager on; had to hard restart my PC. Edit: I decided to try this game a year later and it launched however I experienced these annoying bugs; Team mate allies not building anything, screen flickering/tearing, shaking camera movement and the mouse bugging out and going anywhere except where you want it to go.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great older game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable on WIn10 / most modern computers. Stutter so much makes it unplayable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game lag and fps drop when moving the mouse. Windown 10 people dont buy this game or you will be unable to play this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You don't have lvl 1(DEFCON 3) defences at all, only at DEFCON 2 you have sandbags & rocket launchers which sucks & don't have some best protection,if playing skirmish if you set AI to easy the AI is not easy and will attack you with small force which will destroy your resources & you will be unavailable do defend yourself if you don't build units. Lacks more options to make the gameplay better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the greatest games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great classic game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has aged suprisingly well, and is still as good as when I first played it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm using a mod to increase the zoom limits so I guess Steam isn't tracking my time, but wow I have been amazed by this game since I first discovered it. It is better than CnC Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3, Generals, etc. And it blows out it's spiritual successor, Act of Agression, in every department, music espicially. Even the visuals hold up very well. One of the major reasons it is far superior is the amount of options you have for custom games, AoA is terrible in that regard and Red Alert 3…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get this. One of the best RTS out there. Act of agression blows.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VALVE said that it's have MULTIPLAYER. but it really dosn't. GameSpy closed the multiplayer of this game. for now, as VALVE said, game has a multiplayer. so VALVE, take responsibility and create/host multiplayer of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know, i think one of the more interesting aspect of exploring old crusty games is seeing the various mechanics they came up with and what works as well as what didn't. Example: Act of War is a RTS game based on modern at the time war and future tech. Your passive income generation is POWs.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall improvement compared to Direct Action. Although Direct Action's campaign was more fun, but that could just be because I played it more. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game isn't good, i just play it for nostalgia alone. Call to Arms is the game you're looking for not this old turd.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very underrated series. However this game is broke. unplayable game lag when mouse is moved. Game should no longer be sold until its fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely amazing, Highly recommended if you are a fan of RTS games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has alot of Command and Conquer : General Zero Hour
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two Spidermen Pointing At Each Other.png Act of War: High Treason plays considerably well on modern PC systems, despite its age. Even letting you set the resolution for 2560x1440, something I uncommonly find on older games. It also plays well, a little clunky here and there, mainly with unit pathing, but that can be forgiven due to aged game reasons. In fact it felt not too dissimilar to Act of War: Act of Aggression, which is to be expected, same series. That to me says it's a good system,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason load times started to get longer and longer after 4th mission. There is a bug that causes sounds to loop endlessly(Even in the main menu) and afterwards CTD.After encountering those bugs,on the sea warfare mission naval units don't move. You can't protect your main units because of that. Passed those missions and got incredibly unstable and can CTD for just loading a saved game and lose sound completely. For those reasons I don't suggest buying it. I couldn't even finish it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually so amazing if you used to play generals zero hour :D mod the ♥♥♥♥ outta this bois worth the money i would pay more tbh EDIT: I want people to play this game so badly the first ten people who comments add me as a friend on steam send me a message letting me know why you added me and i will personally buy those ten people the game so they may play at their leisure!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great expansion pack giving not just a new campaign but also several new units for each faction, actual modern naval combat simulation and a couple of fun new multiplayer modes with great quality of life fixes and modern screen resolution support. The campaign while being more interesting both story wise and mission variety wise is brutally difficult and unfair. More then once are you not given access to defensive turrets or even a field hospital/Intel Center/POW camp earn money as your…
