It pains me to say this, but animated scifi is littered with underperforming films: Treasure Planet, Titan AE, Meet the Robinsons, Mars Needs Moms, Chicken Little, Lightyear, Strange Planet, etc. Even the original Lilo & Stitch was originally only a modest success. www.bbc.com/culture/arti...

unlabelledView post →Been studying some Disney movie art styles like Treasure Planet, Atlantis, and some others. I always loved how they did expressions so maybe I'll study that next time! The Character Design References website was really helpful for this! #solatorobo
unlabelledView post →During the trip, I showed Treasure Planet a friend who'd never seen it, and cried for most of it. I love that movie, it always resonated with me
unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet in my opinion.. Is a PEAK movie! 😌
unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet is my gf's favorite Disney movie, I'd never seen it so we watched it last night. If Disney animation had gone in that direction instead of the homogeneous shit now the world would be in a better place. So into this bizarre juxtaposition of janky yet compelling CG and 2D animation

unlabelledView post →Watched Treasure Planet last night with my bff, was surprised to find out that unlike what my judgey little teenage self thought, it did NOT suck and the CGI didn't look like a rotten thumb. Beautiful movie! First Disney protagonist who looks like they drink too much.

unlabelledView post →“Oh boy, I can’t wait to see what other worlds are going to be in KH4! Maybe they’ll do Zootopia, Incredibles, or maybe finally Treasure Planet!” The Frozen 2, live-action Jungle Cruise movie, and Good Dinosaur world trailer drops at Tokyo Game Show:
unlabelledView post →I still think that Disney's 'Treasure Planet' would make for an amazing TTRPG setting. It's an excellent movie that deserves more love.
unlabelledView post →I know this is an ice cold take at this point but it's a fucking crime Treasure Planet wasn't appreciated in its time, there's nothing wrong with this movie and there's SO much right with it
unlabelledView post →For one, Moana is extremely popular and has a hastily made sequel coming out. For two, here are five solid, beautiful, actually underrated animated cult Disney films that barely get mentioned/merched. 1. The Rescuers Down Under 2. Atlantis 3. Treasure Planet 4. Meet the Robinsons 5. A Goofy Movie
unlabelledView post →Yes, this is one of the best tabletop-rpg-party movies ever made. Like The Mummy or The Princess Bride. Edit: or Treasure Planet
unlabelledView post →Just finished rewatching Treasure Planet with my son & this still stands as one of the most underrated Disney films of all time! I bawl tears during numerous scenes every time i watch it. But it also still gets me cheering during lots of other moments. Such a great film man!
unlabelledView post →Cool parallel to Treasure Planet in the new Skeleton Crew SM-33 once knew of At Attin, but his memory has since been scrambled. In the Disney animated film Treasure Planet, an old robot named BEN (voiced by Martin Short) has his memory erased in order to prevent others from finding a lost treasure
unlabelledView post →Any Treasure Planet enjoyers here? I adore this film. I know Disney considered this a 'flop', I just love the visuals and charm. Extremely memorable for me.
unlabelledView post →The cute cat lady ship captain from that Treasure Planet movie would have looked SO MUCH better with a tail imho
unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet is an underrated Disney film... Also the song "I'm Still Here" as well...
unlabelledView post →“Look at you glowing like a solar fire.” I heard a song that sounds like Treasure Planet, which made me watch the movie, which made me think about the klance Treasure Planet fic “I’m Still Here” by infinitesongbird. It’s all so good. #klance #treasureplanet #klanceau
unlabelledView post →master and commander and treasure planet* *it wouldn't be a "crossover" so much as just Jim Hawkins as an officer in the Terran Empire's navy it's just master and commander but in the Treasure Planet universe give me the movie, Disney, you COWARDS
unlabelledView post →Meanwhile the Treasure Planet game goes, "Okay, the film ends with Jim Hawkins in the navy, but there's a navy, there's pirates, got it, okay" and then has the first few missions being you as Lt. Jim Hawkins escorting imperial convoys while protecting them from pirates and fending off space wildlife

