We Are Football vs. Football Manager We Are Football Football Manager ✔ Nice interface ✖ Excel spreadsheet ✖ Needs better explanations about the way it works ✔ You know the drill ✔ Faster weeks & seasons ✖ Very slow progress ✖ Match engine is sh*t, but it's their very first try at it ✖ Match engine is also sh*t, and has been for 15 years ✖ Player…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What to make of this game...? After about 30 hours in and watching a great LetsPlay I think I never had so much fun with such a "bad" game. I wish I could giva a neutral review but right now it is a little bit more like miss than hit. For now at least, I'm positive it will be patched some day later and I'll be thrilled to change my review once it happens. First of all: Certain parts of the game are absolutely fun and it is a very good and - in my case - stable manager as I had no crashes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game bring back memories of the FIFA Manager 13 14 I love back during 2013-14. This game have potential, with mods players and teams are just port in with simple steps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the Football manager it has pro and cons. But the pro outweigh the cons by a landslide so i decided to give it a recommended. Pro : 1. It is cheap. At least on my country. Must be the no.1 Pro since the cost is like 10 times cheaper than FM2024 here when the editor combined. 2. This game has Editor included. And has workshop content. 3. It has Stadium management. Means you can build your own stadium, your home base. They're costly, and pretty much you can't do a lot unless you're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BUY THIS NOT FM
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Right, so I've played the first WAF game as well but only ever with the Zocker patches applied (for official team and player names). I don't know if this is a Zocker patch issue or a game mechanics issue, but the following problem is still occurring on WAF 2024 as it did on WAF: 1) Player fee negotiations are so incredibly basic and awful. When a player isn't transfer listed, the internal / 'hidden' price that will be accepted for a player will always be 200% of their market value (clubs will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Football games have become incredibly stagnant over the last 10 years with the likes of Fifa and Football manager dominating. While not perfect yet, this feels like a breath of fresh air. I can see why people coming from Football Manager would bounce off this at first (I used to be the same) but this feels a lot more like being a football manager than FM does in my opinion. I mean training and knowing your players actually matters, they feel more alive than the FM spreadsheets. I think…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would recommend this game to others. Its worth the money. But heres the Pros and Cons PROS - Quicker then Football Manager - More to do with other aspects of the football club then Football Manager which appeals to a lot of players - Fun aspects of the game like sprinkers and streakers and random bits which are just funny and it doesn't take itself that seriously - You can run all leagues and your machine will still run better then 30-40 leagues of FM2024 (I'm a massive fan of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far I personally like it more than FM. With the workshop content, I already have every real team and player I could imagine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game. In my opinion that explains the very positive feedback here rather than the game being a very good game. I come from thousands upon thousands of hours of football manager over the past 25 years. I also played games like Ultimate Soccer Manager years ago and some of the others as well. There is a feeling of jadedness towards FM a lot of people are experiencing, the game has failed to develop really in the 6 -8 years and a lot of the mechanics and game play is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Install the Mods and this is a GEM!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The amount of content in game is staggering I’ve not played a match yet! Tonnes of great features to many to name them all but most our wishes to see in FM is in this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most fun I've had in a football management game in years. I tend to dislike micro-managing training and set pieces BUT I do like the finances and infrastructure. Basically I like to play as a Manager not a Coach. For that reason I really like this. Plus it processes a lot quicker than other games of this sort.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like football Manager, but found the UI boring, if you liked FIFA Manager and Ultimate Soccer Manager and enjoyed them (especially USM) then this is the game for you. While I've read other rewiews, I decided to found my own club, so far, so good. I Imported 2 players from the Australian A-Leauge to give my team a boost at the start as they were cheap and skilled compared to my team. I started off in L4 in Eng and so far afrer 2 matches sit 7th with a newly founded club. I really like the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not fun enough for the price. Would have been the burner in 1995.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Das Spiel ist eine deutliche Verbesserung gegenüber seinem Vorgänger. Es bringt alte Anstoss 3 oder EA FM Gefühle zurück. Dankeschön!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy this game! This is one big RNG simulator not a manager first I won with Barcelona 6:0 and than in next match i lost with the last in league 0:3 with the same parameters :/ so stupid RNG simulator Better save money and wait for new Football Manager 2025 on new engine UNITY with the new engine 3D too ;]
