No, but it is an interesting narrative adventure that I enjoyed (mostly). The game takes place around 1650, and you play two people in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've just finished Two Falls, and I was very touched by the game. It's not a game with hyper-immersive mechanics, but it will seduce you with its story, its writing and its willingness to make known the history of indigenous peoples in Quebec. It's a beautiful story of listening, understanding and openness. It's one more step towards reconciliation, which is really important. Congratulations to the whole team. Ps: I've tried to do this review with as little info as possible for one reason…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay-wise this game has barely any interaction. It felt more like watching a movie. There's a bit of inconsistency when you can sprint or not. It's a very railroady game. The story was pretty good, and the conversations between characters were good, but it didn't feel like there was a lot of agency. I appreciate the message but not sure an indie game was the right avenue for this not just for delivery but also reach. I also really didn't enjoy or want to play a game where I have to see…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a lovingly crafted game about Canada in the 1700s. It is mainly in visual novel style where you have to make some decisions and the rest is a walking simulator. It is very linear with little interaction. The story hinges around Jeanne (a French Catholic), whose boat is shipwrecked on the St Laurence River; Maikan, a young Innu (Native Indian) hunter-gatherer and Pierre, a hunter/trader/poacher who connects both of them. You have two narratives running parallel throughout the entire…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was extremely pumped for this game to come out. I love story-driven, choice making games and when I saw the trailer for Two Falls, I was hooked. Let me start with things I did like. The art style was warm. It has a "painted" look like what the first Life is Strange does. With this, it makes the game stick out from all the rest. The story is what gives this game brownie points. I believe this is the first game to touch on indigenous people in Quebec. A long history that is unknown to a lot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With this being a recent release, there's bound to be some bugs or performance issues, but despite it all, I love this game. As a Canadian Indigenous person myself, it hits hard and I can relate to the anxieties the Indigenous characters are feeling. I'm not quite finished the game yet but I'm so into it. The style is really pretty and I'm obsessed with the scenery. My only issue is the performance. My PC has the recommended hardware but even on the lowest graphics, it's laggy. It doesn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently played Two Falls: Nishu Takuatshina, and it was a memorable experience, although I'm not done yet with the adventure yet. The game immerses you in 17th-century New France, allowing you to see the world through two characters: Jeanne, a Fille du Roy from France, and Maikan, an Innu hunter. I appreciated how the game offers both perspectives, providing a nuanced look at the interactions between European settlers and Indigenous peoples. The French voice acting is top-notch, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love a good walking sim! I had the chance to play an earlier demo and I must say the final result is truly a labor or love. And being a french-canadian, it's always nice to see some videogame talk about the history of my people. This is a game I'll play until the end for sure!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent walking-sim-like narrative game, set in 17th century French-colonial Canada, which has enough confidence in its immersive storytelling to avoid falling back upon traditional gaming elements, such as puzzles. I learnt a lot from this game, both from its excellently-implemented codex, and from the (mostly) well-written dialogue. The dual-narrative feels original and gripping; and the themes the game explores (especially the intersection between colonialism and Christianity) are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In all honesty i have worked on this game, so my review is tainted by that. I worked for a year on this game and hold all people who worked on it at heart. I sincerely appreciated replaying this game, I discovered a lot of work that my friends put in it, rediscovered scenes that we're barely functioning back then with gorgeous art. I was delighted to see this beautiful project attain the level of polish it has. For other people reading this, I whole heatedly encourage you to give it a look and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the start, it is way to many lines for the voice actor, the game loads slowly and it makes the 3D models look very blocky and cheap. My specs are not bad and i should not have problems with parts loading slowly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was just scrolling "upcoming releases" section when I stumbled upon this gem. If you like soulful narrative adventures, it's 100% for you. Great characters, good writing, wonderful visuals and pacing. I finished it in one sitting cause it was just this good. Absolutely recommended. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two Falls has me hooked, even though I haven't completed it yet. The atmosphere and storytelling are captivating, and the artistic direction draws you in completely. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing this journey and seeing where the story goes!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll start off with the somewhat obvious- this is a narrative driven walking simulator. You will not have free open-world exploration, but there are discoveries that you will miss if you rush through and do not explore what the game allows you to explore. Look for white circles that turn into either an eye (discovery or story progression), or an arrow (travel). The game is on rails- you do have choices in dialogue choices, but they will not affect the outcome, only the personality and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very hyped about this game the moment I saw it, but sadly, this is a refund for me after playing it. I guess the system requirements are for 30fps, also because the fps was locked at 30fps at the start. But I won't play a game on PC that won't stay stable even at 60fps. Even if I didn't care about 60fps, I simply couldn't play something like this because I get major headaches from that. I had anti-aliasing off, and still, in the woods, it was a constant 40-45fps. My specs for anyone who…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to give Two Falls a positive review regardless of anything because it's a small team trying to make an interesting game that they're clearly passionate about. First, performance is terrible. I have a RTX 4070 & Ryzen 9 5900x and had to turn it to Medium @ 1080p in order to get 60 fps with frequent stutters. Second, story is pretty good but a bit biased. I've always been interested in the European/Native dynamic of the new world. The original thought was that the Natives were…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn’t really recommend it, but I’d like to support the small developer. I’d give this game a solid 5/10. Pros: Firewatch-style visuals Unique Indigenous perspective Keeps you engaged Chill, narrative-driven experience Memorable emotional moments, like humming a lullaby Dual protagonists with contrasting viewpoints Cons: Walking simulator Voice acting are good but can feel awkward and corny sometimes Christian themes may feel out of place Predictable plot, lacks substance Some character…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DIdnt finish yet, but deserves to be noticed. This game was built on first nations culture that deserve more recognition.