Trials Rising is a 2019 racing video game developed by Ubisoft RedLynx and Ubisoft Kyiv and published by Ubisoft. It was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on February 26, 2019 and for Stadia on November 19, 2019. The game has bad qualities, for sure - the UI/World Map is a mess and navigating from track to track because of it can be a chore and take time to get used to, there is an in-game currency that gets you cosmetics which are also tied to crates, another terrible feature. I finally broke that rule because I bought a second controller and wanted some fun local co-op games to play with my kid. Trials seemed perfect for that, especially on sale. I already regret giving Ubisoft any money. I bought the game on Steam, downloaded it on Steam, and just wanted to play local multiplayer. Some say only an issue on Windows 11 (Windows 10 loses support this month), some say certain graphics cards, some say certain settings. Tried a bunch of different things myself with no success, and no logs I can find in the game folder or appdata that I could use to help RedLynx/Ubisoft suss out the cause or sort out what is specific to my machine that causes the game to not launch. Open Powershell as administrator, change the directory (cd then space) to where Trials Rising is located.
