It feels rushed, and the end result is a bag of papercuts. Technical Issues Level loading is inexplicably slow; I can start Cyberpunk 2077 quicker than this thing. The controls are adequate-ish, but you can’t remap the controller. Because we’re savages. Gameplay & Design The experience is slow and grindy. Mining is not fun, and progression feels like a chore.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games where you physically cannot win in a single run. Not arguing semantics over roguelite/roguelike/whatever. The meta progression between runs **is the game.** The runs themselves are just timewaster lotteries where you grind meta currency and hope you get lucky enough to find the progression keys so that you'll be allowed to play the rest of the game in a future run someday. It doesn't matter how good a run is. It doesn't matter if you mine super rare resources and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wasn't sure what to expect, but this ended up being a really fun game. The mix of mining, upgrading, and defending your spider keeps things interesting, and I always wanted to see what was waiting a little deeper.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wall World is a surprisingly addictive mix of roguelite progression, base defense, and exploration. The core loop of mining into the wall, gathering resources, and rushing back to defend your mech before the next wave hits is simple, but it works extremely well. Each run feels tense, especially early on when time management and route planning actually matter. Combat is straightforward but satisfying, and upgrades make a noticeable difference without completely trivializing the challenge. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: Initially addicting gameplay loop with a decent amount of upgrades and weapons available Great visuals, atmosphere and soundtrack The Bad: Gets repetitive after a while. Every run looks more or less the same Crypto keys are randomly placed. You’re at the mercy of RNG, and it artificially lengthens the game No save feature is a bit annoying, because the runs aren’t exactly quick. They can take an hour or longer Anticlimactic end boss phase, the game just kind of ends? Little…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It felt suffocating. The mines all have the exact same layout and secret locations. Nothing the player does actually matters - fighting is pointless, and even digging and gathering resources is ultimately useless. The only thing players need to do is collect the keys. By the time I realized this, I had already unlocked all the main meta-upgrades and had only found two out of five keys. I could freely move around the map, but I had no way to win because the final boss just instantly kills you.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun, short and sweet roguelite (beat the game in 9 hours and will probably need 1 or 2 to 100% the base game). The gameplay is very easy to grasp : You start in your mecha spider that crawls on the wall, you can crawl up or down to find mines. Once near a mine you can set up your spider to dig through it so you can start exploring the mine. Inside the mine you'll be able to explore and mine ressources and sometimes find anomalies in the form of schematics or orbs that will give you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very repetitive. And here's another thing - 5 hours in, unlocked all the meta upgrades, and still have to find half of quest items that seem to be generated randomly. Really? No, I'm not going to.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright "digging game". but not really worth it i would say. it's up to you.. i was bored most of the time personally. Extremely grindy, same gameplay over and over again. If new to digging games, this can properly be alright, but if you like me have tried a few before this one, this might not be it for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →actually playing this game reminded me very much of dome keeper. basically same idea with comparable execution. obviously there are differences but also many similarities. compared to the dome your spider can move around and that's necessary because instead of one big mine you get various caves limited in size to explore and loot. breaking through clouds while moving up or down the wall leads to new biomes while triggering a massive attack wave. the smaller caves are certainly easier to handle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be such a great game if not one little thing that completely ruins the experience. The gameplay is fantastic, addictive even, and the audio and visuals are good. I'd love to continue playing to eventually beat the game, but there is just one thing standing in my way of beating and recommending this game. There is a boss, and you can't beat this boss until you find a couple of items (keys). The problem is that their drops are random, there is no specific location or time when you get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sometimes a gameplay loop gets me hooked, and i'll spend a lot of hours in a short amount of time. and then i may get close to the end, i find out an aspect of the game near the end throws all the time invested to a (partial) stand still. As of this review i'm a good 4\5 (or more) through the game, and finding out how the ending is supposed to go? Uninstalled. I get it with rougelites its usually pure RNG, but man due to the RNG was i soft locked out of a lot of crucial tech…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there are 2 things i hope to see improved in wall world 2: - the grind you need in order to find (find, not unlock!) upgrades is insane. they basically spawn randomly - no matter how well you plan your run and OP you get, you'll need to find 5 items that also spawn randomly in order to beat it. i was lucky and was able to finish it in just under 7h (base game only, not the dlc. and playing on Hard difficulty, not Insane) but i wouldn't had been surprised if it had taken me 2x or 3x that time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →meta progression grind fest no skill required. just lose and grind currency to get meta upgrades until you win.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay loop isn't that fun and there are a two different ways of buying upgrades. One is permanent, but the other set of upgrades must be purchases on every run. The worst part is those are the upgrades that increase quality of life. The game is tedious and feels like work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game forces you to lose and die 100 times in order to have a progress in story. Amazing game design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An often overlooked title #WallWorld is a mining, #Roguelite #TowerDefense game all made with stellar gameplay and beautiful pixel art the game isn't long and the DLC isn't the best but the base game itself is an all around great time I implore anyone in a search for a short game to check it out
