The fact that you can't see ALL of your team on pitch is pretty detrimental. You only see the person with the ball during the match. Are my defence keeping their shape? Are my strikers struggling to find space? Is my midfield overrun? No idea.

I’ve been playing football management games all the way back to the original Football Manager, through the Championship Manager era and right back to the current iteration of FM. Throughout this period I have fond memories of games such as Ultimate Soccer Manager, LMA Manager and FIFA Manager, and to me these were always good stable mates to the more tactical approach of the FM series. Recently, I’ve burnt out on the FM series, I’ve hardly played it this year to be honest so I was really…

Are we Football? Let's face it: Outside of Burgerland (and even they catch up slowly), everybody loves Football. It's a real sport, so we are Football, because pretty much everybody at one time or another played it. But is this Football? I write this review in english because most so far most are german and don't help people who don't speak the language and since we're on Steam: I'm trying to help out but the first segment will sound like ancient hyroglyphs to most non-german people.…

To play this game the way it is meant, you have to be able to read fast. Faster then i can at least. There are many timed questions with 4 possible answers. When im finished reading the question, the time is up. Football Manager games should be relaxing, tactical. Not a test how fast you can read a foreign language. Please make the timers optional!

This game has the right idea, but is in dire need of patching. There are some baffeling design choices that are unexpected from such an experienced team, and there are some additional annoyances that are easy to fix. 1. Let me start with this: The game is easy. Very easy. Sadly, it is easy for the wrong reasons. Having a more accessable and therefore easier management game is not bad, but maybe the only way to challenge the more complex managers out there. But there is a basic truth to these…

First impressions? Not that good but has potential. The UI is bloated and confusing, the upside is that you can delegate most of the tasks so you can just do that if you feel overwhelmed and get into it in a later date. The UI in itself feels generic and boring, did mention bloated already so you're quite busy looking for thing...you do get used to it at some point, I'm in my third season right now. A lot of quality of life improvements are due, more often than ever I found myself using the…

While I have enjoyed this game, and will probably continue to play it for a while, I wouldn't recommend it in its current state. There are several issues with it, and I will go into some detail about issues I have found. Keep in mind that I have played about 10 seasons in different leagues and in different nations (with different players, of course). First of all, matches certainly seem to be stacked against the human player (not surprsingly). Regardless of the skill of your penalty takers,…

Most bugs have been fixed in the last 4 big updates. Patch 5 with a focus on the transfer market is coming soon. Game is a lot of fun. Note, this is NOT a Sega Football Manager "Clone". You act on a higher level in WaF. You are more in the shoes of the clubs manager, instead of the actual player managing trainer. WaF focuses on multi season development instead of micro management for each game,

If you liked EA's Football Manager, or the Anstoss series, you will enjoy this game. It is simpler than Sega's Football Manager and that is what i prefer. I do not wan't and need a full grown simulation, i rather prefer a faster pace and a little less complexity. If certain things get fixed and patched it is a pretty solid game.

All you see during matches are some 'pictures' of players 'shoveling' over the terrain :( No really actions, amusement 1/10 :( For that price they should have done a lot more ! Hope they will change that soon or it's a no go.

I'm leaving a positive review because I would like to encourage the development of this game and others like this one. I have been a hardcore Football Manager gamer since it was called Championship Manager, and before that I used to play games like PC Fútbol (PC Calcio, PC Premier...) and Ultimate Soccer manager, so, been playing this genre since around 1995. I haven't bought any new Football Manager games since FM2015 because I don't think the upgrade is worth it. It's essentially the same…

The old feelings are back if you have played the Anstoss series many years ago. It plays more fluid and way faster than Sega FM but of course it isn't as complex. Still a very fun game for the shorter evenings and for the game itself it is only the beginning. The development will for sure continue. Don't forget to grab a community patch like from FM Zocker...a must have!

I really like this game. It has its issues - some bugs to be fixed and features that are missing - but I really enjoyed this direct competitor to Football Manager and found several aspects that I would love for Football Manager to take note of and possibly add their own twist to. This review is really more of a WAF vs. FM22, so I'll structure my biggest points as to which things I preferred from each game. Things I Feel WAF Does Better: - Negotiations in general are more fun and hands on. FM22…

Great game made by German football manager developer veterans with tons of leagues and teams which keeps on getting better and better! A lot of the issues players had in the beginning have been addressed and fixed through regular updates or will be addressed in future updates, It does not have official licensing but that is actually a positive in my opinion as it gives a more immersive feeling of an alternate football universe where you can lead your low-level team to international glory. it brings me back to the nostalgia of the mid-00's. It could be fun to watch your club rise through the ranks and enjoy a lighter, though still immersive, experience compared to FM. However, the clunky interface is very frustrating and needs a lot more work and polish to the overall game, navigation, and tutorial to be considered worthwhile.

Developers still working on the game. While I agree it should have been labeled Early Access, I don't understand the useless downgrading. They have released three updates since the release to work on the bugs and balance of the game. Instead of bashing such Publishers and Developers you should provide constructive feedback to get the game you want. Either in the steam forums or for the German community the so called "Anstoß Jünger Forum". Not as addicting as Anno 1800 or EA Footballmanager…

Bought this hoping it could be a replacement for FM...but sadly it isnt even close to CM 01/02, and its 20 years old. Player profiles have no attributes or numbers etc, they contain pictures telling you strengths and weaknesses, how can you compare players in certain areas? Also figues for salary etc are way off. Its quirky and niche, and potential could be there but in terms of a real life simulation its not even close

Sorry but I've given this about 10 hours now. This is just a bad game. We are Football is this combination of things that are too easy and things that are too complicated. Not "difficult" complicated but just made unnecessarily complicated by the interface and the utter lack of information that's given you. So first it's easy to get players via transfer that are far better than anyone on your squad. The game itself isn't hard to win at, which I can live with. Sometimes I don't want to play a…

I have put a ton of hours into this game. It's not easy to deduce a lot of things and the help available is okay at times, but for others, non-existent. Like, you can build youth camps all over the world. Once I realized this, I started having tons of talented youth coming up my ranks. Is it documented anywhere? No. It would also help to have numerical scales for things such as morale, etc. Still, I must enjoy it if I'm still playing it.

First really enjoyable Football manager game I've played since "The Manager" from 1991. It's well done, tons of features, but you still can choose to use assistants where you don't want to handle too much micro management. Sure, it would be nice if they had real teams and player names, but a very advanced editor is included so you can change lots of stuff, such as adding your own teams and players. I also haven't experienced any bugs or crashes yet.

I really tried my best to like the game but I find the entire experience lacking. For sure WAF tries to be different in a lot of things and I do find the interface refreshing and modern in comparison to FM. With the existing patch of FM Zocker (there on Day 1!), it is such a nice experience. I like the remote play option and it feels like back in the A3 days, but with a nice UI. Started with my buddy already a season and I guess we will spend lots of hours in this game! :) Edit after some more hours: Yes, there is stuff that could be tweaked (e.g. market value, transfer behaviour, tweaks in the game display), but still. Game is heavily scripted. Some might find it bad, some might not care at all. In english version there are things, tactical choices that seem weired and give you absolutely no hint of what they are or what you do. Counter-pressing: day and night. What does that even mean? It is akin to the defunct FIFA Manager series (last of which was 2013). Compared to FM it is less of a manager (head coach) game and more of a club owner game. The developers of this game really do listen to feedback and make changes and improvements to the game. In this game you'll progress through a season a lot quicker than in the Sega FM and your main focus is the long term development of the club, instead of spending hours per matchday.
