Valkyrie
Wounded in Africa during World War II, Nazi Col. Claus von Stauffenberg returns to his native Germany and joins the Resistance in a daring plan to create a shadow government and assassinate Adolf Hitler. When events unfold so that he becomes a central player, he finds himself tasked with both leading the coup and personally killing the Führer. From TMDB

The hands become round too but its hard to see with the gray color.

unlabelledView post →Part of what I said is that Hitler's own people tried to kill him. This is historical fact. They even made a movie about it, "Valkyrie." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyri...

unlabelledView post →OK this is one of a few off the top of my head: I love this movie and the queer rep when Valkyrie comes into the picture and how much Monica takes Cap'n (her other mom) to task for leaving the fam and how much fangirling Ms. Marvel does and how they all play off each other.

unlabelledView post →Remember when Tom Cruise made that movie "Valkyrie" about a Nazi who wanted to kill and replace Hitler? The real-live version of that dude was just as evil as any Nazi, he just wanted himself, not Hitler, to be the one at the top. Anyway, in I'm sure TOTALLY UNRELATED NEWS, this is happening.

unlabelledView post →Watching Valkyrie and ngl it is funny how much this film about German history goes out of its way to have no Germans involved. Even Carice Van Houten is Dutch.

unlabelledView post →Dear federal government workers of the United States There's a really cool movie called "Operation: Valkyrie" somewhere and I think y'all should watch it. Especially the ones with access to cool suitcases.
unlabelledView post →No, you were right, "Valkyrie" is about the 20th July plot to assassinate Hitler. Can't work out what the 'drone strike' film refers to.
unlabelledView post →Tom Cruise literally starred in a movie called Valkyrie about the July 20 plot to assassinate Hitler. There are multiple monuments to Claus Philipp Maria Justinian Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg in Germany. I'm not saying "yay political violence" but I am saying ahistorical takes are bullshit.

unlabelledView post →This is another film in which James Earl Jones has a monologue where he declares that the hero is his son (ESB was 2 years earlier) I had forgotten how much stabbing and slitting of throats this movie has. There are only two actual swordfights in this film, and Valkyrie wins both of them.

unlabelledView post →Note that glorifying the past was a big, big part of Nazism. Hitler loved Richard Wagner’s operas because he felt they glorified Germany from the past. This is mentioned in the movie ‘Valkyrie’.
unlabelledView post →GREAT comparison. Valkyrie was a supporting character in 3 movies prior to The Marvels, and her one scene cameo in that film not only got cheers in theaters but also made for a sweet character moment where we could see Val had grown. Could you imagine the DCEU pulling that off with Mera?