unlabelledView post →Wall World is a neat game with a great pixel art style. The core gameplay loop of mining, running up and down the wall fighting enemies and looking for the next mine is fun. There is only one thing I would note as a weak point and that is not being able to safe mid run. This broke the game for me a bit. I needed a break after about 45 minutes and lost all progress of that run. If you aren't time restricted, this is a great game though!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Dig tunnels, collect ore, carry it back to crawler. Upgrade suit or vehicle. Defend from incoming waves on the outside world by jumping to turret control seat. After that explore further by moving up and blast your way to clouds. Gets quite challenging. Several modes to choose from. Good soundtrack. Can be played coop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heya folks, here's a short featuring an indie roguelike game called Wall World. So, for this one, I added a CRT Filter using Borderless Gaming, and I honestly like the way it looks. I also have the frame gen tech enabled too. #wallworld #videogames #indiegames #roguelike #shorts #gameplay

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pass for me... don't take my word for it though, it's decent, I just personally don't like games intended to make you lose, just so you can win later. It's a lame way to make a game have replay value.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gets way too repetitive way too fast and focusing on some weapons like the grenade launcher is unreliable because it can't hit the bosses, huge miss.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes ages to finish. Only worth playing for 4-5 hours at most, from then on it is the exact same. It's got a somewhat satisfying gameplay loop, but it runs out of new things after run ~8. Despite some reviews describing it having a story, it has less of a plot than Mario - once you get each key there is some small dialogue which is just "wow you got a key that's so CRAZY and RARE", there are small rooms with some text but 70% of those seem to be references to kickstarter backers or friends of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its Dome Keeper, but you move around. You walk around, then stop to mine for ore, then run back to your mech base to fight the current wave of enemies. Convert your ore into upgrades, so you can mine other ores, so you can get more upgrades. Do that enough times, the final boss show up. You need to keep failing runs until you get enough permanent upgrades to defeat the final boss. Relies a bit too much on RNG. Since both resources for the temporary upgrades and the permanent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairly short game but incredibly done. Starts out pretty difficult .,.. but thats the rogue lite aspect, 0 chance of winning until after a few runs then it gets alot easier when you figure how to balance mining to wall climbing. Dome keeper wave defense, with a steam world dig exploration/mining and timed exploration. Must get if you like either of those 2 types, if not still recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A real mixed bag IMO, but ultimately I do not recommend At first glance, this seems like a chill/cozy mining game -and for a few minutes- it is. Then at the 20 minute mark a boss you have no hope of defeating pops up and rolls you This is a rogueLITE, one you have ZERO chance of beating without grinding out perma-upgrades. You are constantly harassed by enemies that serve more as a weapons-check than enagaging combat. In fact, combat feels like an afterthought. The boss will harass you every…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Dome Keeper with more moving parts. If you liked Dome Keeper and don't consider it to be lightning in a bottle or too perfect to change, you'll enjoy Wall World.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →found out about this recently, thought it was just a dome keeper clone but was promptly corrected. pros: the price is on point the art is really nice the difficulty is right, i guess i played it after some patch because i saw some people complaining. the enemies doesn't feel like coppy paste, the have some unique behaviors and patterns. the story is something fresh cons: oh boy it has performance issues, 7% cpu usage, 5-10% gpu usage and stuck on 15-25fps, i saw some comments about having to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: 2.75 --- Interesting, but flawed. ---------------------------------------------- There is a nice gameplay loop that is bogged down by busywork that prolongs game-time to pad out what could have been a satisfying little game. The art direction is great: the music, the animations, the sprites. The setting is the hook for this game. Unfortunately, the progression is a mixed bag that ultimately is designed around being a time-sink. While that can be what some people might want, it leaves…

unlabelledView post →This game feels really cool, with a amazing setting, loads of atmosphere, and beautiful scenery. However. The gameplay is very repetitive, and boring. The graphics and music are not the most inspiring, and honestly its really really hard. This game is really cool, I definitely did not give it enough time before deciding I didn't like it that's on me. I will still be buying wall world 2 at some point to see if its any better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It could've been shorter, I'm 7 hours in and its getting a bit repetitive, although it is quite satisfying to see the incremental increase in your abilities, I have way too much of the resource that allows me to upgrade permanently.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun game. There is a good gameplay loop of 1) mine as deep as you can to gather resources, 2) hurry back to the surface and fight an enemy wave (which appears when an indicator bar reaches full) with your best weapons, 3) upgrade your weapons / mining equipment using the gathered resources. There are other complications including the recurring main boss and extra enemy waves which occur when passing through a cloud layer. It should be noted that it is nearly impossible to beat the…

