unlabelledView post →Some flipping and writing in Around the World in 80 Days. Perhaps an obvious statement given the Postmark catalagoue but I like map based writing / drawing games.
unlabelledView post →I just played @inklestudios.bsky.social's fantastic game 80 Days. Clearly you do not need a AAA budget to make a great narrative game. Smart writing, simple but compelling gameplay, multiple branching ensuring replayability. Bravo!
unlabelledView post →Weird inkle tradition - when the game's nearly done, we do a "psycho run" - where you ignore EVERYTHING and speed beginning to end as fast as possible. Framing someone in Overboard! in 2 hours -- under 30 in 80 Days -- running the Highlands in 2 game days (the average is ~10) Deep little games 🤘

unlabelledView post →i’ll close off the thread with recommendations on games that have responsive dialog choices: - Galatea (ifdb.org/viewgame?id=...) — a game all about dialoging with an artwork about life and everything else - 80 Days (store.steampowered.com/app/381780/8...) — you’re talking your way across the world
unlabelledView post →Have you ever played 80 Days? It's a great and repayable game in a re-imagining of the classic novel. It's not overly-complicated and it's genuinely fun. :)
unlabelledView post →2026 gaming backlog 48 - 80 Days (PC) A smartly charming narrative adventure, based on a steampunk-themed retelling of Jules Verne's story. Surprisingly tense as time and funds run dry, but without ever being too grating about it; a neat little game indeed. #videogames #indiegame
unlabelledView post →The first game I played was Sorcery!, an adaptation of Steve Jackson's gamebooks, which of course I loved because I'd played them as a kid. But the first game that really inspired me, when writing Cthulhu Dark, was 80 Days.
unlabelledView post →downloaded the 80 Days mobile game app yesterday and I've already been around the world three times and died the Arctic once. (very cool, but disappointed there was no option to cannibalise Fogg.)
unlabelledView post →Exhibit A: I cannot listen to a game dev podcast without immediately wanting to start building out a prototype. Most recently it was @jon.inkle.co's "80 Days as a TTRPG" conversation on the Narrative Kaleidoscope pod... what a delicious pile of problems to solve.

unlabelledView post →Yeah, I spent it finally circling back around to 80 Days which was just a hell of a lot of fun for effectively a choose-your-own-adventure computer game. I also liked that they made the book route extremely subverted in the game.
unlabelledView post →A game I often play when travelling myself 80 Days by @inklestudios.bsky.social is this incredible narrative, and actual, journey set around Phileas Fogg trying to circumnavigate a fantastical Victorian steampunk world. There are so many stories contained in it that I've still never visited them all

And more 80 Days (at a normal pace) for that matter!! Anyway I still love this mug I made for myself and myself alone.
unlabelledView post →I'll always remember "losing" my first run of 80 Days, when the game didn't end and suddenly it became more about the journey of these two men travelling the world together, not some silly competition

unlabelledView post →I'm using Ink, which is the scripting language Inkle made/uses (game dev company for TR-49, 80 Days, Overboard!, etc). It's basically just pure text in its bare bones basic state. I like Ren'Py, too, but I'm not really good with visual art lol

unlabelledView post →"Stories: The Path of Destinies" (2016) a game that's talking during the downtime. there is unfortunately no option to turn him off. the gameplay bits are bad Zelda and the choose-your-own adventure bits can't hold up to, say, "80 Days". better than the sum of its parts, though 7/10
unlabelledView post →80 Days Inkle's first big game and still my favourite. A narrative journey around the world (very) loosely based on the Jules Verne story, manage your time and your finances to win Phileas Fogg's bet, traversing by train, ship, airship, submarine, walking city or giant mechanical bird.

unlabelledView post →@vicorva the intro made me realise you could probably also use #RPGMaker to just create a #ChooseYourOwnAdventure style game such as #80Days :) I also really like the outdoors tileset you went with. :) Refreshing use of colours compared to the typical RPG Maker ones I've seen so far. :) Looking forward to further updates.
