What I don't understand is why they felt the need to add Epic DRM to the game over 15 years after the game released. Usually, companies tend to remove DRM down the line, not add it. It also breaks online co-op with a vague "error 0" message, which isn't very helpful. Luckily, they keep a separate branch with the version before the added DRM, which took me some time to realise was needed for online co-op, but it just…

It’s the kind of game that immediately grabs you with its charm and then keeps you hooked with smart, well crafted gameplay. The artistic design is a huge part of its appeal. The world is vibrant, colorful, and almost storybook-like, with beautiful environments that feel alive and magical. A lot of players still point to Trine as one of the best looking 2.5D platformers,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like others have pointed out, the game installs Epic Online Services upon launch without your consent(Enhanced Edition only, it seems). Decided to still give the original a chance, but I didn't really enjoy it for the most part, mainly due to the clunky controls. Definitely cannot recommend on full price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact that this installs Epic Online Software on my PC without my permission is a huge red flag. I don't like Epic. I don't trust Epic. I don't want Epic software on my PC. So screw these devs. I read somewhere else someone had to block it from sending info to Epic EVERY time you launch the game, so that's again, another reason I hope these devs don't deserve to be in the industry.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This'll be short and sweet. Trine is a 16yr old game that is still just beautiful to look at and just as fun to play. Being able to switch between the three characters on the fly is so much fun as they each have their strengths. For me, the wizard and knight were the most useful while the thief, while a cool character, wasn't quite as useful until later in the game. Still, all characters are fun to use and I'd say all have a place in the game. I played on the default difficulty, which is to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 Good Even in Local Co-op The story isn't a big deal. Some puzzles are tricky, but in general, it's fun with friends. The wizard is overpowered when it comes to solving puzzles or reaching to high platforms, and I love it. The thief has a grappling hook, and she's good with ranged attacks. The knight is great for close combat and pushing heavy objects. (I played this game primarily in local co-op on my friend's PC.) Bom Até em Co-op Local A história não é grande coisa. Alguns…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Thief, a Wizard and a Knight Walk into a Bar... Trine is a beautiful indie action platformer. It was one of the standout indies before the floodgates on Steam opened up. These days, good indies are harder to find and can easily get buried, which is a shame because Trine is one of those games that deserves to shine. The game strikes a great balance between action, platforming, and puzzle solving. That balance is what made it such a gem. The original Trine is still my favorite in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and frustrating. Decent graphics, but very slow and combat is stupid. Finally quit after slogging through too many completely dark sections where you just land on traps constantly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jumping is extremely janky and makes the game insufferable at times
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely loved this game! Perfect for playing with a friend or two. The puzzles are brilliantly designed and can be solved in countless ways depending on how creative you get with each character’s abilities. For a 2D platformer, this was way more fun than I anticipated. I was genuinely impressed at how entertaining and engaging it stayed throughout.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played this since 2018. I beat the last boss... it's only now getting a review because, like the rest of the trine series, it's probably had Epic Games DRM added on & that earns a thumbs down.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful classic! The graphics may be old-fashioned, but they give the game a timeless charm — cozy, magical, and full of atmosphere.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →such a tiring game to play, due to janky controls & physics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The worst-handling, jankiest controls I've ever encountered in a platformer. No big deal, it's just a fun fantasy romp, I'll cope. Oh, the devs ran out of time to complete their homework, so turned the last level into a precision platformer out of nowhere, but with these controls? Naw, you goof'd, son. 4 hours to get to the last level 4 and a half to finish the last level. It's the shortest level. All of the fun that I had with the first 4 hours is wiped away by my bitterness at the design…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →me and my boyfriend have been playing it and I love how much fun we've had while he carries me through the game and I get to use my wizard voice >;3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyed this. Still holds up visually and the puzzles are well designed and can be approached in multiple ways.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A modern reflexion platformer that feels like Lost Vikings, with enchanting music and visuals
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started this series with part 4, and it's immediately clear how much the series has improved. This part is good, although I found it a bit short in terms of play time. It's better to play with someone, it's much more fun and interesting, and a helping hand would be very welcome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →omg so happy i finally got to try this game series, it was rlly fun and its 100% worth playing thru
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting game and fun gameplay, puzzles are nice and entertaining and not too difficult, good coop game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The beginning of the great puzzle platformer series. I've been very excited to try this game, since i've beaten the 4th game first, and i love that game so much, so i wanted to see how the series started. I think this one is good, just good. The story is ok, the gameplay is a mix, and the graphic also a mix. From the gameplay, what i don't really like is the movement. Sometimes the character goes over the way i intend to, like missing the ledge, or sometimes land on the edge and slip to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the game, great mechanics, great scenery. All-in-all a good platformer. Especially fun when playing with a friend (or friends)! Can't wait to play the sequels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compatibility note: On Linux, the Windows version or an older release should be used for multiplayer compatibility. Review: The original Trine game is a fun 3 player co-op game still worth picking up and playing. Of the games I played so far (and probably all), it is the most elaborate with it's special items. The writing is quite mediocre in this first entry, it gets better but be prepared for this when starting with this part. It feels a bit short and the physics get janky, but considering…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% in <12 hours. Great game. Little short for the price and sometimes a bit janky.