unlabelledView post →That color scheme. This looks like a screenshot from that alternate history Wolfenstein game where Nazis win WW2 and take over the USA.

unlabelledView post →Apparently there’s a Nazi hollering about how Wolfenstein is anti-Nazi and yeah man that’s why billions of people buy the game, realize that you are disliked enough to be a villain in a major gaming franchise

I love some of the details, like how they're still not quite sure what to call it with its first-person perspective and 3D graphics so it's a 'virtual reality' game.
unlabelledView post →Get psyched! Blasting its way through Nazi fortresses 34 years ago today: Wolfenstein 3D! Released as shareware (first episode free and you bought the rest) on May 5th 1992, this 'virtual reality' game, as it's described here, laid more groundwork for a generation of first-person shooters.
unlabelledView post →Do one thing, when you start. Turn 'Resolution Scaling' in Graphics options, 'to' OFF. It will get rid of that low-res blurriness. Adjust the graphics to your performance liking, after that. This is a pretty good game. I played it on 'Challenge', and got fried a decent amount of times, It's tricky in a good way. Your 'Special Weapons' are the 'only way' to get through, so practice your combat motions. I can see some people getting motion sickness if they stand up, so remain seated.

He was very strict about what video games my brother & I could play, one big rule being that we couldn’t play games where we killed humans (i.e. monsters were fair game). He let us play the Castle Wolfenstein games.

unlabelledView post →This is a lazy cashgrab with 4 missions, one voice actress and shameful, blurry graphics. You can probably have some fun for a couple of hours but don't you dare to buy this at full price, ever.

unlabelledView post →Take this recommendation with a grain of salt. I think this game gets a lot more hate than it deserves. I want to start off by saying, it took me all of 2 hours to finish this game start to finish. So I definitely DO NOT recommend buying it for full price. Get it on sale. A lot of the reviews I read before checking out the game seem to have a lot to do with people who have comfort issues with VR games. unlabelledView post →The textures aren't as much of an issue as people here are claiming, I actually noticed once that a texture was a bit blurry because there was text on it and I was kind of far away. That doesn't make this game good though. Before each mission (including the first one,) you sit through 5+ minutes of unskippable dialogue. You also have to "hack" robots which requires looking around them and using a tool to open a panel that is flashing. The problem is these panels have to be interacted with very…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I salute Bethesda for being one of the only AAA publishers to explore VR, and this game at least does a better job of justifying its existence than Doom VFR in that it actually features some original content, but it still feels more like a proof-of-concept than an actual game. I like the concept of being a dude stuck in a chair having to remotely pilot robots (since that's basically what we're doing in VR anyway), but each of the machines gets a paltry one mission devoted to it, and even the…

unlabelledView post →Had to refund this. First VR game to give me motion sickness. The tutorial has you going up and down in a lift. Your head says it's happening, but your body disagrees. When you finally get the ability to move, you slide across the floor, as if you were playing a standard shooter. Again, your eyes see it, but your body doesn't feel it. After 20 minutes of this I had to give up. If you can stand it, I'm sure it's got potential, but I'll stick to games that let you teleport or walk for the time…
