unlabelledView post →Happy super late #indie review day, this week we look at Turnip Boy Robs a Bank. This sequel to Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion reimagines the series as a twin-stick shooter whose psychopathic lead is recruited to make daily heists on an impractically large bank. It's less funny and more fun to play.

unlabelledView post →I absolutely loved the first one. It had story, side quests, ability to free roam without a timer. This one... not it for me. The quality is not as good, it's too fast-paced on easy mode. You are doing the same thing over and over and the weapons circuit is not the same. I'd stick to Tax Evasion tbh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You play as Turnip Boy that robs a bank over and over. You have a limited amount of time before the cops come and you gradually use your stolen cash for upgrades and buying objects on the dark web. You do not need to play the previous game, but some of the references and characters are shown in the previous Turnip game. Pros: - Good variety of weapons to try out. They drop after defeating enemies and you can increase your weapon luck by buying an upgrade. - Game has some amusing jokes…

unlabelledView post →I absolutely loved tax evasion. This one however was not for me. It is a game that's trying to be to much. It is not a good rogue-lite, especialy in later levels, it is nothing but tedious. Though much more fast-paced, the game is significantly longer, but that's because you need to repeat the same few floors over and over and noone of them realy present you with that many interesting mechanics. The humor is much worse as the game focuses almost only on combat. There is also no puzzles like in…

unlabelledView post →The game still has the nice references and neat quips but the gameplay is definitely less polished than the first game. The gameplay loop and framework makes it feel forced than natural and because it repeats, I feel more critical as I do the stage over again. The game could have used some more cooking from the game design stand point.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay so despite the name being not nearly as good as the first I do love the idea that Turinp Boy's crimes keep getting worse over the games and I really hope if we ever get a third installment it'll be something like “Turnip Boy Commits War Crimes.” I like that they decided to do something different for this game instead of just improving the old formula. I haven't played many rogue-likes due to them typically being too difficult for me but this one was thankfully not too hard! It's also…

unlabelledView post →Hmmm, and hmmm... how do I rate this game. I really wish Steam had a 5 star review or more option, because this is one of those games where it hops between positive and negative review, let's say in the middle. So let's get one thing out of the way: The first turnip boy was a lot better. It's cheaper, it knows what it is more, and the writing in my opinion was better. I do think that the whole "There used to be humans until nuclear war happened, that's why all plants talk" was out of place,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Xbox Completion #87🏆- Turnip Boy Robs a Bank Fun and goofy with fast rogue-lite bank runs, but gets repetitive fast. Going for 100% was a pain thanks to buggy RNG near the end. Solid game, but not much more. 3/5⭐ #IndieGame #Gamepass

unlabelledView post →Another very solid entry in the Turnip Boy franchise, really fun and short roguelike, that keeps things fresh by constantly introducing new weapons, enemies, upgrades and bosses through it's 3 hour runtime, plus some funny writing to top it all off. If you liked the first one, you'll probably enjoy this one as well, highly recommend!
