positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently picked up 16bit Trader on Steam and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. The retro-style pixel art graphics are really charming and the retro soundtrack is a nice touch. The gameplay itself is really engaging as well. As a trader, you have to manage your resources and make smart trades in order to turn a profit. It's not an easy task and requires some strategy, but it's definitely worth it when you finally make a big score. The open world gives a lot of options for trading and the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🎯 Rating: 7/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆☆☆ 📜 Overview 16bit Trader is a trading simulation game that immerses players in the life of a traveling merchant seeking to avenge the death of their father by amassing wealth. You start as a humble trader, buying and selling goods between different towns, while also engaging in activities like hiring mercenaries for protection or gathering useful gossip. The game offers a blend of strategy, resource management, and exploration as you gradually build a trading empire.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like ordering a pizza and getting a slap in the face instead. Unfun? Check. Unbalanced? Absolutely. The official best strategy guide literally tells you to ignore the trading—you know, the ENTIRE POINT of the game—and instead gamble your life's savings on diamond mines like you're in some cursed Vegas slot machine simulator. So I did it. I went full prospector. Mortgaged my imaginary house. Sailed off with high hopes and a twinkle in my eye... and came back with empty pockets,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is trash. Like others have said, it's basically impossible to make money trading, due to multiple factors including unpredictable traveling expenses, the fact that almost everywhere pays less than your buying prices. I tried twice. The first game I lost all my money within 15 minutes. The second game I managed to make a little bit initially, but then fell right back into the hole and lost money again. Believe that mostly negative score and don't waste your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this game is basically a younger sibling of [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/294020/Merchants_of_Kaidan/]Merchants of Kaidan and, even though it was released a year later, there are a lot of its features missing in 16bit Trader, which is strange and sad. I have played Merchants of Kaidan in 2019 and have rather enjoyed it, here is my [url=https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198036297204/recommended/294020/]review. The story is pretty much similar to Merchants, your father gets…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →16bit Trader offers an old-school trading simulation, but it quickly becomes repetitive and lacks depth. The concept of buying low and selling high across different towns sounds engaging, but the gameplay feels monotonous with minimal strategy involved. The quests are simplistic, and the progression is slow, which makes it hard to stay invested. The 16-bit graphics might charm fans of retro aesthetics, but the overall experience feels shallow. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re looking for a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first it seems interesting, but then everything turns into a mechanic abuse and traveling here and there for the purpose of resale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend I play with said that if I post a review about the game and it gets 200 likes and 100 rewards, he'll buy me a bag of chips and a RTX 4090. So I'll leave this here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →16 bit>64 bit xD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bandits really suck the fun out of this, you make 700 gold, get robbed 3 times in a row and congrats, you have no money to even travel to the next town to recover. It'd happen without fail anytime I made a really big sale. Not being able to see how much a trip will cost if you don't have enough money is very annoying, and you're almost always trading at a loss due to the travel costs. So the easiest way to play is, ironically, by not trading at all and focusing on quests and mining instead.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is boring and tedious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Free trading cards for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sorry excuse for a strategy/trading game. Sure it has some adequate graphics and an appropriate looping tune.. but from there it is a dull, lifeless clicker in which the trading itself is pointless and the gameplay is entirely based on luck.. until you figure to use 2 saves and reload whenever something bad happens. Horrid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought stocks from robots. They sold me trash then vanished on vacation. Even the pixel art looked at me with pity.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game for free. Played it for 5min and it's terrible. Opened game on background to get trading cards.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A poor and extremely basic implementation of the trader genre. Star Trader did it better, back in 1974.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know this game has gotten a lot of negative reviews but honestly it's not as bad as some people will have you believe. Yes this game is difficult but if you play smart it's not impossible. I dunno, maybe I'm just a patient oldskool gamer who's used to the harshness of permadeath roguelikes. This game requires a "slow but steady" approach instead of a "get rich quick" scheme. The problem most people seem to run into is that they upgrade their wagon too early, buy too much merchandise they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm pretty chill and open to experiences, and therefore I rarely give out negative reviews. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game deserves a major thumbs down. :( It seems like there was a spark of a good idea somewhere, but it was long gone before the game was "finished". Long story short: all the game's mechanics are broken. Market fluctuation does not make any sense; hardly you will make any money actually buying & selling; diamonds are easily exploitable. The only reason why I endured playing it was to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is suppose to be a "Tycoon Trading Game." Instead it makes no sense and is a waste of time. The point of the game is to buy items in one location and sell it for a higher price in a different location. Sounds easy enough, NOT! How can you possibly progress in the game if you buy items for $15 and when you go to sell them somewhere else you only get $6 or less? Once you buy an item there is no one, and I mean No One, who will buy it for a higher price than what you paid. Which means... You…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remake of an old Polish trading game. While visually it is ok, gameplay is rather unpolished. But ultimately it does not matter because the game is broken an unplayable for most people, due to the saving bug where you are only able to do so once on every of the available three save slot... and never again. While the developers were quick to respond to anyone that had complains on the game not being 16-bit despite it being in the title (with the same copy-paste response every time,) once the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I should've taken