54 of 54 · most liked firstDisclosure: I was a backer on the kickstarter. This game was painful to finish, the whole experience was buggy, the rabbit section was so janky, and the RC car section wasn't much better. The puzzles (the part of the game that convinced me to back the kickstarter) are incredibly easy, short, and there's literally only 5 of them. Incredibly disappointing. The story is mediocre and predictable. The endings are boring and unsatisfying. Speaking of the ending, I was unable to choose an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This title is not hard for me to rate: definitely NOT RECOMMENDED! There are some positive aspects to this game. It tries to drag the player in by telling a story of remembering childhood memories. And it pursues many different ways of engaging the player. However, that being said, the last point is also the first big negative of the game as it appeared to me that the developers couldn't really decide on what they want their game to be. As a player you are confronted with many different game…

Visually Where the Bees Make Honey is beautiful to look at so I decided to take a chance on it despite the reviews. Overall I enjoyed the game., it is pretty linear you can't really mess up the progression. The puzzles were not that challenging but still provided me with a couple hours of entertainment with much better visuals than some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like a deeply personal student project in which developer Brian Wilson - presumably NOT the one responsible for Pet Sounds - grapples with his loss of innocence and longs for the days in which he had no responsibilities. And hey, if you can learn to code AND work your way through an existential crisis in one sweep, good for you, but that doesn't mean you should slap a price on it and sell it on digital storefronts like it's an actual game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Are you kidding me? Is it a joke? Because I'm not getting it. Nothing works. Nothing is fun. The controls are the worst I have seen in the last twenty years, controlling the girl or the rabbit is absolutely miserable, like driving a truck. The damn mouse cursor appears on the middle of the screen in every new scene and does not disappear with controller input. You have to move it away manually every. single. time. Nothing makes any sense. One moment you're rummaging through some office, then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Where the Bees Make Honey" is a game about nostalgia and lost innocence; by which, I mean it will make you nostalgic for better games and force you to confront the reality that just because you backed it on Kickstarter doesn't mean it will be any good. But kidding aside. I am a huge fan of indie games, and believe that the passion that new creators put into their games really pushes these kinds of games to the next level. So I was incredibly disappointed to discover how little love and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where the Bees Make Honey hit me in a weird way that made me nostalgic for aspects of my youth. The edges of the experience aren't perfectly smooth, but life is like that too. If you're looking for a contemplative experience with some very interesting puzzle mechanics, this is a good choice.