unlabelledView post →Tonight, the kid and I are watching TREASURE PLANET #filmsky
unlabelledView post →So I was rewatching Treasure Planet just now and there's a joke that I never picked up on until now after seeing this movie 100 times. Doppler mentions Alponian chowder in his introduction, Alpo is a brand of dog food.
unlabelledView post →348.) Treasure Planet (2002) Still pretty damn good. Some of the writing and CGI puts the film squarely in 2002, but overall it's everything you want out of a Treasure Island adaptation. Still wish history allowed this to be the first step towards something rather than the end of something.
unlabelledView post →I can’t believe Treasure Planet flopped in the box office back when I was 2. This movie is great… Fuck Disney and all, but I really like this movie.
unlabelledView post →It’s also funny to remember Treasure Planet premiered against the first Harry Potter movie which is like, man, you were gonna DIE in any circumstance there.
unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet is my favorite disney movie because i loved the high adventure and space fantasy themes not for like gender or therian reasons . ok fine there were gender reasons

unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet. It's probably a good thing that Disney's forgotten about it. I don't wanna see them try to remake it.
unlabelledView post →Treasure Planet immediately followed up by Muppet Treasure Island movie night.

unlabelledView post →#TavQOTD #BG3QOTD #BG3 #BG3OC Sorry to be lame, but Treasure Planet is a Disney movie, so Bo's song has always been, "I'm Still Here".
unlabelledView post →This is your reminder to watch TREASURE PLANET, especially if you've been enjoying Skeleton Crew. This film was done very dirty by Disney execs re: marketing and they ultimately used its poor box office as the excuse to shutter their 2D division. It's also one of the best things they ever funded.

unlabelledView post →Some of Disney's best films were punishments Katzenberg took "B squad" artists off his baby Pocahontis to work on a some lame Lion King flick Musker/Clements had to direct Hercules or no Treasure Planet. Artists on Lilo and Stitch made the "Florida filler film" while California finished Brother Bear

unlabelledView post →The Chainsaw Man movie mixes had drawn animation with CGI - just like Sinbad (2003), Treasure Planet ( 2002), Blue Submarine Number 6 ( 1998) , and Great Mouse Detective (1986)
unlabelledView post →Watching Treasure Planet now, an indisputably good movie
unlabelledView post →I always find the conspiracy theory some have that "Treasure Planet" flopped, because Disney sabotaged it with minimal marketing to be odd. I was around in 2002. They actually marketed it a lot. People just weren't interested. letterboxd.com/mrcoat/film/...
unlabelledView post →Or movies with good stories that flopped at the box office. If Disney wants to do a new live action remake, why not The Black Cauldron or Atlantis or Treasure Planet? Get a director and some writers who long to make an exciting fantasy film and you've got a good start...
unlabelledView post →Disney should re-release Treasure Planet for its 25th anniversary next year. Both in theaters and in IMAX considering it was the first film in history to be released in both at the same time.
unlabelledView post →Watched Treasure Planet with the friend group last night and im lamenting that movie flopping but happy because its probably safe from being live actioned
unlabelledView post →I'm case you’re not familiar Long John Silver (the image is from the movie Treasure Planet, which is based on the book Treasure Island) it's the founding image of the pirate stereotype; he gets himself and his pirate crew to be hired as honest sailors, only to do mutiny when the treasure is close.

unlabelledView post →I think the point is that the emotions of the family trauma are more focused on. - Snow White in the movie seems like just this kid who this lady really wants to murder. You don’t really see much indicating that she’s been through a rough childhood till that point. - Cinderella does go deeper into more prolonged torture, but it doesn’t feel like they are family at all. She’s not being gaslit by family members she wants to trust, she’s literally just a slave to these assholes who stole her…