a 5 hour nap instead of wasting my time on this game. It did make me sleepy, though. It's a bad game with reloading saves tactics. The MC is so unlucky, it's easy to get robbed or run out of travel money which gives you "game over". I'm on my 1200+ day and I'm tired of his mundane "travels" and having to always reload so I don't go bankrupt. The summary makes this game sound better than it actually is. It's also a clicker game. You know how many times you have to click on the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →16bit Trader is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam by greedy mobile devs as a cash grab. It's a simple business simulator where you buy and sell commodities to make profit and expand your ability to continue trading. Gameplay consists of clicking on a couple of buildings in each town you visit and clicking on the map to decide where to go. The graphics aren't terrible for a mobile app, but it very much is one. The real problems are in the mechanics... they're dry, and not much fun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I haven't really started playing yet and I'm already annoyed. The German translation is so horrible and hardly understandable. The English translation seems a bit better - but I wouldn't call it a good translation (and I'm no native speaker). On my system the buttons react if I click somewhere left to them. So I'm hovering over the screen hoping that the area I want to go to becomes a bit darker and click then. I'm not sure I really want to try the game. But then, it was only a few…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2024 Economy Simulator - in order to do anything in this game you have to abuse save and load system. There is so much luck required to not fail that I see it as too iritating to play. I do not reccomend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after playing Merchants of Kaidan, I notice that all of the dialogue and quests are the same, but with a different map, and a much more difficult to understand economy (no scaling difference in different items prices), and its way easier to get a game over, since travel costs so much more respectively to how much you earn. I got this game in a bundle with Merchants of Kaidan, and I'm much more likely to recommend that one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is far worse than the trading games you'd find for free in Kongregate back in 2010. So if you wanna sink your teeth into a trading game, go look for the free flash options.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →16bit Trader is a game where you navigate treacherous seas, trade goods, and try to make a fortune, or as I like to call it, "Pirate Simulator Lite"—just don't forget your eye patch and parrot!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and a waste of time. 1/10 - Not recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean there's a game there. I almost wanna recommend it, because for the price, there is some gameplay to "play". However, the gameplay loop isn't as interesting, and without external help, I find it difficult to have a fighting chance to win. It looks like it's made in unity, and they forgot to use textmeshpro, cause text look pretty blurry on 1440p. I would say buy it if it looks interesting, but for the average user, I would probably just go find something free to play thats better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hum... Nope. This game is a trader simulator with some quests. Music and graphics are modest. It looks and feels like a Mobile Port. No bugs or crashes. Runs fine on Win 7. Overall, is very basic... and way too grinding. You buy and sell items from town to town trying to make some profit that is always very little. Traveling costs money, hiring people costs money and there's an upkeep involved, you get mugged all the time for severe losses even if you hire guards. So you need to save every…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly dont buy this!! You can find better cheap games then this. You start with 300 gold to move from town to town to buy and sell things. And this it.. You need luck to not to meet some "friends" on the road. You need luck to get to a town were you can get some quests. Every time you move to diferente tows it will cost you. Conclusion: Boring game to me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trash, it is a no buy for sure... just... don't... buy... this... If you already have it you msot likely got it in a mass giveaway so ye, if you are a completionist like me you won't like this one much, RNG based and non-sense in the same package so good luck on that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Nostalgic Trading Idea That Gets Lost in Repetition I actually like the idea behind 16bit Trader, a simple, old-school trading game where you travel between towns, buy low, sell high, and slowly build up your own little merchant empire. It sounds like something I’d enjoy in short sessions, especially with that retro pixel vibe. And to be fair, at the beginning, it does feel kinda relaxing just moving from place to place and trying to figure out where to make profit. But the more I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →16bit Trader, developed and published by Forever Entertainment S.A., is a compact, nostalgically styled trading adventure that deliberately embraces simplicity rather than competing with complex economic simulations. It presents a medieval fantasy world where merchants travel between cities, negotiating fluctuating prices, avoiding dangers on the road, and slowly building wealth through smart buying and selling decisions. The opening premise—recovering a stolen inheritance—gives the journey a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played similar games that can be a lot of fun and have a bit of nuance. This one is harsh and doesn't feel balanced. It feels less punishing to roll a die and punch myself in the face every time something below a 4 comes up than play this RNG hell.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay quickly becomes repetitive and shallow, offering minimal mechanics such as buying, selling, and basic quests. The interface is clumsy. Overall, the experience is underwhelming and forgettable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like trading games, but I did not have fun with this, and the quests & story are not engaging enough to make up for the gameplay. There are a ton of economy & trading games out there I'd rather replay than play this one once.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall the game is 'meh', kinda a niche thing to enjoy. But it's cheap enough that I'm not going to ramble about how bad it is. But from a 100%'s perspective, those Steam cheevos were weirdly hard as even with following a guide, as sometimes events just did not happen. Nothing offensively bad, just bad.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tedious, grindy, too little rewards (not enough to make profit), travel costs too expensive. Lose lose lose before you make a profit maybe (I didn't make any). Game doesn't keep track of prices, you have to write down, prices randomize at each new game; more writing down. Did i say grindy? Forget it, not worth your time, play Freelancer if you want a good experience at trading; it keeps track of every price and it doesn't change. Play Elite Dangerous, also better at trading, it keep track of…

This retro-inspired trading game offers a simple and straightforward gameplay experience for those who enjoy strategic decision-making and economic simulations.
