What people are saying
A short, silly Zelda-like with great humor but simple gameplay.
Players praise the game's humor and silly premise, with many calling it a fun experience. The story is described as insane and surprisingly deep, with a great end credits song. [3][10][12][23]
However, many note the game is very short (2-3 hours) and the combat is too simple, with most enemies dying in one hit. Some find the humor outdated or the beginning boring, and recommend buying on sale. [4][7][8][9][31]

In his review, David Wildgoose of GameSpot praised the game's "relentlessly silly script" and was "positively surprised" by its puzzles, whilst criticizing the controls and noting that not all of its humor "quite lands". The title of [this post](https://infosec.pub/post/5975961) made me think about the best and worst I’ve played this year. The best: - **The Case of the Golden Idol**. Short and sweet mystery game in the vein of Return of the Obra Dinn. Not quite as good IMO but I still liked it quite a bit. - **Marvel’s Midnight Suns**. Don’t let the IP fool you, this is a really solid turn based strategy game, occasionally with really solid writing.…

When I saw a new game release called Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, it piqued my curiosity. Such a contrasting tone in both the gameplay visuals and setting that I wanted to know more. Then I saw that this isn't Turnip Boy's first outing, when he committed another crime in his first debut game, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. For $5 on Steam and GOG it was tempting, but when I saw I already…

neutral · AI labelView post →Happy #indie Saturday. Have you done your taxes yet? Don't be like the "hero" of this week's review, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. This Zelda-style adventure is dense with activities, but set on a tiny map. The jokes land inconsistently. It's adequate, but too short to make an impact.

Edit: I almost forgot PC Building Simulator with the IT Expansion!
neutral · AI labelView post →I would like to emphasize that our sweet little turnip boy did not, in fact, commit tax evasion, but was merely guilty of simple tax delinquency, according to §7201 and §7203 of the U.S.C., since he did not intentionally and unlawfully underfile taxes, but simply failed to pay them. That aside, great game, very realistic (if any vegetable were to commit tax delinquency, it would be a turnip).
