Gal Gadot runs around London talking to herself in this running joke of a thriller; if you're thinking of watching...Gadon't bother. 1 out of 5. film-authority.com/2026/09/08/t...

neutral · AI labelView post →War of the Worlds (1953) is one of the quintessential science fiction films from the Fifties. This film keeps the spirit of the book intact and makes the film an innovative, intelligent, and evocative film that tries to get one thinking about alien invaders and their intentions.

It was brilliant, totally twisted and utterly gripping. Plenty of seats left: www.bridgetheatre.co.uk/whats-on/the...

As we look at the 1988 TV series that is a sequel to the 1953 film. Then a 2010 radio adaptation of the 1938 radio play starring the cast of Star Trek. linktr.ee/Dylan_Rees

neutral · AI labelView post →Hot on the heels of the Spider-Man sequel (Spider-Man 2, 2004) I watched the Steven Spielberg alien invasion movie (War of the Worlds, 2005) letterboxd.com/marie_philli...
neutral · AI labelView post →humanity surviving the War of the Worlds invasion was a real Mickey Mouse championship. we did nothing. the aliens beat our ass the whole movie and then a microbe beat them. we shouldn't get a ring for that
neutral · AI labelView post →Things I was afraid of when I was a child 1. Cameras. Idk why it scared me when anybody covered their face with a camera to take a picture. 2. Street lights (they looked like the aliens from the old War of the Worlds movie). I would only sit in the middle back seat of the car 🤣 3. Neighbor's dog

neutral · AI labelView post →War of the Worlds (2025) starring Ice Cube is not a real movie, it's in front of me right now but I won't accept it, it simply cannot be
neutral · AI labelView post →THIS is the movie that Spielberg should have remade instead of 'War of the Worlds'. The Keanu Reeves version was dreadful and completely missed the point.
neutral · AI labelView post →Wait no I lied in my first qrp. It was War of the Worlds. The aliens in that movie freaked me out SO BAD as a kid
neutral · AI labelView post →Three powerful pieces of art disprove that: UNITED 93, MUNICH, & WAR OF THE WORLDS It’s a shortsighted argument, btw, since a film doesn’t have to depict a historical event in order to be “about” it. To this day, the themes of many great films are influenced by how the world changed after 9/11.
neutral · AI labelView post →There's an interview conducted by Rob Feld in the back of the War of the Worlds screenplay where David Koepp talks about how the specific 9/11 imagery and dialogue in the movie happened because we all lived through 9/11. He specifically talks about Dakota Fanning asking, "is it the terrorists?"
neutral · AI labelView post →Well, the first half of Independence Day: Resurgence is one hour of life I'll never get back. I like the first film a lot. It's a fun re-envisioning of War of the Worlds. This is just a mess of bad characters, rehashed ideas and massive jumps of illogic and stupidity.
neutral · AI labelView post →Although TBH, the first time I got scared at a movie was when I went to the local school gym when I was about 9 (all by myself because genx) on a Saturday 50 cent movie day and watched 1953s War of the Worlds. I had to leave. Only time I've ever walked out of a movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →It's a toss-up between War of the Worlds which freaked me out cause of the tripod's sounds and everything, and the movie White Noise (2005), which is a terrible horror movie about ghosts communicating with the living through TV and radio. I spent a year being too scared to look at TV static.

neutral · AI labelView post →It sucks bigtime that the modern interpretation of "War Of The Worlds" is the godawful Ice Cube flick and not one of the best classic scifi stories of all time with an incredible musical version and infamous radio broadcast. Not to mention the classic 1953 film and the terrifying 2005 one.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm watching the War of the Worlds remake for some reason (?!?) and it's better seen as a series of set pieces. The silliest part of the movie is the son being 'I want to fight!!1!' and this is absolutely the mindset of the Iraq War era "Support OUR troops!" yard signs that were everywhere
neutral · AI labelView post →WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005): I think this movie should suck and I should hate it, except that Spielberg and Janusz are constantly doing absolutely virtuosic stuff here. The years immediately after 9/11 are a completely foreign country. Three and one half stars.
neutral · AI labelView post →While I don’t care for the jingoism and politics underpinning it, War Of The Worlds (2005) is a fascinating, well-made movie that does everything I’d want from an adaptation. It retells a story while recontextualizing and altering aspects to make it meaningful in a modern context. Happy 9-11.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is why America cannot have healthcare and all the other nice things. Also, yet another in the continuing series: Which dystopian Novel/Film/TV show are we in now? There is a striking similarity to the robot dogs from the 2019-2022 War of the Worlds TV show. This is not a comforting thought.

