Difficult Achievement(s): No. Intro Acceleration of SUGURI 2 is a fighting game that is done in a spherical area in the sky. You have to shoot your enemy while dodging their attacks, similar to how SHMUPs are. It offers 3 modes: story, arcade, and versus. The first two are only accessible in single-player mode, although versus can be done with CPU or another player,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to preface this by saying that I liked this game and I probably still would, if it wasn't for the repeated poor balance choices that are being made. Aos2 has been a flawed game since release, it always had terrible matchup spreads with multiple 10:0 matchups being a thing in the game. Despite all of this the game has a very solid foundation; the movement and system mechanics are fantastic and incredibly fun, especially once someone gets more into it. The netcode, for its time atleast,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AoS2 was a diamond in the rough, while previous balance patches always went in the wrong directions, the incredible work Fruitbat provided for QoL features made up for these issues. Even if I stopped being active around 2020, I still (distantly) followed the development of the most recent patch. While I may have been provocative to the current devs/community when trying to raise my concerns, I have never seen a so out of touch and chaotic development for a balance patch. To the point that for…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty bad game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bullet Hell 2d fighter. Thumbs up for the interesting idea, but a combo list would be great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty good if you want to reconsider your friendships. The gameplay is simple, but it can be a bit confusing at the beginning. I recommend remapping your keybinds and getting used to cute girls beating your ass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have no idea whats happening its so unreadable help
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting game where it's a versus bullet hell battle where you shoot projectiles and use melee attacks to reduce your opponents health to zero. I like how each character has its own style of combat, however the problem is the balance. Unless you are a god, you'll realize that nobody in their right mind would choose a character like Kae or the other melee oriented characters because up against Sumika or Nanako you are boned because unless you can constantly keep up the pressure in close…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one surprised me quite a bit, when I read duel style bullet hell I thought of Touhou Phantasmagoria of Flower View in that sense that it is two players playing their given level but also defending against and sending disruptions at the opponent's screen similarly to how Tetris 99 does it. But no, this is more of a fighting game with more ranged attack options and the possibility of the game turning full on bullet hell if both players get to low HP and break off to opposite side of the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite series in the top-down arena fighter subgenre! Dodge missiles, graze beams, make reads. Easy to pick up and play with friends! Received lots of balance patches which I haven't tried yet.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Marathon. Day #1 Honestly, I don't even remember how I got this game. I think there was a key giveaway, probably... I've never been interested in this type of game, but because of the marathon, I decided to take a risk. Graphically, the game is... okay? There's no "wow" effect, but it's hard to say the graphics suck. For a 2018 game, it could have been better, but since I'm not familiar with other games in the series, I'll assume this style was an intentional choice. The first thing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this for the extra content in 100% OJ, and what I got was a bullet hell fighting game. It's the first I've seen, and the mechanics are great. One criticism is that clearing story-mode on hard unlocks absolutely nothing, despite the final boss being insanely difficult.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game might be fun, but to me the starting experience was complete garbage. Sort of a mix up between a fighting game and a shooter from what little I played of it. My starting experience was: Story/Normal (Have no idea how to play, die quickly). Found a training option in main menu. The training is just a large text dump, with buttons that are not explained (yes I figured out what dash and primary/secondary etc attacks were by hitting buttons). There is a practice mode that apparently…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dodging? who needs dodging when you have swords and homing rockets? edit: i loved the sumika fight, very reminiscent of a touhou last word
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly it's not bad, it isn't good either. The lack of a real tutorial is brutal to learn the moves, there is a move list but it doesn't help much with how to activate hyper moves. I eventually just swapped characters until I found one with better attacks then the others and I was able to be the story mode. This game needs a real introduction to the game, the bullet hell aspect is fun, dashing and dodging enemy fire, but it is not keeping me interested in this game to play it more then the 1…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"I don't understand what's happening in the most wonderful way" Not a bad game... i mean, im not a real fan of bullet hells anymore, not after Touhou drained my soul (god bless ZUN). Its a pretty basic game all things considered but it was a fun experience, specially after i had this game dormant on my library for god knows how many years. Not much else to comment besides being a "fast paced duel bullet hell against another cpu or human" which, works. Score: 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the combat is unique and fast and complex the community is the nicest i encountered the music is really cool too its very unique it has this realy nice steady calm pace and nostalgic while also weirdly feeling weirdly sorta fast 奇跡の魔法少女 - Magical girl of miracles is my favorite ost followed by accelarator i suppose

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Acceleration of SUGURI 2 playtime: 6 minutes rating: 7/10 This game is sold as a shoot 'em up but seems to be more of a touhou-style fighting game. I don't usually play fighting games and thus got absolutely demolished during the match I played.
