On one hand, I genuinely enjoyed the game, and I can see it having a lot of potential if the developers keep supporting and improving it (so far, they seem to care). On the other hand, this might genuinely be the first game where I've fallen asleep in the middle of a run... multiple times. If that doesn't tell me I was getting bored, I don't know what does. XD ## The Pros Let's start with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for handheld. Can play while taking a dump, suspend and resume safely on windows without issue for your next dump. Solid. Runs full graphics 1200p comfortably between 12 to 20 watts on the Z2E depending on how many zombies on screen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really satisfying progression. It never feels like a grind. I love how the game lets you try out different setups and reset your upgrades whenever you want, so you never have to worry about making permanent choices. You'll naturally earn achievements just by playing, which is nice, and many of them also unlock things in-game. But chasing a few achievements in a single run adds an extra layer of challenge that makes achievement hunting even more fun. Yet another zombie game that didn't feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the first 20 hours of this game. Then I saw the full scope of the talent trees for each class, and the overwhelming lack of synergies between the classes feels really terrible. 90% of your damage ends up coming from your primary weapon and the 80% of the unlocked skills you get are pretty much useless. Like if they weren't there at all, you wouldn't notice any difference in your power level. This game was so close to being amazing, but the more you play, you realize that you can't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a Survivors type game. There are dozens (if not hundreds) of these games on Steam. This is probably one of the very best ones. You should get it. (great devs btw)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Lots of fun, really gives you constant shots of dopamine, plenty of stuff to do in it. If you love Vampire Survivors, you'll love this. Graphics are nice on the eyes as well, really keeps you motivated to keep trying harder. My only gripe with it is that the grind is absurd, I played it with a 2x speed mod just to quicken things up because I just don't have the time to commit to playing a 20 minute level. I figure I would cut that time in half and get twice as many games in per…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably one of the best Survivorlikes out there right now. Some light plot, 9 great characters that feel different to play, many many types of modes of play for each of the maps, and a lot of things to unlock. Can't recommend this enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fake ads for mobile games ? The one with a group of humans mowing down hordes ? That looked like mad fun but turns out to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ city management game ? This is the fake ad game. Zombies, humans, guns, LOTS of noise and kabooms. And yes it is indeed mad fun.

unlabelledView post →Well, I just broke 100 hours. Unlike most of the games I play, my game time in YAZS has come primarily in 20 minute segments. I have a little time, do a run, and then go back to what I was doing (usually involving some version of being a responsible adult). But that's really the beauty of this game - you keep coming back to it. In 20 minute segments I've come back to this game hundreds of times. And I've never been bored. In other words, maybe not the most captivating game in the entire world,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a game. I was legit not expecting to be as into this, but I find myself diving straight back in after losing runs, which is a good sign. The melting pot is just right here, doing enough of its own thing, and with a lot of polish. Does some novel things in the space, which also covers an area (the Bio-Zombie stuff) that I've not personally experienced done with this kind of game, so that's fresh. I'm not going to list off all the things it does a bit different, as that's likely in other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started this game expecting the usual boring zombie nonsense. Slow walkers. Mindless groaning. The kind of thing that makes me want to fall asleep mid massacre. But this one actually surprised me. The hordes keep rushing at me like they think they have a chance. It is cute. I enjoy the effort. It is nice when the pests at least try before they get erased. I walk through the map and everything dies around me in huge waves. The game calls this survival. I call it community cleanup. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This went from a game that was just a treat to see actually adding unique takes to the Bullet Heaven genre (a very overloaded genre I think we can all agree) with their squad focused style, into a great example of what happens when devs take their time to let a game cook in Early Access rather than rushing a release. Great example of Early Access done right, and worth your time. The squad based tactics caught my eye when this first went into Early Access, enough where I actually got over my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily one of the best Survivors games I have ever played. Has incredible variety to the builds and compositions with growing danger levels and map variation. Has great/strong mini bosses with a good collection of power ups to choose from and synergise with. Steam achievements have been well selected to allow for more replay ability and they have been adding more of them with each update. A great get for any avid Survivor fan, and would make a awesome addition to your steam survivor…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't buy early access games. But I have been interested in survivor games, and I like zombies. When I heard about this and saw the very positive reviews I tried the demo. I played for almost 2 hours, I was sold and I bought the game. It's very fun, and the upgrades and progression feel satisfying. Every time I spent points upgrading my team I want to do one more run to test out my new level ups. I recommend this game, I even bought a second copy for a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Attention, Yet Another Zombie Survivors! #YAZS Update 0.8 is now live on #Steam! A new Survivor joins the fight - Mechanic - and with her comes a dozen new weapons, tons of buffs to almost everything, and lots of fixes and QoL changes (effects transparency setting, anyone?). Really pretty too. Started Yet Another Zombie Survivors and after the first hour or so it gets really damn fun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games in the genre. I always pick it up again after an update. One of only 3 games out of the 980+ I own that I've deliberately gone for all achievements on. The devs should neglect their friends and family and just release more content.

