Will update if they ever patch it. >> [url=http://store.steampowered.com/news/?appids=433840&appgroupname=Trulon%3A+The+Shadow+Engine&feed=steam_updates] Click here for update change-log << -------------------------------- I usually do not write reviews but after seeing a few people on my friendlist having this game on their wishlists, I am compelled to give you my opinion of the game as of the 19th…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just beat the game after 10 hours of playing. Seeing "unique card combat system" is what initially got my attention. The combat system was more simplistic than I expected and there weren't many types of different attacks. I expected the Mage to have more attacks than just a generic magic attack and expected the Thief to have "Thief-like" abilities, not yet another Mage. The main reason why I can't recommend this game is that there are a couple areas that you re-visit, but the storyline/quest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for $20 i can't really recommend this its short, feels unbalanced in places, and once you beat it there's no wandering the world so your forced to start a new game without a newgame+. if you do get it on sale or in a bundle make sure you fight every enemy in the area and get at lest 1 level in the field after each one and you should be fine. if you don't you'll run into the imbalance issues. sometimes enemies seem to hit way to hard and the way the game is set up fights seem to random and/or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →honestly beyond me how this got a "mostly possitive" rating While the graphics have a nice feel, the story scripting is BADLY BROKEN, any back tracking (which you will need to do because of the poor balancing) will trigger bugs that will cause you to be at multiple points in the story often preventing you from progressing... The combat is basically a white wash either is very very easy or impossible there is almost no middle ground - there is some slight strategy but because of the (lack of)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About this game, remind the classics RPG, it´s a based turn RPG mixed with TCG style Pros: - You just need use mouse to play (click and point) and ESC to acess menu - Nice OST - The artwork is good - Make your own fight style by collecting tactics (cards) dropped after a battle Cons: - Will be good if have more ways to save game, since you only can save game when you are closing the game; but this is not really a problem. So i recommend this game!

This did not influence my review in any way. ========================================================== ---------------------------------------OVERVIEW------------------------------------- ========================================================== Trulon: the Shadow Engine is a console-style RPG in an original fantasy steampunk world, with combat based on a battle card system using cards you collect as treasures throughout…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't really understand why this game is still mixed and has only 14 reviews (at the time of writing), while worse products have hunderds of users. It's start easily and then many more tactics are introduced. There is definite depth in this game, but it does great job by introducing stuff just at the right speed. You are getting few heroes with lots of cards (tactics) which you later use for smacking opponents. The most fun are combos, where you chain several cards together for extra damage…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't say this very often, in fact, this is probably my first time... Don't buy it. I don't say that with a malicious intent, but as a simple statement from an experienced RPG player. The game mechanics themselves were not terrible, and the graphics were pretty for the most part. However, this in no way made up for the faults of the game. I have come to expect a certain amount of bugs and unpolished work in games of this era. Games are pushed through to quickly, in my opinion, and not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't remember what service I got this game from, but I really enjoyed this game. I see there's a lot of negative reviews on this game, which is one of the reasons why I decided to play it. I have to disagree with most of the reviews. They say the game is unbalanced, but I contend that it's just balanced differently. I read the end boss was way too hard. I found it an enjoyable fight. I definately recommend this game to anyone. Find it on sale if you can, but it's a fun game. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love the combat in this game and the story is decent although i did predicted it's ending midway but it doesn't bother me. There are a couple of glitches that almost ruined my playthrough that made me redo most of the storyline quests just so i can continue playing on my save file. The game is rather short and i feel like this game could really use keyboard controls for movement. The keyboard shorcuts are also very odd ... i feel like it would have been better if the shorcuts were placed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Public Review on behalf of the Opium Pulses Steam group Disclaimer: The copy of this game was provided by the publisher for review purposes Few words about the game Trulon: The Shadow Engine is an amazing RPG game that mixes up few styles of gameplay, creating quite an unique combination of RPG, steampunk and fantasy elements. Using a card based combat system, which can be customized any way you want thanks to a diversity of cards you can obtain after fights, your goal is to save kingdom from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trulon: The Shadow Engine is a game that is very much a mix of styles. The look and tone of Trulon is bright, colourful, soft looking, but its story is something a little more complex than one side good, one side bad, but it is a game that's lacking a bit of punch Trulon: The Shadow Engine is a mix of traditional JRPG gameplay with card battling and deck building. There’s an overworld, the occasional random battle, levelling, even items to equip. The levelling in particular makes a real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →get it cheap. i know its sadly $20 for pc since its only a $5 mobile game port from what i understand. got it for $0.77 in a $2.99 4 game bundle :D mostly good game. fortunately i didn't experience any game breaking bugs like others have. Story was... peculiar. It flowed in a weird way. Normally things go A B C D E... but most of the time the dialogue progressing the storyline was A C E... Perhaps if one were to read the novel \ universe the game is based on. example. if i were to continue…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trulon: The Shadow Engine is a game I’m really enjoying, but I’m not entirely sure why. It’s a pretty run of the mill JRPG with a somewhat interesting combat system, yet there’s something about the look, music and general theme that I really enjoy. The most interesting part of Trulon is the combat system. While it has your normal JRPG non-sense it takes a book out of Collectible Card Games by making the abilities you used based off a card deck. Your deck can be as large as you want, but you’re…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Complete Waste of money. Devs abandoned this game in an unfinished form. Few games have as many bugs as this game. Unless this game is offered to you for free I would not ever recommend anyone to buy this game. I would 0/100 stars.