negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game stopped working some time ago. Today I looked through the comments of this game and saw that this problem exists for over 2 years already... Stil no fix... For everyone reading this: You can only play the game if you start the .exe through your file explorer under Steam/steamapps/common/WOFF/WOFF.exe. Here you can also enter the Config to adjust your graphics settings. It is really a shame how Square Enix does not care about this game. I really enjoyed playing it and still will be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if the game is crashing upon launch, go to your steamapps folder find WOFF right click the .exe, enable compatibility mode and check mark run as administrator. should run now, you are welcome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came back to try and play it again but the game doesn't even work. It opens and closes instantly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pokemon Final Fantasy is a neat take on the creature collector genre. The stacks feature makes for an interesting way to mix and match your creatures, though I do wish you could drop the main characters from the stacks for further customization. Absolutely loved encountering the funko pop versions of the main characters from other Final Fantasy games, and you can use them as powerful summon attacks which is a pretty neat feature. Many of the cutscenes have a cool anime styling to them and it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is one of my favorite final fantasys BUT You HAVE TO LAUNCH IT FROM THE FOLDER ITS SELF not via steam, for some reason it breaks if you launch it via steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like cutesy Chibi's, Final Fantasy, and Digimon; this is one big jumble of it all. The game is really fun to play, but if you're big on story and pay attention to any amount of details, you'll start to get annoyed with just how braindead the MC's are. On sale, this game will always be worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World Of Final Fantasy is a cute, funny, beautiful, and fun side story in the Final Fantasy series. Unfortunately this port of the game is so comically broken that it's not even worth trying to play this version, there's the launch bug, easy enough to fix, but after that there is a 30 fps cap, and the shadow resolution maximum isn't even available before modding. The amount of tools and patches for this game is unfortunately minimum, and further, performance degradation hit this game and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game, Terrible PC Port I would genuinely love to give World of Final Fantasy a positive review because the game itself is a lot of fun. The concept is fantastic: Pokémon meets Final Fantasy. Collecting and evolving Mirages, building your stack combinations, and seeing characters and monsters from across the Final Fantasy series come together is a genuinely enjoyable experience. It's a charming, laid-back RPG that's perfect when you want something fun and relaxing. The problem is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello everyone it is I the James with the Games, here with my good friend Berserker Bahamut. And today we hath finally platinumed another title in the collection. A title that was one of the biggest love letters we have ever seen. This game you can feel the passion behind what they made. The balancing isn't bad. The overall gameplay and story are satisfying, and the creature collector aspect really hits home for fans of the series since we're all used ot these sorts of familiar faces.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For anyone who can't start the game: right-click in the Steam library, manage, browse local files, right-click the WOFF application in the folder, select properties, compatibility, run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or maybe 8, disable full-screen optimizations on, run as admin on, change high DPI settings, override high DPI scaling, override high DPI scaling behavior on, and select scaling performed by application. Nexus Mods has an FPS mod that allows you to play the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I start this review, I want to make this clear: World of Final Fantasy Maxima is a fantastic game. The game itself is wonderful. If you’re into monster‑taming games (like Pokémon or Digimon) and you’ve got a long history with Final Fantasy, then this is a game for you. It oozes charm. The stacking system is clever, and the callbacks are fun. The Maxima upgrade fixes a lot of issues from the original release and adds strong post‑game content. And even though the Steam store page doesn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, unfortunately there are too many problems with this game that I can't be bothered to keep playing. If you are player who just bought the game, downloaded it and started to launch it BUT the game does not launch directly from steam, that's the first problem, so in order to launch game you have to launch it from game's folder where it is downloaded. After launching game controls are horrible. This is not typical game where you navigate with mouse but with W and S…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unable to launch directly from steam. Need to launch the exe file as admin. Full screen does not allow alt tab. Windows will permanently show you the big ass frame at the top. No borderless window.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first 30% of the game are focused on collecting mirages, weighing up your strengths against the enemies weaknesses, and adapting your strategy to your foe. Then you unlock Battery Powered and Maximum Output and the Game turns into a WW1 simulation where youre the Artillery, the enemies are lost orphans and there are no trenches to save them. Also saying that invincible has a chance of proccing is like saying that a coin toss has a chance of landing on heads. My man Iron…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy the game and would love to recommend this for people. but it's just not something that i can do. the game plays good for me with one opening, then I have to spend an hour or two messing with compatability settings just to get the game to work. then after that i need to mess with them AGAIN because the saved settings for compatability stopped working and i have to try another method until it works. Wish i could say to buy the game, but unless you're on Steam Deck. it's not worth…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I already owned this game on playstation, but decided to pick it up on steam during discount because I never finished it, though vaguely recall it being fun at the time. That said, game crashes on start up, the fix for it is easy, just go into the properties folder and set to run as admin and it loads perfectly fine. Then I was confronted with my next issue of no controller support. How a game designed for the Playstation has no controller support on PC is astounding to me. I'd always rather…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The spiritual successor to FF9 in being the next game to reference every FF game. You stack three characters into a two stack party with combined stats and level up to 150 different monsters with