neutral · AI labelView post →My dad had a CD collection of the old H G Wells radio drama for War of the Worlds and would play that on our speaker system and it scared the crap out of me. Same with the old movie (this was in the 90s). Between that and Xfiles and Fire in the Sky I was so afraid of aliens growing up.
neutral · AI labelView post →'War of the Worlds' (2005) It's the only movie I've ever seen at a drive-in, and I think that it is, arguably, the best movie to watch at a drive-in. (Excepting slasher horrors or anything that encourages getting sweet with one's honey, of course.)
neutral · AI labelView post →Watched Spielberg's War of the Worlds yesterday and that film is still terrifying #Movies #ScienceFiction #HGWells #WarOfTheWorlds
positive · AI labelView post →Realizing that the Ice Cube War of The Worlds movie people were bashing a while ago had both Roderick from Diary of A Wimpy Kid and Agent Coulson from the MCU made me realize that damn those poor people used to have careers/the promise of one but now they ended up in that--
neutral · AI labelView post →But he was nice, meanwhile War of the Worlds was the scariest film to me and I still shiver at the sound from those alien robot machines. Also I do get dizzy when looking up at statues IRL 😭
neutral · AI labelView post →John somewhat randomly suggested watching War of the Worlds (2005), which is never seen. Turns out it’s a 9/11 movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →More Halloween (❣️), this is a "proto-analog" special that had a big influence on the WNUF film. This was made & broadcast "live" in 1992 by the BBC in the UK. Caused a similar stir as the 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast. #FridayFrights #AnalogHorror #Halloween #HorrorSky #FilmSky
neutral · AI labelView post →#ukb5watch after the omnibus there's the original 1953 film of The War of the Worlds...
neutral · AI labelView post →I just want a big budget movie adaptation of War of the Worlds faithfully telling the story exactly how H.G. Wells wrote it with tripod designs influenced by Henrique Alvim Corrêa's illustrations.
neutral · AI labelView post →I used to get nightmares because of those things. War of the Worlds is Steven Spielberg's most underrated film.
positive · AI labelView post →My dad had the 2005 War of the Worlds movie on the TV and the scene where the alien tripod comes out of the ground and starts zapping people freaked 6 year old me the fuck out
neutral · AI labelView post →I wasn't an easily frightened child. I'm sure there were others but the one I remember was the TV *ad* for The War of the Worlds. (60s) A few days later when the whole movie was on it was hardly scary at all.
neutral · AI labelView post →The war horns of the tripods from the Spielberg War of the Worlds movie is 1000x scarier for that reason imo
neutral · AI labelView post →(Also not looking forward to making the music video, albeit for different reasons--the song is called "War of the Worlds" and is based on the novel of the same name, but I can't use clips from the 1953 film version because it won't enter the public domain until 2049. So I gotta find another way.)
neutral · AI labelView post →I saw the Tom Cruise War of the Worlds movie with the Adam Sandler The Longest Yard double feature. Both were fine, neither was particularly good.
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching War of the Worlds for the first time. Dakota fanning was such a damn good child actor. Wouldn’t be a Spielberg movie without parent/child conflict. Fun ride so far, special effects kick ass.
positive · AI labelView post →The 50s War of the Worlds is a normal comfort film on a Sunday night before bed. Discuss. 😏
neutral · AI labelView post →Someone came into my mentions & said Spielberg’s WAR OF THE WORLDS movie is ”not good actually” and F that noise. In this house we appreciate and applaud the majestic power of Spielberg’s sad angry refugee film and that the first Tripod scene is a perfect movie setpiece. Blocked them.
positive · AI labelView post →Spielberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS is as close as we've gotten to an actual 9/11 movie, and I will die on that hill.
positive · AI labelView post →Incredible recording of Orson Welles with HG Wells, talking about War of the Worlds, the actual War, and where HG asks Orson about that "film of yours" (Citizen Kane) which he hopes has some "jolly good noises in it" youtu.be/i83IJuaB9DA?...

Kes (A Kestrel for a knave) The Spy Who Came in from The Cold To Kill a Mockingbird And War of the Worlds Today's was a solid btw 8/10 Theatre Royal, Glasgow👍
neutral · AI labelView post →This is a genuine loss for Gen Z onward - having limited media and so getting totally obsessed with one film or album. They'll never watch a VHS until it starts to disintegrate or know an album off by heart. Mine was War of the Worlds and Python's Holy Grail.
neutral · AI labelView post →Tom Cruise in a 9/11 movie aka Vanilla Sky/War of the Worlds>>>>>>>>Digger
neutral · AI labelView post →Paramount just tapped Orson Welles to reboot the War of The Worlds radio broadcast too! Sources say HBO is looking into re-booting the Zapruder Film. The past isn’t dead, it’s zombified IP and it’s running towards you at GREAT speed
neutral · AI labelView post →War of the Worlds (2005) is such a good movie. I want more alien disaster movies.
positive · AI labelView post →😆🤣....I felt the same way about Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds, all she did was scream through the entire movie. 💙
negative · AI labelView post →70) The War of the Worlds (1953) Honestly, this was even better than I remember it. The film actually does a pretty good job at making the invasion feel global and apocalyptic despite limiting its perspective to the characters we're following. Iconic in its own right for a god reason. 8/10
positive · AI labelView post →I don’t know if you know this movie it’s Dakota Fanning’s clothes from War of the Worlds 2005
neutral · AI labelView post →I remember watching War of the Worlds so many times when I was younger. At the time, it was a film I really enjoyed, but it gave me so many nightmares over many many years (and vivid nightmares too 😅) The tri-pods, the sound they made, and the aliens? Absolutely terrifying.
positive · AI labelView post →I guess I can buy Cruise more as a vampire than a longshoreman in War of the Worlds. That film marked the beginning of a twenty year decline during which he largely gave up on acting as anyone other than Tom Cruise. I mean, sure - he made lots of money. But no comparison to 83-04 Cruise.
