60 of 118 · most liked firstI have played lots of Werewolf, One-night werewolf and Town of Salem over the years. I will always recommend them to anyone as it is simply an amazing genre. Werewolves Within seems like it is a great interpretation of the classic game, using VR in the best way possible in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately I can only guess whether the game is great or not cause I have not been able to play it. More than a year afters its release and the playerbase is still so small that it seemed impossible…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CRIMINAL THIS GAME IS STILL FOR SELL. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! IT IS DEAD. NO ONE PLAYS! This game has inspired me to create my own VR experience called "empty lobby" A pay for play experience where you sit in an empty lobby. *no refunds* Toxic environment filled with jerks. The only people still playing this game are a-holes that abuse new players. It took three days before enough people were online to play. There is no solo play. So you must wait for enough players to log in. After a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have ever played the Mafia game using a deck of cards or have the Werewolf set you know exactly what this game is. It is a clever social game where the werewolves attempt to allude the villagers for one night, and everyone has to figure out who the werewolves are. There are multiple roles, but not enough where it is clunky or too complicated. I am used to playing the old Mafia version with a deck of cards so coming in to this game I am used to having multiple nights where people are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I've been looking at this game to be released for a couple months now, but like most of you I was shocked and turned away from the $30 price tag ($40 for someone of you on different points on the globe). After a couple beers I said F it and bought the game. The game is amazingly fun. The art direction and the world it created is a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to be a part of. Everything is well polished and the game is simple enough for anyone to jump in and start playing. Right…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a VR "lite" version of Town of Salem. If you enjoy social games involving trickery and deception I highly recommend this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the people playing 30 minutes and saying no servers. Go here werewolflobbies.com (it's mostly active in the evening times). I love this game. Don't get me wrong, I have played a lot of rounds in this game and got to know the community and that is very tiny in size filter through a lot of people. But dear god when I say that the more I play the more that the game is broken, and also tons of toxic people are in the lobbies. The people not being able to report these players to any moderators…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for one night and for the rest of my time owning the game I have never found a lobby despite there being ones open.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics are awesome. It's fun until a group of trolls joins your game. (They GET OFF on vote kicks and giggle like little girls.) Then it's dead. I guess they have more fun sitting around CIRCLE JERKING EACH OTHER. If you can mentally deal with immature peasants, I really recommend it. Don't forget to BYOB.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They should make this game free its mostly dead not worth its price it is fun though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Werewolves Within has a cross-platform player community that's best described as about two dozen people, most of them Playstation users. Occasionally there are waves of new players that filter in, which then slowly attrition away. Peak times are in the late evening, US time. Any other time and there's often no one playing at all. Paying attention to the lobby tracker at werewolflobbies.com is a necessity as 6 players is the minimum needed to do more than sit and stare at each other. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept of the game is great, although one of the roles is broken and that sucks (houndsman). I got stuck in 1 loby with 4 people who only wanted to sit and chat about racist and offensive topics. It completly ruinted the game experience for me. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had been able to just leave and find a new lobby with new players, but every time I tried i got sent back to the exact same lobby making it unplayable. As for the sound issues i didn't encounter more here than I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Point blank this game is fun , lots of fun . It's cross platform so there is always a game to jump in . And the time limit for each round is spot on . Thank you Ubisoft !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Werewolves Within is a social deduction game built around conversation, suspicion, deception, and the unpredictable behavior of other players. Developed and published by Ubisoft, it transforms the traditional hidden-role party-game formula into a virtual reality experience set in the medieval village of Gallowston. Five to eight participants gather together while werewolves secretly hide among the villagers, leaving everyone to determine who is telling the truth before the creatures…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The whole idea is great, but the community, while still alive is small. (go to https://werewolflobbies.com/ to see current lobbies) Hands aren't motion controlled, and you need Uplay. I hope this game will eventually get bigger
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a Vive user, wait to buy this. All of the Playstation VR users, which is the majority of the player base, are impossible to understand. All of their mic audio is very choppy. This alone ruins the game for Vive players. I have cable internet with 26ms ping, 121mbps down,/12mbps up. Everyone else hears me just fine. The menus are unresponsive. It's even unclear when the matchmaking is searching for a game. Nobody will join a match you serve. I don't know if maybe PSVR users can't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overpriced game with no players, no updates, a bad lobby search system and requires an Ubisoft login. There is literally no reason to buy this game unless you have at least 5 other friends to join you. It should be made free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not allow the use of Oculus touch controllers, you have to plug in a third party controller to play. Also, despite being a fun game, hardly anyone is playing. It is a small community where everyone knows each other. There are a select few (out of a very small number to begin with) that are highly toxic and will gang up on you until you want to leave. They don't accept new players. Within a few hours of playing, I was told to uninstall the game for