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I made a review after being give a key for this game from the maker, and This game was promising but then became very redundant, the battles were repetitive, the skills didn't really do anything, I made a video for the review on my channel, but in the end it just went downhill from there so I did not include it here. So to forgo my normal review this game does not look like it has progressed from its original release. If they spent more time into the combat system and the animations, this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun little rpg with a surprising amount of strategy to it. Though short, this game has an interesting storyline and very different gameplay from most rpgs. Rather than having a fixed set of skills that a character can perform every round, you, instead, have a deck of tactics that you can customize, but are randomly drawn from over the course of battle. The graphics for this game are pretty good. Not excellent, but most people shouldn't complain. The gameplay is pretty simple and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction With some gorgeous art style, that really suit the type of game genre, Trulon: The shadow engine strives to be a different type of RPG game with some interesting features. It is a card based RPG based based upon a book by Jak Koke, writer of the Shadowrun trilogy and The Dragon Heart Saga. Gameplay Based upon a book by Jak Koke, Trulon: The shadow engine is set in a steampunk universe where a young hunter called Gladia has discovers a plot to poison her homeland, from using the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To read my full review, visit Mouse N' Joypad; http://mousenjoypad.com/reviews/pc/trulon-the-shadow-engine-review/ While it may be based on a novelized series, Trulon feels like a shell of a narrative experience. The story is paper thin, and the characters aren’t given any real development. The combat system is inventive and embraces the charm of MTG and other tabletop games, but bogs down the experience with unnecessarily boring and repetitive animations. The game was designed for mobile…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trulon is a nice little card battler with endearing low-poly visuals. My first thought was the game developers are some Asian dudes with all the foxes and monkeys as opponents but whaddaya know turns out it's a small team from Finland. The story kept me entertained from start to finish. While the game isn't as bug ridden as some reviews make it seem I encountered one game breaking myself. The save mechanism is problematic because if something goes wrong you're stuck with your single save…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Keep in mind this review is from someone who did NOT experience a bug. Everything about this game was pretty generic. As a long time RPG player I could predict basically everything that was going to happen. If that’s fine with you, then OK. The battle system was OK, I like the general idea of adding cards to your active deck and having some type of randomness of what you can play to keep the combat fresh. I just don’t think the cards themselves-or the characters for that matter-were very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the game, but there are a few things that definitely detract from the experience. + Combat is fun, though it took a couple battles to "get it". + Art is nice, if simplistic ~ Music is decent, but repetitive. ~ Character development is a bit bland ~ Game is a bit short. I put in 12 hours, but could have easily knocked a couple hours off. - The UI handling in combat needed more attention, in terms of both delay and display. I'll leave it at that. - Ending was a bit abrupt. - One of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks okay and has half decent (if not well balanced) game mechanics, but it's buggy - and some bugs are game breaking. I just ran into one and I can't progress any further. Due to the nature of the save system I can't go back so I've just lost the hour and a bit of progress I've made so far. Imagine if that happened after 10 or 12 hours? Combat could go faster if they'd put in an option to display damage/healing/effects on the combat screen instead of going to a skip-able…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trulon: The Shadow Engine: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The region of Tripudia experiences an increasing surge of monsters, especially near the village of Meadow Hills. The Mayor of the village needs a monster hunter to resolve this situation straight away. As your father (who is the master monster hunter) has been injured in your last battle, you are now the one who needs to step up. Where has this eruption of beats come from? Or, who is behind it? Trulon: The Shadow Engine is an RPG / TCG style…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little RPG title that permeates a warm & fuzzy retro feeling. Appealing visuals and music, a straightforward story, some challenging card- and turn-based battles... what more can you ask for? I'm not the biggest fan of the character portraits, and some simplistic 3D graphics reveal the game's mobile roots - but that also means it comes with intuitive controls and very low system requirements. An enjoyable game with a lighthearted tone for the casual RPG player. Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a nice adventure game with many missions, the combat can be hard sometimes, but you learn to win the battle eventually I played it for almost 2 hours in a row now and im still curious for whats next https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyJuRjRjSTA
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the beginning I was not so convinced - another mobile game porting. But then I had to admit, this game is really cute. Good soundtrack, good writings, Turn-Based/Combat mechanics is fun (despite a little random about tactics cards you will get), story a bit clichè but definitely entertaining. Maybe full price is a bit too much, but bought with 40% and definitely I don't repent I bought it :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wait for a sale. It's a very short, linear, shallow RPG with card based combat which isn't particularly good. Most of the time the luck of the draw will screw you over more than anything, and there's no mechanic to draw more cards or redraw your hand if you get a bunch of duds.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played a little bit of this game so far, but I'm already hooked. It's a simple RPG with a card battle system. The randomness of potential attacks keeps things interesting and unpredictable, which is a refreshing change of pace.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a great time playing this game. I did not experience any bugs in the comment, nor did I feel that the game was not balanced. I recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very linear game with only a handful of different enemy models. Only 3 items/ char and no stores, consumeables or crafting , skills or free stat points restricts the customization of your party a lot. While the combat starts interesting at first, the wildcard system is very easy to abuse: At some point all you do is using the Haste combo on your main char for multi buffed aoe dmg while stunlocking everything. The mana system is just terrible: You have to manage different kind of mana based on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The other reviewers are either too demanding or had bad luck. I didn't have trouble with bugs or the difficulty level. $20 seems overpriced compared to other games on Steam, though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Turn-based Adventure RPG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOgFwzlmST0 + Beautiful graphics / art style + Fantastic sountrack (especially the battle theme) + Very well thought out strategic card system that makes the turn-based combat system fun and rewarding (ESPECIALLY later on when you are fighting much tougher enemies) + Great dialogue, and characters + Good story + Challenging boss fights - I feel like there could have been a bit more variety in enemy types, I feel like you face the same…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has interesting mechanics and the gameplay with cards can create fun experimentation. The story is simple but good. I can recommend this game only when it is on sale however as it is a little short for such a price. It is a pretty game with nice characters and interesting gameplay but it is a little short. You would expect a longer game for 15 quid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like 1/4 of a plot, and the ending basically admits it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too short. It feels like a $2 game because of how little there is. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plus: Stunning artwork Minus: After a short while it gets thoroughly frustrating to run into impossibly overpowered enemies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neat turn based story and fighting games, not rid of bugs but nothing gamebreaking. Tadbit short perhaps if you think 5 hours is short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who thought it would be a good idea to have every single attack be a cutscene? The most boring cutscene ever too, at least you can skip it but then you don't see the damage numbers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an ok game - Grab it during a sale and you ain't doing something wrong
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been very entertaining so far, the art work and graphic style of the game is smooth and pleasing bu not over the top as fa as graphics go. Music is mediocore but not annoying. Storyline is fun and entertaining, has kept me moving forward and entertained even though it isnt very complex. Character devlopment isnt very difficult but has just enough RPG elements to it to make it fun. The battle card system is fun and kind of unique, have had several battles where i had to change…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/DDx_g_nB_QA Spread across too many genres the party based, deck building, crafting, rpg struggles to lock into any one area.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure if it gets better, but the gameplay is very shallow, enemies repetitive and the cards are boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a great game by any means, but it isn't too long and I had fun. The sad thing is, Trulon could have been much better with a little more love and time, I think. The setting is interesting, graphics are nice but a little on the low-detail side, and mechanics are balanced, though I don't care much for deckbuilders. On the other hand, there are game-breaking bugs with backtracking, the UI is a little annoying, and some content seems to be outright missing -- some (de-)buffs don't show as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games super boring with a lame story
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, I quite enjoyed this game. It's not a long game so I was surprised when I couldn't find any information or coverage on it aside from a few Youtubers who streamed the game. It's a different sort of RPG and I like how the battles play out using cards or "tactics". A lot of the complaints I've seen are about how the enemies are overpowered and not balanced. I didn't have any issues with any enemies and didn't really need to grind either. Once you get the right tactics, you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, unfortunately it doesn't do anything better than okay. The concept behind the combat is interesting, but not well implemented. The story (as far as I have played) barely counts as a story and is more an excuse to get you from one location to the next. Item management sucks. I kept playing partly because I had nothing better to do and was hoping it would get better. It didn't. I stopped getting rewards fro winning fights that were challenging and decided it's time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, but it needs a lot of polish to become a great game. First the pros: Trading cards + RPG is a fantastic idea, and it's reasonably well-executed here Most of the art is good The UI is well-designed for mouse+keyboard The storyline is decent Cons: The tactics system is not well-explained in the game. I had to look up the difference between the cards on the left and the cards on the right, and how they are replenished The game has "full controller support", but it's janky.…

Till then here is a quick look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnQwTbZTaIw Pros: Nice Character models Open World Simplistic battle mechanics Cons: Animations bug out at times No footstep sounds or ambience Movement takes getting used to Again, review to be updated. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trulon: The Shadow Engine is a modest yet ambitious attempt by Kyy Games to merge classic RPG storytelling with a unique tactical card-based battle system. It places players in the role of Gladia, a young monster hunter drawn into a conflict that intertwines fantasy, mystery, and steampunk technology. From its very first scenes, the game introduces a world that feels both familiar and distinctive—a setting where arcane energy and mechanical contraptions coexist uneasily, hinting at a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The poor visuals/balance isn't worth the full price, if you get it on some sale, might be worth the adventure though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun so far although the story seems kinda predictable. We shall see!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, but don't get for full price. It's a fairly simple and good RPG.