unlabelledView post →More of a glorified clicker than a roguelike, as unavoidable damage makes it so there's no skill involved in gameplay; literally just tank attacks and watch the health bar drop until the run ends. A real roguelike will let you succeed and even be able to beat the game through skill alone. Not so with this game, literally need to upgrade everything first to do anything here. Don't get me wrong, clickers can be fun too, but game tries too hard to pretend it's not.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so much like Dome Keeper that I had to check the store page to confirm this wasn't the same developer. Besides the core gameplay being very similar, even the textures are almost exact copies of Dome Keeper. Not worth the $1 I spent on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of the other reviews will disagree with me but I personally feel this is a huge upgrade compared to Dome Keeper. A ton of QoL changes to make it not so painfully slow to play just to finally get going and then have your run end. However, the DLC for this is so atrocious it really sucked the fun out of playing. About to check out Wall World 2 next so hopefully they listened to a lot of feedback and made that better. For 2 dollars you can get the whole game and DLC and it will give you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You could easily compare this to Dome Keeper, a very similar game both in graphics and features a mining/crafting phase followed by attack waves. Fun loop, unlike DK you need to grind up your abilities to have more successful games, but i wouldnt call it a slow grind. Lots of weapons, though i wouldnt call them particulaily well balanced. Youre going to figuire out pretty quickly which build is the OP option. Overall fun game though, if you like DK and similar, check this out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game for great value. Took me around 14 hours to 100%. For this price, that is a very good ratio. Can be very chill to watch something on the side while playing this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, initially I thought the fighting aspect is the focus - but it's really time management.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →core game loop is fun but there's a bit too much RNG with the crypto keys. i knew which biome my last one was in, but it took 5 runs to get it. feels padded by about 2x while also not having the best design. most of the weapon upgrades are pointless, and you can finish the game with 1 or 2, or even just the base machine gun and missile. you can focus on mining and just breeze through. mile wide, inch deep. end of the day it's a rogue* tower defense. controller support could be better also.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Dome Keeper but In Landscape Mode, Both Have the Similar Mechanics, but this game... it's more towrads looking for RNG Entrance and start mining, however, The Timing, RNG of the Resources you're going to get is not Consistent. Perhaps it was meant to be this way, but i don't quite like it. Additionally, this game... are way Hollowed than Dome Keeper plays, you get unlocks way too easy, just blasting all the Blocks then you will be sitting on Meta Currencies with Nth to unlock. You may…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game loop, but bad progression. This is your typical 'lose until you get enough meta-upgrades to win'. Most of the game has a lack of critical info, such as the importance of Drill Strength or the damage of weapons. When you have limited resources, it is important to know when a 5% upgrade means nothing when it's base stat is too low to matter. The next complaint is that the game has a meta-strategy you don't know until you spend enough time wandering aimlessly and hopefully figure out.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, it's less than $2 on sale right now. Only had less than 2hrs right now but... Have you played Dome Keeper? Yea, this is Dome Keeper - literally. But the Dome in this case is the spider robot and it moves.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“Wall World” – When Mining, Monsters, and a Turbocharged Steam Deck Collide Wall World feels like someone tossed Dome Keeper, a vertical maze, and a dash of playful chaos into a blender—and somehow created something incredibly addictive. From the very first climb along the colossal wall, you’re drilling through mysterious layers of rock and asking yourself within minutes: “Why is this so much fun?” A huge highlight is the excellent playability on the Steam Deck. The game doesn’t just run…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game, interesting settings, good game mechanics, meaningful upgrades, interesting equipment and weapon types. A roguelike game, where I was really not unhappy when I died, because I was really excited about unlocking the new upgrades. The upgrades make you noticeably stronger and stronger, its not like +5% extra damage and such... the game starts as a slow paced "every move counts" game, but as u unlock more and more things, it gets more complex and speedy. The game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After I killed the first boss It started giving me mid to late game enemies early on. I don't see how that's fair because you have temporary upgrades for that run only and then you have permanent upgrades after you inevitably lose. The permanent upgrades are mostly good and useful but outside of the missile they don't really help with combat. So giving me "harder" (tanky) enemies doesn't make sense. The time in between waves is too short and giving me harder enemies only wastes even more time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty fun game that's juuuuust janky enough to be quirky but not annoying. If you like Dome Keeper, this is basically that except you're digging horizontally and your base gets up and moves to other mines. The combat can kinda suck with the RNG attached to it for your weapons and a good chunk of it isn't really explained. However, we're all here for the mining part and boy oh boy... It can be satisfying. Max out your mining kit and watch all the blocks explode. The DLC is so-so and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game roguelike Lovecraftian art style ^^ Grandpa!!! shouldn't have told that story ! Ben find way go to the edge of the world Ben=Mine worker x Ben=heresy !? Ben=the chosen one ✓ Good game with a nice little gimmick , I like little spider gets up the snow fall off of em Game+dlc can be completed in 12 hours However if you aim to unlock all everything , you will have to rely on luck (RNG)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun for a few hours and then you realize you're doing the exact same thing over and over again. You'll be out of things to spend your meta-progression currency on long before you get to actually advance the story because there is no guarantee the items you need to find will actually spawn. It goes from kinda fun and charming to extremely dull and tedious very quickly. Don't buy it unless it's on sale.

Always that freaking unity crash report building huge crash logs that accumulates unless manually deleted. Bored to waste time on this unfixed crap that could be a real roguelike gem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game starts off really fun and keeps you motivated with all the unlockables, but unfortunately, that is when the grind really kicks in as you try to find the rest. There are often runs where the RNG just won’t give you a break. If you don’t mind a tough grind, you will have fun here.