making an incorrect decision, despite…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some people may be scared away because of the price tag, it does seem quite high for a game with not much content. I guess you could be right, maybe a £15 price tag would be more realistic. If you have 100 Uplay Club points, you may be able to get 20% off if you can actually get Uplay to issue the voucher. I've been playing this on Vive, not sure if the Oculus version is out yet, so this review is based on my experience using it with the Vive. Gameplay The game itself is noting new. I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve never been able to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like others have said, this is similar to Town of Salem. The game gets a lot of flack because at times it can be difficult to find a lobby. I mostly play on the weekends around 8:30PM (EST) and rarely have a problem getting a full lobby. The previous reviews are correct that the community is small and there's a good chance that you'll be in matches with the same people, but I have to contest the claims that the community is toxic. Have I met people who were toxic and not fun to play with?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this as part of the bundle and it doesn't appear that anybody is playing this game as of May 2019.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable in its current form. Most players come from PSVR and their voices are clipped and uninteligeable. Vive controller support is also bad as Steam claims you need a different controller when starting the game. A big mess right now. Stay away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite VR game, and has outpaced all other games I need to play from this season. Seriously, you know when you have a huge backlog but you can't stop playing that one game? Werewolves Within is that game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are no motion controls....count on ubisoft to make poor decisions for every game they come out with, I can't even launch the stupid game because i dont have a controller to press the button they want me to press to get past the opening screen. Refunding this game and never buying another ubisoft game again, they do nothing but disappoint me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking at videos of gameplay online and the concept of the game indicates we were onto a winner unfortunately the community on this game is dead which just means no fun to be had. Almost an hour sitting in lobbies and was unable to play a single game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have aN Oculus Rift with touch and this is still my go to game. This game is beautiful. The scenery is like being in a Tim Burton movie mixed with a ride at Disney World. The name of the game? Lying to strangers about what you are. No two games are the same and the head tracking and voice are astounding. It does require a controller but, this is the most immersive game I've played to date. Cross platform between PSVR, Vive, and Rift so there's always someone to play with! The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was by far the BEST social VR game ever made. I played it on PSVR & PC. I spent TONS of hours playing with other people met some awesome people. This game needs to be revisited we need a new one or some type of DLC. I really hope the dev team reads this and thinks about doing something again. As of now this game is dead its a shame.....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really miss this game! Used to be a lovely game on drinking nights or just to chill out. Played it back then when it got released on PSVR and always used to love it so much. Sadly the game died out and the developers in Ubisoft are not interested in updating it anymore. But sure if Ubisoft or another developer makes a game like this, and keeps it frequently updated it would do well! You can still find lobbies through Facebook groups but it's rare. So ++++++For the game. Big minus for letting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is a great example as to why you should never pay for a game that requires you to rely on other people to play.. the servers are completely dead.. so unless you feel like sitting in an empty lobby for hours on end hoping people will join and wait with you until the game is full enough to play (which i do not) id recommend you dont buy this junk.. not worth a penny
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was never able to get a match started due to low player numbers. The VR experience is on the shallow side. A satisfactory technical demo which leaves much more to be desired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No playerbase at all. I sat in a lobby for 30 minutes waiting and not a single person joined. There are no touch controlle support. You must you an xbox controller. This is a big missed oprotunity for the game makers. All they needed to do was add the touch controllers atleast and have motion for them disabled. Even then you should still add motion here considering how the gameplay is and the emotes lasting for 10 years. This is a horribly setup game. The most major thing for me was that I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No playerbase, horrible starting asking price, and everyone knows the anonymous internet is the real wolf. No matter how hard you try to avoid bad apples or try to maintain playerbase, there will always be as holes. With no report system, or vote or agreement, some games if not all of them can always have a violent twist...not cheeky, violent. Theres a difference. Of just 5 hours of play, i never once picked up this game again due to horrible experience. Its locked in a place of unwelcomed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completely void of players even with the current sale underway. It could be a good game but I will never be able to play it and find out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game, if you've played the table top version this is the same just slightly modified to make it work online. It's a lot of fun and so far I've had no problems finding a game. The corss platform seems to be working well. I haven't laughed with a group of randoms this much in a long time. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've played Town of Salem, you'll know exactly how this game works. There are fewer roles but the VR immersion is crazy real. Leaning in to speak to someone works really well, especially when you see there's lip synching for whenever anyone talks and the game tries to figure out your mood and throws up subtle hand gestures on its own, as well as manually allowing you to fire off gestures. This game is also crossplay between PSVR, Vive, and Oculus so Uplay is needed to handle the cross-play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Werewolves Within is basically Ubisoft's take on One Night: Ultimate Werewolf... Nothing more, nothing less. The key difference to other virtual table top games I have tried so far is that Werewolves Within, thanks to its polished mechanics and the advantages of being built from the ground up for VR, manages to keep all the magic of the original game intact, as if I was playing the game in the same room with my friends. With the exception of some occasional, non game breaking glitches, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game doesn't open.