unlabelledView post →So I beat the game at around 35 hours. Despite earning the achievement, the global tab still shows 0.0% on earning the beat the game T pose achievement. The game is outrageously easy and simple to play. I did not play with manual aim, and instead let all the guns and abilities auto aim and use. You max all of your stats far before the end, so it is unclear what the point of difficulty 3 is (in theory you trade more experience for tougher enemies, a trade that never seems to make sense.)…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my opinion, this is the best bullet heaven/survivors-like out there right now. The core gameplay loop is tight and varied, with runs lasting from ~6 minutes (1-hit mode) to as long as you want (infinite mode). The meta progression is deep and satisfying as you gradually unlock additional systems, weapons, skills, and capstones for each character, all of whom feel meaningfully different. RNG is just present enough to keep things interesting, but there are plenty of tools to manage it. It…

Yet Another Zombie Survivors I'm a big fan of the old Yet Another Zombie Defense, it's my favorite shovelware game to play with friends when I've got nothing going on. This is also a pretty good shovelware game, but Vampire Survivors. I feel like it loses something without multiplayer though.

I forget which one but you access it when breaking out of the chair and typing a code into the terminal, I think it was called "Nazi Zombies arcade" or something like that. It brings me a blast of nostaliga but you know with its own flair. Runs super well on my steamdeck, thats really been the only device i've played it on. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First 20 min run, I thought, "Seriously? That's all there is?" Then I started unlocking the Training skill trees and meta-progression and am now HOOKED... There's a handful of QOL features that I'd love to see in regards to the UI and UX, but I know this is still early access and the dev team looks to be incredibly passionate. So I'll reserve any judgement there for now... Would I recommend this game as of today? YES. Do I wish there was 3-player co-op so this game could break Steam…

The mechanics are simple to understand, the game is the right amount of time consuming, the different character types or fun to use and feel different to play. (Personally the Engineer is my favorite) One of the better Action Rogue likes i've played in a good while. There are good maps, big enough to move around in, small enough to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay loop is quite good and the meta progression is well-paced. With a game like this, well there are other games where the character/team don't use weapons or abilities the way you want. Hard to explain, but in other games it's tough to get them to DO what you WANT them to DO. Not in this game, in the best way. The team does what you would expect... what you want. Very satisfying when they execute the plan that was in your mind. Levels have a good loop of: - initial player…

unlabelledView post →Yet Another Zombie Survivors has usurped the mighty Deep Rock Galactic Survivor as my go-to “I’m bored” game. 10+ hrs and it’s not gotten old. Lots of fun build possibilities! On a semi-related note, my computer is finally starting to die on me, so looks like I’ll be paying out to deal with that.
unlabelledView post →Fun, but gets boring fast. I recommend it if you like the visual aspect of seeing a horde get culled and some vampire survivors type progression. There isn't much skill aspect to it. The best upgrades for each character are easily discerned, synergies are explicit upgrades instead of separate but coinciding upgrades, and your party hitbox is too large to maneuver around the zombies in any agile manner. It's to say that there isn't that much skill involved and you will do mostly the same thing…