unlabelledView post →hyper fast projectile focused fighting game. I like my hands so I don't play it much but it's sick af
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An incredibly sick VS Shmup - the union of fighting games and shmups. It's got fairly intuitive controls, based on the delightful free-movement system from SUGURI, and a wide variety of characters from Suguri and Sora. Basically the idea is "what if you could play as all the bosses in Suguri?" So it came out pretty sick. The Heat gauge lends this really exciting dynamic to the basics of dodging and shooting, where you get penalized with extra damage taken if you overuse your Dash. But…

unlabelledView post →Look, fighting games aren't my cup of tea, so keep that in mind as I say this: I found the learning curve here to be too steep. If the tutorial and initial stages of the story mode slowly introduced mechanics over time, perhaps I would have found this more approachable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've noticed a trend that I, can't understand the points of most the negative reviews the ones i can kind of understand is the skill gap based ones but for me that is something that exists in most of the games i tend to play anyway, but bad controls no tutorial maybe but i don't think its as much of a problem as people let on if I, can learn it i'm sure its not that complicated, the CPU will probably bully you for awhile if your new to this type of game trust me i was when i first started but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty good game, fighting against CPUs is easy, even in hard difficulty. But fighting against actual players is a whole different story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i wanted so badly to love this game On a casual level, the game can be fun on occasion, and its a game with perhaps with the highest peaks of any fighting game I've ever played, But the majority of the time spent in this game will never even remotely come close to enjoyable. Bad netcode, bad balance, bad dev lead, and bad core game design / framedata. its a pretty game, and you cannot argue that theres any game that plays like aos2, both for better and for worse. However it's simply not a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First impressions mean everything, there is no tutorial and I couldn't figure out how anything works, not even looking at the controls will help you. All I could figure out was how to attack and move, the rest is a complete mystery to me. Even on Easy, which it says is for beginners, the game still mops the floor with me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i am clueless XD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No mouse support. Clunky kbd controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PvP bullethell and it somehow works, an insane idea but I dont think anyone is playing it, get it with a friend to play 1v1's. Besides that game is really cool and has suprising amounts of fighting game aspects to it. Fast af gameplay with bunch of unique characters with unique playstyles and attacks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I knew this was a Bullet Hell Shoot-em-up… but I did not realize it was going to be a Bullet Hell Shoot-em-up FIGHTER. That’s right just you and one boss in a literal ring duking it out until the other expires or time runs out. I’m not exactly the best at these games, I can usually get by, but this just did not click for me. Maybe because I was dead set on using a controller but the button configuration felt off. Often needing to press the square+circle/B+X buttons among other combinations…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a one of a kind. I wish there were more like it, but with a bigger playerbase.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game has great combat and it's intense and engaging, it's absolutely dead though but worth playing with a couple of friends to battle it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad at bullet hells and fighting games and they mixed this game together to cause me immense hell but somehow im having... fun? what is this? anyway i love suguri 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand that kind of games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can’t say much about this game or the franchise as a whole, but it's just not for me—I get the idea but I don’t care for the concept of aerial fighting shoot-'em-ups.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT RECOMMENDED. This a niche variety game most non-Japanese people will not like. I can imagine the otaku sweat of the average intended player of this game. To quote a wise man: "This game will make the average casual player cry like an anime fan on the prom night." :) How on Earth can you have dozens and dozens of "Training" and "How to Play" info screens about technicals without actually telling... how to play and win at the game in practice. There is no direction there. You have this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a Shmup. It's an arena fighter. Playing with the community means accept that you're going to have to learn combos instead of just being able to play nuetral. If you want a REAL versus Shmup, something more pure, there are other options. As much as I've been hurt playing this game, it's still a good one if you can accept what you've read above.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool as hell shoot em' up turned into a fast-paced fighting game. It is glorious. Highlight of my year.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So the week of April 1st, one of our TO's brought in his desktop ("desktop" but that's a whole other story) with a bunch of random games on it and said that night was whatever you agree on is the game for that round. Grand finals was Acceleration of Suguri 2.
unlabelledView post →Fun fighting game with relatively easy to learn mechanics. Combat takes place in midair with a variety of projectiles, as well as some melee options. Each character has their own unique moveset. Plenty of room for skill and also fairly friendly to new players. Highly recommended.