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not working with my oculus q2 control, stuck at the intro buttons dont work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great times, especially if you have friends with PSVRs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel sad giving this a thumbs down. but when I think if I can recommend it...I can't. It's a fun game. it's well made. it's completely original for a vr game. everything should be great. but this game needs people to work and it just doesn't have the numbers. There are many immersion breaking things that happen during a game that are not the developers fault like animals making noises on peoples mics or mics that are just garbage for some reason and sound like crap. I just can't recommend…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably a good game, but completely implayable because its always void of players . Despite multiple attempts to play I have never been able to.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was hard to decide based on the price if I wanted to get this game or not. So I watched a few people live strreaming the game and they had me laughing just from watching so I said screw it and bought it. I'm so glad I did totally worth the money, if you bought a VR headset you owe it to yourself to try out this game! Yes it is buggy and can be fustrrating at times but the laughs and friends you make is well worth the price and dealing with the bugs! Must buy if you have VR IMO!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Josh Ruben and company deliver a quality horror comedy...that became incredibly relevant after it was filmed. #WerewolvesWithin is an excellent horror flick and video game adaptation. #moviepodcast #HorrorMovies #31daysofhalloween scottsself-indulgentmovieblog.blogspot.com/2026/10/31-d...
unlabelledView post →Played a lot of this on the psvr years ago. it was a lot of fun, and one of the best vr games at the time. would love to see it resurrected.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to recommend this game, but without an actual player base, I cannot. I adore ultimate werewolf. This game was the perfect way to satiate that need for the social deception game. Sadly, it got old, and while I enjoy playing, it appears enough to have lost its steam with never any lobbies open. Its a shame. This should and could be a big game again, especially on more mainstream devices like the quest since this game isn't intensive. Alas, it isn't happening...at least not from Ubisoft.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if only this 10/10 game had a bigger community, i can literally play hours and hours on end from how much fun each round is. one of my favorite games of all time. *chefs kiss*
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome. It's sometimes hard to get people online, but when the community is on, it's one of the best games I've played. www werewolflobbies com is the resource to go to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The most replayable game for the Vive so far. Werewolves Within is a game of bluffs, logic, and pure luck that requires knowledge of how every role in the game works independently and in tandem. Each round plays differently even if stay with the same group of people. The theming, animations, and music all come together to form a unique experience for a considerably old party game. The community is somewhat small yet mostly dedicated to playing by the rules and the occasional troll or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun social game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Owner of htc Vive since initial launch with good sized VR library. Wasn't sure this would work that well both because a new type of VR experience and risk of troll player community. But about 24hrs in and over 9nhours of playtime shows that concern was misplaced. The community so far is fairly small but growing and no trolls experienced so far, and lots of good humour, laughs and who-dunnit mystery type party play. It takes a few games to learn the various roles and you probably will make some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One thing I can say is the game is fun, the concept has been done before, Mafia, Town of Salem, One Night Werewolf to name a few games, one difference is, this game is much simpler. For a $30 price tag, there isn't enough depth, not enough roles, and roles don't have unquie features really. The game desperately needs motion tracking but doesn't have it. It being on other platforms as well like PSVR makes it suffer from bad microphone quality which is crucial to the game. It seems the $30 price…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game; it's a lot of fun and it's great that they are going cross platform. That said, I'm getting terrible audio quality with other players. I've verified the problem is not on my end and is very common with vive to PSVR platers. It really breaks the immersion. Once that's fixed, I have no problem recommending this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Must buy if you enjoy the social benefits of VR, worth every penny even though I was tempted to pass on this title due to the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, extremely social. A fun game to try and out wit others. You cam be a right evil sod throwing some under the bus accusing them of being a werewolf when its really one. Its great when your the werewolf and the manage to most people on side to frame some one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much fun! Also hilarious just to spectate on Twitch or before a game starts. Probably my best VR experience in a completely unexpected way :-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never played this type of game before, but I understood the concept...with that said this game is brilliant, it is a must buy, most of the players seem to be PSVR users but everyone seems to play right and I'm having a blast...10/10 . Its a nice break from Onward "which I love" well worth the money
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: It's Mafia in VR, and it's very well-polished. Cross-platform play with PSVR and Oculus players. Rounds are quick. Genuinely good. With the right people and a few rounds under your belt it's hard not to really get into the meat of the game, which is lieing effectively :D Cons: Seems a bit too expensive for what's there. (currently $30) Motion controller support is somehow totally broken on my end. They just don't work. I *need* a standard gamepad to play the…