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I took over the reins of a div 4 club in England, ready for my hero's journey to the top of Premier league. At half season the team was firmly stuck at last place and I was fired by the board. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So wanted to like this game, but for me personally the UI is one of the least intuitive UIs i have ever used. It just drains all the fun out of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very annoying game to play.. If you are a FM vet this is not for you. Awkward and un-intuitive ui design.. Tactics screen is just confusing at time's and nothing you do seems to make a difference.. very annoying sound design overall.. Poor Language translation in many part's of the game.. Just tedious and not fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an excellent football manager game. If you like manager games, and think the FM series is too cumbersome, this is a game well worth checking out. It plays much faster and you don't need to go through a million spreadsheets just to advance ingame time. The official database and portrait packs in the Workshop are easy to install and make the game so much better. You also have a player editor ingame, so if you have a generic named youth player, you can edit him/her to your heart's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it's price tag. Comparing to Football Manager it's a minigame. It has huge amount of different options which are only the illusion of a large number of options that have no impact on the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FM requires too much time, this one is more friendly on my life schedule. I just wish I could turn off some of the german leagues as they flood my simulation, so I end up turning off the country. If you have a job and family, highly reccomended. It is a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WE ARE FOOTBALL 2024 is a football management simulation that strives to strike a unique balance between accessibility and strategic depth. Developed by Winning Streak Games and published by HandyGames and THQ Nordic, the game is clearly inspired by classic German football management titles like Anstoss while seeking to appeal to a global audience that might find the complexity of Football Manager overwhelming. It aims to simplify the micromanagement without sacrificing substance, providing a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not an expert on Football managers but I love this one, cause it reminds me of "Anstoss" which I have played back in the days and finally I feel like I found something like it again to invest countless of fun and casual Manager hours in.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is `SOMETHING` Like football, football games of old perhaps? But VERY UNIQUE in MANY WAYS : https://youtube.com/live/Oihg7y7UEP8 Overwhelming levels of information, some of which is using naming and terminology I have never heard before in football & presented in a way where EVERYTHING is trying to grab your attention. The players, teams and stats don't adhere to ANY football game I have ever played; but oddly I DO like it.....Kinda (whilst scratching my head). There is a strong…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very well made football manager game. Good editor for custom teams or leagues, and also not so much micro management, if you wish to avoid it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy it more than Football Manager. Football Manager is more "sterile", just a spreadsheet simulation, while We Are Football feels a bit more organic and has tons of little "in-jokes" and references to real life manager life. However, it does not have any licensing. There is a german fan patch which adds real life players/clubs/sponsors, but it is obviously heavily focused on the german league system.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's lovely to have a football management game that goes beyond what's happening on the pitch and with the playing squad, and explores the broader club management aspect too. Those club management elements are reasonably well done. Massive infrastructure changes are expensive and take time (with a configuration option to make them immediate) as you'd expect, and there are always tweaks you'd want to do. Unfortunately the on pitch simulation is too lightweight. Team tactics are formation…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This new "Football Manager" game is just AWESOME !!! Did play nearly 82 hrs with the demo & now very happy that i can go further with second half of first season with ALL teams i did started there... This will be for sure one of the best foorball games this year & probably will reach TOP-5 or even TOP-3 of ALL TIMES... (will not spoil anything, but can tell you that there are several small but awesome/enjoyable things that i never have seen in any other Football Manager game before).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game it self is decent, There is one major issue the tactics. You can have one game you win 7-0 then another you lose 3-0 You can have matches with zero shots. When you have rating of your team say is 70 and the team your playing has 50 and you lose 3-0 makes it annoying. If its close its understandable but now with these margins. I hope they fix this in there next game if not the game is basically RNG just wait for it to spit out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Football Manager for sports - WAF 2024 for fun! I've heard this summary in a twitch stream and it is so true. Where FM is more of a deep simulation of all aspects that are influencing a single football match, WAF 2024 is more like a RPG: You are developing your club and your players over a very long span of time, unlocking new options and tools along the way. You are extending your roster, your stadium, your fan base, your club grounds. If you want to, you can even create your own club,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has high potential. Could be an FM killer in the future. I hope they add full 3D match or at least comprehensive. It feels weird that you cannot view player's attributes but i also understand that theres no such thing in real life. Looking forward for upcoming updates. Cheers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9.5/10 Awesome game. This game has a nice vibe. Easy, intuitive and just what some players asked from other games buuut....we got FM instead . It has some vibes from a EA FM game back in 2012 or 2013 . it would be nice to have the option to import my own tracks and listen to a list of songs i select from my PC. That would be nice to have. Apart from this, i am enjoying it. We need more developers that understand what gamers really want. Good job
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I accidentally declined all 3 of my first job offers, and now I'm approaching 200 days without a club, but the amount of movies I watched with my 5 daughters and their pet horses is worth it, 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →New to European Football. Played Football Manager and this game is much more suited for beginners and those new to soccer after World Cup. This games comes with manual (which is rare) and a decent help system. Much appreciated. Number one soccer game for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all this is a vast improvement on the earlier version. The main selling point for me is that you have control over your club in ways such as building the stadium and the grounds, setting ticket prices and so on. This game let's you be the manager instead of just the head-coach. Fan based real players databases can be imported which helps a lot in the immersion. Looking forward to the 2025 version. Keep up the good work!