Conceptually a very fun game & aesthetically extremely pleasing too - tearing stuff up is extremely satisfying. Hurts to not give this the thumb up. On a deep (50%+) sale I'd maybe still recommend it. It just commits the physics puzzle 'cardinal sin' - non-deterministic physics: You can launch the same build, the same setup, the same inputs, and the result my be "randomly" a bit different each time. And I don't mean "unimportant particle effects & debris fly a bit different". I mean: -…

Awesome game! I heavily recommend it with only *one* caveat: if you want 100% achievements, you won't be able to get it. I'll explain later. First the good stuff: the game is amazing! Seriously so awesome. I love puzzle games. I love explosions. Physics is fun. This has it all: constantly progressing ways to make things go boom in really nice looking explosions and collapses of debris. So much fun. So many different mechanics with pretty consistent progression. Fun challenge levels.…

Zero motivation for you to try and get 100% on all levels, since like others have said, the physics system isn't deterministic, meaning that with the same solution and same steps carried out, you'll get different results every try.

The game is good and beautiful. However it has TERRIBLE CONTROLS. It was fun at the beginning, but later it starts relying on precission without letting you step the motors by a small amount (by a shift modifier, or by allowing to adjust motor speed, etc - easy solutions). And soon I found myself fighting the buttons instead of the levels. What was fun, started to be frustrating. And that is not something I look for in a seemingly relaxing game. Camera controls* don't help either. *Yes,…

Fun but full of physsics bugs, often times you havbe to reopen the game using the same solution to get 100% on a map. wish it had a neutral just be aware game still has bugs and solution might not give you 100% even when you use the correct answer

In theory this game could be awesome. It looked amazing! BUT: - It's non deterministic aka totally random. The same thing might give you 73% on one try and 98% on the next one. The physics are all over the place and do not work as you would expect. Unlike the bridge builder games, you will need to hit repeat a lot of times to get 100%. - The controls are non intuitive. Hentai games figured out the control scheme decades ago, why this game uses it's own scheme is beyond my understanding - It's…

The lack of mechanical depth unfortunately ruined this one for me. There aren't all that many components to play with and the game doesn't want you be creative with the tools it provides you either. Rather you are to build one very specific construction to solve each puzzle, generally the one that uses up all the parts provided for the level. If you click on "show hint" in the menu, it even shows you a picture of what to build. And that's pretty much all there is here.

I went all the way through Poly Bridge, but ABRISS right here has a painful build mode, an unreliable physics engine where you get different outcomes of the same build, stuck blocks out of nowhere (hinge doesn't turn on the second try anymore) and crashes all the time. Also destroying the constructions wasn't as fun as I expected. May be because of the not so punchy sound design. Plus you cannot save any nor different builds. Levels seem to have only one direction of solution, so you can't…

The game erases your highest score if you replay a level. So if you get 95% and want to try for 100% but for some reason the random physics only gets the same build to 80% you now have lost the 95% for good and are stuck with 80% since it only ever keeps the last run no matter how bad it is. The physics being random and the same setup having different results each time I have mixed feelings about, I can see benefits from both approaches to having it be deterministic or not. Though combining…

Honestly the build system is too limiting, the sandbox still limits start build location which is honestly so dumb. the Builds felt so flimsy and inconsistent and super oppressive as you cant make your own targets. Fun if you dont mind the repetitiveness

Camera controls can be frustrating at times, but overall very satisfying to destroy structures. The whole process looks aesthetically pleasing too. Though especially later on the puzzle difficulty stems mostly from trying to figure out how to avoid triggering any wonky physics. However not all levels are properly play tested. Some are impossible to perfect due to some level awards being either set to a wrong number, or destruction not working as intended. Only applies to a small handful of…

Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/, Follow me! ABRISS - build to destroy is a puzzle simulator game. This game probably is the best simulator about debris. The campaign shows you how to do basic builds with a very informative tutorial so even a monkey can do it, and the levels are very well designed showing all the posibilities in each stage. Edit: The controller issue has now been fixed. I can now play the game without having to unplug my usb pedals, stick and throttle. This game is extremely poorly coded and completely unplayable unless you unplug your controllers before attempting to play it. It's not good enough to justify having to reach for the back of my pc and disconnect my pedals and joystick every time I wanna play this thing. If you don't unplug your controllers, the mouse cursor won't even show up on the screen.