With powerful writing, beautiful visuals, exciting ever changing gameplay and perspectives and a delicious atmosphere, Where the Bees Make Honey, is outstanding. 10/10 A full detailed video review can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UgqWfOMyOk&feature=youtu.be Plot: It’s a narrative that has been written by someone who has a deep understanding of every day human psychic and the effects that the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look elsewhere for a contemplative puzzle game. The puzzles are meh and the action sequences are horrid. Camera behavior and controls that make me want to hurl my controller. See other reviews for more detailed rants. Maybe this will help me learn not to flush money down the drain on Kickstarter.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the variety in this game and the story telling is amazing. I got a little emotional on the bunny level, both when I couldn't make the jump and when I got through to the end and got that lovely voice over. Many of the levels are challenging and I love the puzzle elements to it all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That's the worst game I've ever played. I don't even know why they have graphics options up to ultra, they obviously didn't bother to address the graphics. It's blurry and skips frames constantly, no matter what settings are applied. The controls to move and interact are strange and unclear. The story line is almost non-existent. Don't get it. Even for free. Don't waste your life.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't a strong recommendation, but I don't think this game deserves to be as negative as it is. For being a nearly one person team, the vision, story and theme are great. It is a pretty short experience, but I don't think that detracts from the idea that's there, although 1 or 2 more sections to help smooth out the transitions behind some of the ideas would help. The issues: - There are several visual bugs that are present, albeit minor for the most part. - Controller support isn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the story of a young woman who's upset that nobody at her entry level job thinks she's as special as her parents told her she was. Eventually she winds up crying in a corner reminiscing about being 8 and having no responsibilities. Puzzles are glitchy, simplistic, and seemingly unrelated to each other. There's a few basic Fez style puzzles where you have to rotate the scene around. Then there are weird parts where you're a rabbit, and a remote controlled car, and there's a halloween…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You get an hour of playtime, two if you count being forced to play this buggy mess twice for both endings, which is just not enough for the full price of the game. There are a couple of puzzle levels, janky platforming and weird cutscenes. the screenshots make this game looks somewhat cool but playing it is a pain. Stay away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That was based on a good idea. I backed this game on Kickstarter. In the end though, I didn't manage to play it. Maybe it's my computer which lacks enough graphics power, but the 3d graphics in the game had serious flaws when I was trying to play. Objects kept moving arbitary, movement of the character was difficult and she constantly got stuck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the Concept sounds good the execution is not. I found the Game(Where the Bees Make Honey) to be more like a linear story that you progress through. While I did not complete the game, I simply had enough playing around in it! While the game is not bad, I felt it would be better suited for children then adults. What makes this worse is the fact that I found a few bugs that where rather annoying, the game takes forever to load/start. If you use the mouse and go off screen with it and click…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only good thing going for this game was the soundtrack. Only had a play time of MAYBE 45 min. Most of your time is spent dealing with buggy controls. The art is alright, but mostly just off-putting. The puzzles aren't hard at all. There is no direction for the story. Supposedly this game is meant to motivate the player, but I just felt like I wasted my time, attention, and most importantly, my money. I'd rather spend the $10 on some crappy DLC for another game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very fun an inventive. Constantly plays with your perspective in interesting ways.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only played a little and I found it painfully boring. I usually don't refund games but this one I had to because I never want to see it again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i saw that this had mostly negative reviews and i remember it coming out and being excited :( i finally tried it and thought it looked lighthearted HOWEVER now playing it theres a meaning/ the woman is in a dead end job and it seems to me like shes having memories or flashbacks of her childhood (that we play) ive not had many hours but im excited to play more : )
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was quite intrigued when I first saw a trailer for Where The Bees Make Honey. I've really enjoyed other isometric puzzle games like Captain Toad and Monument Valley. So when the Kickstarter was launched to help fund the game I threw in enough for a digital copy of the game. I really didn't know what to expect or maybe I should say I thought it might be a fairly traditional puzzle game. Now that I've played through this game I can definitely say that this is actually quite a different kind…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very simple game, definitely not worth its asking price. Controls are janky and the game tries to be 3 different games at once
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea, but poorly executed. The controls are terrible, the story is intriguing but too soft-focus to know what's going on, and after a while I just quit playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Where the Bees Make Honey" is an interesting enough game. The story is intriguing, though the game itself leaves you wondering wth you're supposed to do. It's also short... VERY short.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like it, but there were times the mechanics were absolutely unplayable. The plot was also not very clear or interesting.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the melancholic vibe, the narrative and the music, but the gameplay is, to be honest, garbage, buggy and barely there, so that it just becomes a frustrating experinence more than anything else.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts out interesting but quickly succumbs to feature creep. I can see the potential in Where the Bees Make Honey but it really feels like the developer is in over their head and wanted to do too much outside of their comfort zone. The game starts falling apart by the end where the mechanics in certain mini-games and levels absolutely do not work as intended or are half-baked and the controls become incredibly clunky and inaccurate to a frustrating degree. The story also takes too many…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is 50 ideas held together loosely by string while it swings wildly from nice animation to pretty bad. So far it's worth the 1 buck I spent on it, but I'm pretty happy I didn't spend more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a beautiful game. I loved it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean it was ok. A little bit buggy in some places, but an intimate story with a good heart.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oof. I found myself being actively irritated by this game. It's an interesting concept: a young woman is stuck in a dead-end, soul killing job and finds herself reminiscing about her childhood. But this game feels like it's still in its development stage. The sound levels between the narrator and the game effects is off balance, which triggered me to frantically reach for the volume button on several occasions. There's no explanation of the in game controls - you just kind of have to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I once added this game to my wishlist and forgot about it, only to one day find it in my library somehow, so I probably got it for free? Anyws, the game is short, but visually interesting. Has trippy vibes done well. The mechanics change often and I was never bored. I resonated with some lines of the narration, while some others were cringe or just random (for example, there was nothing about feminism or the protag being oppressed by men until a random line "I matter because I'm a woman. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really don't recommend this game. basically none of it was enjoyable. pros: a cute concept cons: cute concept poorly executed--ok look, i get it. most of us are unhappy with adulthood, unhappy with how our lives turned out, unhappy with the current state of the world. but a lot of that's already been said, taken apart, reassembled, examined from every angle with a microscope. if you really want to be able to do something with regret and nostalgia and feeling betrayed by the world not being…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had to check this game out because of the negative reviews and I discovered they were mostly correct. I waited until it was on sale for $.099 and found a game that really wasn't fun to play, and not worth my buck. It's about a girl complaining about the realities of life (wah!) who made a game to tell all about it. Unfortunately, they didn't care about the playability of the game or if people would care to play the game in order to receive their message. Save your dollar or 2 and find…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really, really tried to give this game a chance... But the platforming is God awful. There's almost never a walking or running animation. The player character moves so slowly that you wonder if you're doing something wrong.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One hour of playtime? less than stellar directions. That bunny would not jump when i told it to and thats the only reason it took me 1.4 hours instead of 1. Not worth 10$, but i got it in my humble bundle. I will probably not be doing a second playthrough to get all the achievements, which is saying something because usually im an achievement hunter.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't write reviews. It's not my thing. I don't usually feel compelled to tell people if I loved something or hated it, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This isn't a review, it's a warning. Don't waste your time. The big takeaway from this game is to live your life...this is not living. I want to uninstall this experience from my brain. PROS: • The game is so short, I'll forget it existed. CONS: • There are barely any options, just invert axis, and turn sensitivity from Throw Up Instantly to Still Too Fast,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm kind of mixed on this game, but mostly, I just don't think it's very good, either narratively or mechanically. It clearly very badly wants to say something, but doesn't have anything really worthwhile to say. It's very shallow thematically, and while it does have some interesting and somewhat artistic chapters, they're bogged down by a sort of mechanical jank that can be frustrating to work around. The best parts of the game are the perspective puzzles, but they're tragically short and not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →0/10 Where are the bees?! Some serious issues with janky/buggy controls and audio issues aswell. The story is incredibly boring and I think it has a serious case of meth addiction turned into game...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where the Bees make honey is supposedly a story about remembering childhood that is unfortunatly very buggy. Aesthetics: Truth to be told the artstyle is either hit or miss. While I really like some cutscenes and the feel of some levels, it can look extremly unpolished in others (e.g. the designb of the kid). Same with the sound effects. The completed level sound for example is pretty obnoxious. Story: You play as a woman who is stuck in a dead end job who remembers her childhood. Or at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Though not without some minor bugs, this game is incredibly peaceful, and simply enjoyable to play. The stand out best parts are the voice actresses incredible performance, and the "Ghouls and Ghosts" song which I enjoy a lot. I played this game on PlayStation a few years back, and returning to it, it seemed less buggy than I remember, so I do not know if it has been patched or if the PlayStation port was worse, but it definitely played a bit better. I will admit up front that the game is not…

I couldnt get through the first stage with the flip upsidedown mechanic cuz she got stuck in a platform. even after redownloading the game i still had the issue.