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recommend this game to anyone that plays FM. In fact, I would not recommend this game at all. This is more of a sports science/ fitness game. Very strange feel to it. On the up side it has made me love and appreciate the FM series a lot more. Sorry devs, you have fallen short as I still don't understand what kind of game you are putting out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit Overwhelmed in the first few hour, after understanding things it kinda addicting and fun to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game and dont forget to use the workshop for real player names and clubs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More like FIFA Manager and Ultimate Soccer Manager then Football manager, and thats a good thing. Football manager has been the same game for 10+ years. It's nice to see something new, while WAF is a bit unpolished and not the biggest banger - yet - it do have the potential. I hope they will continue and kick football manger out of it's seat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →football manager alternative with more options and more fast
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried FM a few years back. Just got bored really quickly, so many conversations and dialog options. WAF24 is fun, real fun! It's quick and the progression is well balanced. You can be completely hands on, or delegate a lot of the tasks to your department heads. If you like football/soccer and management games then I strongly suggest you give this one a go.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great football manager. Don´t worry about missing licences. There are licence packs, easy to install.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another great addition to the We Are Football franchise. It's in no way comparable to FM for realism buti don't even put them in the box together, they are two completely different takes of football games, this reminds me of the ea sports fifa manager games and thats exactly why I like it, I love to get involved with the facilities, finances and stadium upgrades, for me this makes it a great game. I find the UI more confusing than the last game which is disappointing, is a bit cluttered and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3 games into the season, 3 times the far superior team performance, 3 times as many chances as the other teams.., 3 losses and 3 times the opposition keeper has won "keeper of the week" ...feels like I'm back playing Football Manager.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have 2200+ h in the first part now also already accumulated around 400 again ... football i love football at all manager... BUT ! the second part is unfortunately nothing more than a copy-paste with worse improvements (in austria we would say Verschlimmbesserung)... There is finally austria regional league but there viennese clubs play in league west and styrian clubs in league east wtf all mixed up... Many things are no longer visible on one page now everything is listed under several tabs so…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play this game only if you: a) like to re-pick your formation and tactics every time. Game is not saving those settings. b) don't want an option to save game before event. c) want a absolutely random match results. (I played only 3 games. 1- friendly with twice stronger team. Won 2-1. One with a potential league leader. Draw 0-0. One with a potential league outsider - lost 0-6. Then ask for moneyback) d) want a strange music that doesn't fits and should be in some shooter. Otherwise…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is big improvement over We are Football but they got long way to go to get level of FIFA Manager 14(that was Best version by miles) to get there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While not perfect has been a nice change from FM for a while. Not an FM beater yet, but coming at it from a different angle, feels better to WAF 1, if keeps improving could become a rival.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The obvious comparison is to Football Manager. This game doesn't have real players and even the teams are a little off, but it's a lot of fun. I like the aspects it has that Football Manager doesn't, like upgrading your grounds. I have several versions of FM and I find myself choosing to play this instead most times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nostalgia boost³ thanks Gerald!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game, enough new features to justify selling it as a new game. The developer is very active, meaning there will be more quality of life features, statistics and balancing. Its not as deep as FM, but you can finish a season within 2-3 hours (faster if you just choose one league). The modability is a good bonus, you can find userfiles with original clubs and all leagues easily (FMZocker).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WE ARE FOOTBALL 2024 stands out as the only football manager that lets you set up a family and send your own son into the team—such a unique and fun feature. At the same time, the game hides too many parameters, and the match logic can feel strange (like a striker rated 0.5 stars in goal performing almost the same as a 15‑star keeper). Even with these quirks, the creativity and originality make it worth a positive review.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love it but can be better
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While voting positive because played previous and this is far better – i.e. after 120 hours still never really crashed only reporting minor problems not affecting live game continuity– there are a lot of things that impressed me positively and I still think this is a good alternative in football sports management simulators but as well there really still are clear improvement area. This product come with a lot of easy “tap&go” mobile game style dynamics and so seems a very attractive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game as an alternative to fm, find it hard even on medium setting, not may helpful videos in english as this is a german game, still its fun though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its crap......hasn't progressed from the first game....and cannot be recommended. bye bye Oh and its slow AF....FM2024 is quicker to play,,,,,so whats the point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow! ok so let us say what the game is not. Football Manager by SI Games / Sega. Now we have that out the way at 250 hours of playing the game I am happy to reccomend playing this newer entry to the football sim world, it is like a cross of football manger back when it was fun and civilisation as you build your ground and club grounds, yes there are a few annoying bits but a simple trip to the workshop more than makes up for it as there are mods to sort names and competions out properly.…