Like other reviews have said the physics in this game are not deterministic, so for many levels you will have to reset repeatedly with the exact same solution in the hopes of getting an outcome that achieves 100% or even just clears the level. A deeply frustrating experience which isn't helped by the sluggish controls and often times uncomfortable camera angle.

This has a promising premise, but the physics can be really fiddly and your toolset to modify your construction is rather limited. If you found you needed it build slightly to the left, your only recourse is to tear it down and rebuild it. The gameplay loop begs for you to tweak things but makes it way too tedious to actually do so

ABRISS is so close to being perfect, but questionable design choices and one fatal flaw hold it back a bit for me. It's still one of my favorite games of the year. Honestly, the best puzzle game I've played this year. ABRISS is like if you took a destruction sandbox like Teardown and built a puzzle game out of it. I love Teardown, but it's campaign left a lot to be deserved. It just got repetitive quickly once you realize you've basically seen everything it has to offer in a couple hours.…

There are so many unavoidable crashes that make this game not really worth it currently. If there was a save feature, I'd be a little less peeved. Pros: Good game, neat mechanics and good level design, reminds me a lot of Besiege (crazy right?) Cons: Pretty frequent crashes, infrequent updates, a lot less features than Besiege (crazy, right?) This game needs a timeout!!!!

Abandoned game(I think, questions from as far back as 2023 have gone completely unanswered), non deterministic physics causes weird bugs and extremely inconsistent completion percentages, is likely damn near impossible to 100% due to oftentimes objects that were knocked off the structure and are lying on the ground still count as intact if they haven't fully fallen apart. You cannot change the angle of the camera, just spin it around, resulting in a limited builder that is unsatisfying to use.…

It's a fun game, but the bugs are killing me. Every few levels I have to restart because the damage counter just gets stuck somehow and I can't get 100% anymore. After a restart it works just fine. Also, I get a lot of black screen after finishing levels (every 5th time probably) and nothing works so I have to kill the game with Alt+F4.

Good grief, if ever there was a description of a "lucky find" it's Abriss on Steam. I wasn't sure this was going to work on Steam Deck but it works beautifully, though I prefer to use a mouse rather than the joypad controls for a bit of fine tuning. I love any game where physics is married to destruction and Abriss fits the bill perfectly, with an unearthly look and feel but some stunning effects and brain-bending puzzles as you strike a fine balance between proper strategic play, or 'hit and…

Superfun. People say this is a puzzle game. It's no puzzle heaping a bunch of crap together, rockets, lasers &c. and pushing the fire button, so get through the super easy gravity-only part and start blowing ♥♥♥♥ up. You can do it, it's not hard. What is hard is listening to others talk about their failures and lamentations.

It shouldn't take me 20 minutes to come across (I wasn't even trying strange stuff to make the game go crazy or anything) two bugs that are this bad (pointed out below). Also there are too many oversights with the game design. There should be a way to "undo" after you press GO because if you did something really dumb, then you shouldn't have to sit and wait there and let the game do its thing. Then you have…

(EA Review 8/28/22) Short but sweet, roughly 2-3 hours without trying to get expert on everything. Cool little puzzle game! Physics are cool, you can get wildly different results just trying again with the same build which can be annoying or fun depending on how you look at it.

I was looking for some Besiege alternatives, but unfortunately this one does not make a good first impression. There some good and interesting ideas here, like not having to build vehicles to carry your weapons, like having multiple "moves" per level, and the game in general is fun when it works. The graphics are good, the sound is decent, the destruction - satisfying. But the bugs are just unforgivable. Having to restart the game every 10-30 minutes is just not acceptable.