hidden powers. There is a summoning system where you control biblically accurate boss monster/s you can level and customize with extra attacks and resistances, and a standard summon where you can assign three different moves that are overpowered. While you can stack everything so you have two attacks a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this game. Played and 100% it first on PS4, World of Final Fantasy is a really good and well-written game. I know the Final Fantasy community is really mixed about it (feels like you either love it or hate it), hardcore fans not being okay with the characters coming from every other FF games (not like we got Dissidia before it and nobody said anything *cough*), but imo it's nicely made and the game makes sense. The story is good, brings some fresh air for a FF game, but still making you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just a fun, cute final fantasy experience that you will probably get some laughs out of. Nothing about it really screams YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS NOW, but rather, something like, "Hey, this is here if you want."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY is a spin-off that treats the Final Fantasy universe like a crossover playground, but pairs it with a monster-collecting RPG structure. You follow the twins Lann and Reynn as they travel through Grymoire, a world where familiar faces, places, and references from across the series are mixed into one lighter, more whimsical adventure. The tone is intentionally cute and comedic. Characters are stylized with chibi proportions, dialogue often leans playful, and even big…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They released a patch for this game, and now you cannot run this game unless you run it as a system admin, meaning this game is effectively full of spyware. You should never need admin privileges to play a game. Until Square stops going out of its way to screw users over, I cannot and WILL NOT endorse any game they produce.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The outer "shell" of the game felt like Pokemon, just Final Fantasy themed. But its not, it has very diffrent mechanics. Its also pretty good :). Game did crash when trying to open it after i downloaded it, had to fix it by always opening the game as an Administator.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting spin on the Creature Collector genre that is only held back by a lackluster narrative and somewhat unrefined combat gimmicks—an overall okay experience that slightly overstays its welcome. Story and Setting Players control the amnesiac siblings Reynn and Lann, who awake in an entirely empty city. There, they meet the enigmatic Enna Kros, who explains to them that they are so-called Mirage Keepers, and in order to recover their memories, they will have to embark into the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve only been able to play World of Final Fantasy once since buying it. I enjoyed that first session, but now the game won’t even launch—it just crashes immediately. For a title still being sold at full price, this is unacceptable. Square Enix is quick to charge top dollar for older IPs, yet they don’t bother to fix a newer game that doesn’t even run. It doesn’t matter when I bought it—digital purchases should work when I decide to play them. Right now, this game is broken and unplayable.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY takes the familiar foundations of the Final Fantasy series and reshapes them into a colorful turn-based RPG built around exploration, monster collecting, and unusually flexible party customization. Developed and published by Square Enix, the adventure centers on twin siblings Lann and Reynn, who enter the mysterious world of Grymoire while trying to recover their lost memories. What initially appears to be a lighthearted journey filled with miniature characters and cute…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those who are having trouble booting up the game here is a solution: Look for the folder for the game and right click on it and go under properties and change the compatibility to " Run as Administrator". To change the resolution of the game and screen size to full screen: When you press "Play" it will give you 2 boot up options. The second option is the one that lets you change the resolution and screen size, If you do not see these two options go to the manage icon for the game then the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played this game before not on PC. STAY AWAY from this game. its a decent FF game but there's an issue between Square and Steam. the game doesn't load or run UNLESS you do a work around navigating its files to launch there instead of the steam application. That's horrible control from 2 titans and neither feels like they care to fix. i recommend emulator or finding a PS4 copy to hit them where it matters to make them change. letting them get away with one problem only says we don't care about…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Non-Mainline Mainline I went into this game not expecting much. The chibi-like, playful, world has always been a deterrent for me. I'm happy to report that it is IN FACT all that...but more. There's genuinely good moments in this game, combat that goes much deeper than it has any right to. Steam Issues Folks are running into problems here on Steam. For me: - I just needed to go into Properties > Compatibility > Run As Administrator - You may need to change what version of Windows it runs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →looks like a cool and fun game but a bad port as game doesn't want to start, squeenix fix your PC ports
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so underrated wtf It has launch issues but those are EASILY fixable if you type on google instead of typing a negative review. I also recommend the 60FPS patch from Nexusmods (easy drag and drop install on Windows), which also provides borderless window option, aspect ratio, UI scaling and hides the mouse cursor. You'll need to cap your FPS at 60 in the Nvidia control panel for it to work correctly and avoid bugs (don't go over 60FPS). If the battle animations (ie idle state or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its the Final Fantasy game, with Pokemon/Digimon like gameplay! Love it! <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could not play the game it kept crashing so never really got to play.DO NOT BUY IT.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I've never phoned in a review like this, but legit -- I cannot even get past the combat tutorial. The port has dismal performance, the VA is asinine for the original cast, and the characters are pretty insufferable. Listening to any of them talk is like an ordeal. The motion captured models that look like toys also doesn't fit -- and clearly the mo-cap was done at 60 FPS, but the game is locked to 30, which makes every movement and cinematic extremely distracting. I thought something was…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes alot of googling and work arounds to even get the game to boot