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: A charming fairytale platformer with clever physics puzzles and three distinct characters that play off each other well. Simple, fun, and easy to recommend on sale. PROS: ➕Physics-based puzzles ➕Music ➕Fairytale vibe ➕Skills/Items add a nice touch of progression NEUTRALS: 🔹Story could be better, especially the characters, they could be fleshed out more CONS: ➖Epic DRM is a thing on this old game? ➖Precision keys are helpful on KBM, but platforming isn’t as great ➖Lack of enemy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool co-op game where you can switch between 3 characters. Puzzles are interesting and based on physics. It's hard to find all extras but thanks to it game is challenging in its own way ~~[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44342408-Sanctuary-for-Strange-People/]Check my curator's page!~~

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is a middling thumbs up for me. The puzzles are alright, the world is pretty. The music is fine. There just isn't a lot in here for me. I haven't played this in years, but I've been going back to see which games I skipped writing reviews for and this was one of them. I didn't like the second game and I didn't bother with the third game. This one doesn't really stick out in my memory. I know that the series as whole is hard for me to recommend because the controls are so awkward. I find…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game! Recommend to play with a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are quite janky, especially jumping, but other than that the game is not bad. Grab on discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coop gaming is impossible, because of the controller button problems. Cannot jump or do anything, or configure buttons.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros +Interesting, physics-based puzzle solving (mixed with combat and platforming) +Three distinct characters to switch between, each with their own abilities +Co-op support for up to three players Cons -Physics can be janky at times -The Wizard tends to overshadow the Thief during puzzles and platforming, as his ability to create boxes and bridges can make her toolkit feel redundant Comments Trine Enchanted Edition is an interesting game that blends…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fine. The story is uninteresting, but the whole switching between characters in adaptation to the current situation is kinda cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this game series with one of my best friends, a few years back. It is unique and one of the best fantasy puzzle game out there. I absolutely love it and strongly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun but short game, it took me 7 hours to get to the end credits. The game relies heavily on physics puzzles, and reminds me of Little Big Planet. There are 3 characters to switch between, and each has their own differnt abilities; the wizard can create platforms, the knight has a sword and shield to melee and defend, and the thief has a grappling hook and bow to swing/climb or shoot at enemies. The puzzles are quite easy because it's not really prescribed as to how you progress, and you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The platforming is great the skeletons are in hell and the quest is complete. If your debating buy it for you and your buddies and have fun laughing raging and maybe holding back tears.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game that started off something unique.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 would recommend. Me and my wife have played this in co-op mode and it is amazing how you can solve puzzles and approach combat/movement as a team or individually. The 3 character types adds significant variation. The initial story leaves some room for improvement but this only improves as the series goes on.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, well rounded, young children friendly good puzzle and thrill into it, me and my 10 years old could not put it down for the first 3 hours, well done developers! good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s good; I had a decent time in local co-op.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Immersive and captivating, well-made game mechanics!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game built on a fun formula that inspired the creators to develop four more full titles. That alone says a lot, this is a solid franchise. If you’re thinking about buying it, I’d definitely recommend getting all five games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still enjoying 16 years later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trine feels like a real fairy tale exactly the kind I imagined as a kid. The music, the atmosphere, the characters — everything just clicks. The controls are simple and intuitive, the skills are fun to play around with, and the visuals still feel magical. But the real highlight is the co-op. I strongly recommend playing it with friends it turns the game into an unforgettable journey through a beautiful fantasy world, full of small moments you’ll remember long after the credits roll. I played…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an absolutely amazing puzzle game. After we finally saved the kingdom and fulfilled our duty to the Trine, I was sad to hang up my sword. I spent my days exactly how a hero should--celebrating our victory with endless feasts and enjoying the finest refreshments the land had to offer. It was an honor to serve my country in this way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a great story and classic concept, like Gobliiins. BUt it is EXTEMELY buggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first learned of this game back on the Xbox 360 having tried out a demo and really enjoying it. This game makes great use of Nvidia's PhysX engine in helping traverse various puzzles with a Mage who can conjure items like boxes and planks, a Thief that can shoot arrows and swing from wooden objects, and a Warrior who essentially fights off most of the enemies in close range. If you enjoy Portal and putting your mind to solving puzzles in a fantasy environment, feel free to give this game a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxed couch co-op for you and your girlfriend. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played Trine as a kid when it came out, and I would still recommend it to everyone who likes platformer games. Switching mid-air between characters, speed-running through levels, annihilating skeletons... The game has much to offer despite there being four other Trine games. The music is wonderful, graphics and details, while not as high-cut as today, still surprisingly nice. It's a lot of fun, and worth coming back to if you too have played it in the past, or if you enjoyed another…