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really good no bugs good money well spent make me hapyy I really like this game, it's about tweo people who like are like different and like things are happening the literary devices used in this narrative really bring out the umami that is stored inside of this experience and I gotta say is Yeah it's pretty good 8/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to do this in three parts: What I liked What bothered me Technical issues First of all I should say that for a first game, this was beautifully made. Not only does it work smoothly most of the time and look beautiful, but it allows many of us to explore some of the beliefs and traditions of a culture we would likely never learn about otherwise. As someone who is fascinated with history, I believe that the game approaches the historical context of the region and the story in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a Metis decendant first and gamer second, this game is exactly what I didn't know I wanted to see. Miigwech!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A terrific game with great dialogue and story telling! It is so important to know the history and the atrocities committed against the peoples living here by the European colonizers. I am no expert on Canada's history with this subject, but this game has made me want to learn more, and I appreciate that. We cannot rewrite history, but it is important to learn from it so you can do better as a person. Great job, devs! Side note: the game defaults to 30fps for some reason, so make sure you go to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I appreciate the themes it's trying to explore, Two Falls is probably the most boring and dull "walking simulator" (and even that's a stretch) I've ever played. It's extremely passive, lacking meaningful interactions or even exploration. As if that wasn't bad enough, its creators decided to use one of the cheapest tricks in storytelling - killing an animal - to attempt to force any emotional response from the players. Sorry to say it's a no from me (and my dog).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had the pleasure of visiting the Innu reserve last summer and learning about their culture and deep ties to the land and all that lives on it. It was a privilege to return to those forests in digital form and experience this incredibly moving story about the history of the land my family settled on a few hundred years later. This game is incredibly well-written, gorgeous, and depicts the reality of this land's history that too many people living on it often forget. Thank you for this gift.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay-wise you mostly just walk around, talk to people, make some dialogue choices... but the game is quite interesting, I liked the two characters that you get to play as Also, visually, it's quite pretty
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR. Okay for a rainy day. Pick it up when discounted 75% or more. A walking simulator if ever there is one. Literally at times. A nice lesson on the flora, fauna and history of early colonial Quebec. Class material more than a game. It’s short. Seven and a half hours in which I let the game run sometimes while doing other chores. So actually an hour or so shorter. Simple graphics. Poor voice acting (English version played). A linear game with set out paths (nothing wrong with that). Your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd like to give this game a positive review, but right now I can't. The visuals and controls are very choppy and jerky no matter how I tinker with the settings. I'm playing on a Steam Deck so I'll do some research and see if I can figure out how to fix this, but right now I physically can't play the game because it's causing motion sickness. I got through the first chapter before I gave up (due to the aforementioned issues). The story seems like it should have promise, and I'd like to find a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure what I was expecting, I try not to spoil games to much before I play. But this story walk through was so beautifully done. So sad and tragic. Well written walking sim, only sometimes did it feel slow (I like sprinting everywhere in games), but overall the pace was nice, the voice acting lovely. The scenery and art is so gorgeous! Ugh and the music on top, thanks for a great experience! I played through twice for achievements, and did all the opposite dialogue, and glad I did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of a mixed bag. Very little interaction. Poorly optimized. Story was fine, voice acting ok. Worth playing on deep discount if you enjoy point and click walking sims. I can appreciate stories that we don't typically get in games, but the illusion of choice is prevalent and a little misleading.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is much more linear in scope than I expected, but I really appreciated its approach to the historical side of what went on between the Native tribes of Canada and its settlers. The graphics reminded me a lot of Firewatch (which is a positive to me), and the soundtrack is really great to listen to. A solid game for those looking for an interactive historical experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved Two Falls (Nishu Takuatshina). I went into it with some hesitation, as "contrasting perspectives on first contact (and colonisation)" had me a little worried, but after discussing my concerns with the devs and reading more about how the game was created... I gave it a go. I'm so glad I did: this game is wonderful (with one caveat, see below! *). It was so fantastic to see different communities represented so well, and it felt like there was real growth in the characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oftentimes when writing reviews for games, I like to mention crucial plot points or a general overview of the story, however with Two Falls i want to spoil as little of the narrative as possible. Two Falls takes place in 17th century Canada and Stars two protagonists Jeanne, a French woman that survives a shipwreck and Maikan, a young Innu searching for what has angered the spirits. The choices you make for each character will change how they interact with others throughout the story. Overall…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous landscapes, a beautiful soundtrack, a moving story and most importantly, a very good dog. The French voice