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Beautiful monsters, nice graphics overall, and some genuinely funny jokes. The mechanic of building 'towers' of monsters is fresh and interesting, making it fun to explore and experiment with. Cons: The UX/UI is so incredibly bad that it completely overshadowed all the positives for me. There are so many issues with it, seriously... 1. The most annoying feature is the 'scan' mechanic. You can scan a monster during a fight to reveal its weaknesses, which costs an entire turn. This is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only remember bits of this game as when I played it I was going through my darkest patch and every time I see it I remember that darkness so there's a wince but I also remember it helped me through. It has just enough whimsical enough to offset the sad story it is itself. The game will always hold a special place in my heart. It sucks it's attached to such a horrid time but probably wouldn't mean as much to me otherwise. Great game all in all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Same as my refund request note" stuck in 30fps, requires to run as administrator to run, annoying dialogue (adding "the-" frequently in a specific character's dialogues, which is much better done in JP). too much overly explained tutorials, slow and unimpressive combat
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep trying to start the game. Each time it fails and crashes. I literally cannot play the game :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World of FF is Final Fantasy meets Pokemon, where you play as a set of twins, going out to capture all the recognizable monsters from the FF games to create a team and be the very best while also befriending numerous classic Final Fantasy characters. The game is simplicity done well. The stacking mechanics where monsters comes in 3 sizes and the player stack them on top of each other to gain access to different skills and stats is great. Shame that the game is too easy to the point where you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →would love to recommend, but considering you have to physically go in the files so the game can even start, not a great PC release.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game doesnt open from Steam, this shouldnt happen, until they fix it I cannot give a positive review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most of the negative reviews seem to be about how this is unplayable on Steam. Personally, I have no problem launching this game through both PC and Steamdeck. The reason for this negative review is because I will lose brain cells if I listen to Tama speak for another second.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have been interested in this game, so when it went on sale it was a no-brainer. Though, I only have myself to blame for not reading the reviews. Had to discover the 3+ years (KNOWN) issue that Steam doesn't seem to want to fix, in that you have to open the game via an .EXE file instead of the convenient and traditional way. Although, for me, that still didn't work. Just get this on another system and don't give Steam the money. As they keep blatantly ignoring the issue and rake in the dough.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't work properly!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 SteamDeck Game, runs at 31 FPS easily A great game, Traditional Final Fantasy game with monster collecting. Can sink hundreds of hours easily! Fully voiced acted. The game looks goofy at first since you stack 2 monsters on your head or 1 on top and ride the other, but its really fun. Definitely better played on a SteamDeck since it doesn't really require a powerful PC and controller friendly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game used to work back when I bought it 4 years ago but now as of October 6th 2025 the game crashes as soon as it launches from pressing the play button. Multiple people in the steam discussions are complaining about this and there still isn't a fix. Square Enix selling a game that requires workarounds to actually launch without crashes is extremely cringe. I should be able to launch the game just by pressing the play button.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you didn't have to jump through hoops to get around the 30FPS lock on this, I would probably recommend it, but let's be perfectly clear about one thing- the English voice acting for Tama is the worst you'll ever hear, and listening to that voice for extended periods of time is going to tear your brain in half, resulting in you either becoming a gibbering idiot or turning into a remorseless serial killer. Switch that ♥♥♥♥ to Japanese immediately.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont buy it the game doesnt launch if you try opening it from steam :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →every time i reinstall this for my kids its the same nightmare i need to look around for hours to find the other .exe its a pain in the ass just dont buy this crap game its not even good! its the worst FF ever why its called FF i cant say cause it Sht!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is bad on so many levels, got it on sell looking for a pokiemon clone and feel ripped off. the game focuses more on stuff you don't care about such as making god female or nagging at the only male in the game.I don't honestly think there is a story here and im not up for a lecture so im just not gonna play it. also has bad tech issues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm giving this game a thumbs down mostly because of technical and personal issues with the game. I mostly played through it because of a sunk-cost fallacy I feel and there is legitimately a decent story TRYING to be told here but it failed terribly because of the writing. Here's a full list my gripes with the game. Technical Issues: - The game will almost assuredly crash for you as soon as you attempt to start the game if you do not go to the games file location and set both "WOFF.exe" and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game does not work on windows 11 well. This is another very bad port by square enix which is not being fixed or updated for modern systems. There are numerous fixes available that may or may not work if you search through the discussion boards. Unfortunately the controls are terrible, controller support seems to work only for xbox controllers not playstation. Overall sadly done port that may or may not work, square enix really needs to do a better job on these ports.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →never launch correctly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it to get all mirages. Did it. It's quite good and fun. Hope more people would enjoy it in the years to come. Oh, and you must run the game in hte compatibility mode (windows 7). Otherwise it wont work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a weird experience, it is a neat nostaligia trip and lots of fan service. But man this game is so slow, thank goodness they included a fast forward button. The art style and combat was good enough but some of those VAs were plain out awful. By the end of the game i was just waiting for it to be over. I don't know why but that xp gain is very slow as well. It is a mid game, with a mid story and nothing too much stands out about it but it is at least worth checking out if you have a…