actress for Jeanne also did an amazing job portraying the character and I loved her performance. All in all, Two Falls: Nishu Takuatshina is an experience I would highly recommend. Congrats to everyone involved in the making of this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is so compelling, you always want to know what will happen next! I love that the choices you make impact the story too. The scenery is just so gorgeous, I love to explore the forest :) Also, gotta give all the love and pet to Capitaine <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good narrative driven adventure. it has some beautiful landscapes, interesting story and great voice acting. I just think it was wasting potential to not let the characters speak french or their native languages the whole game. Also I think the story about some kind of monster and the winter spirit go nowhere and the game would be better without those. For achievement hunters: be wary that the game does not have a chapter select and you can't skip any dialogues or cutscenes, so make sure…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CHOICES MATTER. I absolutely loved that aspect of this game. So many time's I would go back to make sure I made what I felt was the "right choice" in this game. I for sure would recommend this game to anyone one considering buying it. I loved the visuals, character development and history that was thoughtfully included in this game. I hope to see more form the developer. Or a sequel to this game. It delivered a powerful message in a visually stunning way. Playing between the two characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The voice acting is good and the art style makes me think a bit of "The Long Dark". The story is well putted together and at 3 hours in so far, I want to continue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was looking forward for this game for a while now, and I can firmly say now that it DEFINITELY lived up to my expectations!! The landscapes are breathtaking, and the score that acompanies it is nothing short of a masterpiece. The story of the innu natives and the french colonizers that unfolds in this scenery is engaging and very educative, and the attention to details in the dialogues and codex descriptions demonstrates great autenticity and a genuine desire to represent first nations…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't finished the game yet but I love it!! It's beautifully atmospheric, the voice acting is really great, its full of historic facts that are really interesting to read and you can pet the dog!!!!!! I love how your decisions impact the characters and I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay style won't be for everything, this is a fairly simple game focused on telling a very specific, if sometimes heart-wrenching, story in an interesting way that combines the perspectives of two protagonists from very different cultures within an astonishingly beautiful environment. Choices made within the story affect the personalities of the protagonists, and how other characters interact with them, in an ongoing way. A particular appealing feature, for me, was the collection of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well done game with an important message at an important time. Beautiful visuals, atmospheric music, and told in a way that you can't help but empathize and resonate with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is so boooring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good to encourage smaller devs. I'd recommend only if you want to encourage smaller devs. The storyline is nothing exceptional, a story about a two people learning to live together. Gameplay: walking simulator with average animations. French voice acting was good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't just play Two Falls: I embarked on an unforgettable journey - eerie, relaxing and gripping all at once. I particularly loved the unique creative decision allowing the player to experience Autumn in the Canadian wilderness through the eyes of two vastly different characters (hence the title Two Falls). Thanks to the music and the art direction, you can feel that sense of threat, loneliness and desperation, as you cross the snowy, dangerous lands playing as the outsider Jeanne. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i just finished the game Two Falls: Nishu Takuatshina. A must buy game 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story, lovely art style, you can pet the dog. I want more of this, please.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magnifique, magnifique jeu.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 would die for Capitaine
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty awesome! It's been keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The music and ambience is fantastic and really adds to the suspenseful atmosphere, creating a sense of tension that keeps you engaged. The art is stunning, with every detail contributing to the story's emotional depth and overall aesthetic. I really love everything about this game. The added history in the codex is not something to be overlooked
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so beautiful, it's very easy to get lost in the beauty of the environment and all the details. The story so far is great and I can't wait to discover more of it. I will update my comment when I finish the game, but so far it's amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incroyable jeu, je le recommande grandement.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story and the character choices feel impactful! I played the demo, it had me hooked and waiting for the full release: I haven't been disappointed! I also love how it presents this historical period. There aren't a lot of games showcasing well the First Nations and I feel this is one of them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only known Capitaine for 2.7 hours, but if anything happens to him, im killing everyone and myself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is stunning! Capitaine is absolutely adorable. I love how the forest shift between Maikan's vs Jeanne's perspective. Can't wait to play more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To Capitaine, the goodest boy :')
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not much to say on gameplay, walk then click. Graphics... Exist. The story is a little nice, maybe??? It didn't really speak to me... Look, I won't call it bad. But I really can't recommend buying on full price... Or even over 10€... Maybe if you're very intrested in the premise. It's a game I want to like, but I don't...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Good game, what it lacks in gameplay it makes up for in story and giving you choice in how it all unfolds. I was pleasantly surprised by this game, at first I was a bit shocked by the lack of "gameplay," there are no puzzles and nor combat, your inputs are limited to dialogue and navigation. Once I accepted that, I really started to get immersed in the story and really appreciated being able to own the story through the dialogue tree. Aside from that I was a fan of the story, think…
