Every time we take the kids to the railroad museum I'm filled with a powerful desire to play Transport Fever, which is a problem since it's a great game except they forgot to include the game part of the game

I rarely buy AAA titles anymore and I don’t think I’m missing much. So many good indie/small developers putting out great stuff. my most anticipated game this year is Transport Fever 3. As far as I know Urban Games doesn’t lay off staff after every release.

Transport Fever was a fun game, but it isn't compatible with modern systems. Textures don't load properly, features and controls simply don't work. Trying to play Transport Fever in 2023 is like trying to play a game from 2002, in 2023. There's too many incompatibilities, and too many work arounds required to play the game in a half broken state.

Hard to say that I don't recommend this one, but I've never seen a transport tycoon-like with such a hostile industry chain and pax network building. (Or at least, based on the early campaign missions) Goods get produced by industries, and then stockpiled to wait for something to come pick them up. Pick up goods from producer, take them to a consumer, get paid. All good so far, try to increase your throughput to make more money, yeah? But for some godforsaken reason, the industries in…

Maybe not as a thread, but similarly I have been playing way too much Transport Fever 2 again recently. So enjoy some mediocre screenshots from my current, and very much work in progress, game. And yes, these liveries make no sense together. I'm being lazy and using my continental Europe mod list.

I expected a Transport Tycoon on steroids, but the only thing I got was disappointment. Seems like the devs spent too much time and resources on the video mode and npc citizens than on actual gameplay. + cities and vehicles look great + goofy TT music and vibe + lines manager + the campaigns are good - maps are too small, even the large ones - outside the cities and factories is just bare emptiness - no AI competion in free mode - road vehicles CANNOT OVERTAKE! that's crazy – you can upgrade…

Transport Fever is like if OpenTTD was 3D and otherwise worse in every way. The game is slow, signals are functionally inadequate, elevation and curvature makes everything difficult with train tracks, supply lines are inconsistent, cargo management is a pain, and overall this game just makes me wish I was playing OpenTTD instead. Don't get it.

Do yourself a favor and get the sequels instead. The industries and passengers are incredibly frustrating to deal with on all levels. For industries what I assume is happening they have no idea of a supply chain in their code. i.e. try running a long ship line, where the producing industry will only ship out a first burst of goods and then arbitrarily stop, presumably because it thinks it would overfill the target recipient, leaving 4 of your ships running empty. Further on that, the industries…

Transport Fever is a transport tycoon-style simulation game that offers a deep, engaging experience for fans of logistics, infrastructure, and the economic intricacies of moving people and goods. Developed by Urban Games, it serves as a spiritual successor to classic titles like Transport Tycoon and Railroad Tycoon, delivering a modern take on building and managing a transport empire. It spans over 150 years of transportation history—from the mid-19th century to the present day—and gives…

You spend more time fighting the UI than playing the game. Just awful. Loads of dialogs to accomplish simple tasks. Loads of dialogs to close since they stay open on the screen. No way of getting overview of economy for long-term planning. Lots of micromanagement but no macromanagement. The most miserable, petty and misleading track- and road-laying editor. Incredibly disrespectful of player's time. So glad to be deleting this from my HD and glad it was just a couple of bucks I spent on…

The game's documentation is significantly lacking, and the track laying process is user hostile. Even after overcoming that, it seems like the revenue mechanics are also badly tuned in the main campaign, making it a boring slog to even get through the first mission.

I mean, even if you don't play this type of game regularly I would HIGHLY recommend checking out. Especially with TF3 announced! Personally I have a 300+ mod list so make full empires of transport over 100s of years (in game) then play again and have a completely unique game.

It takes some figuring out... Many things are not obvious (freight can get dropped off at passenger terminals). Overall its fun to build large multimodal transport networks. It would be nice if you could look around when you ride in your transportation vehicle. Good for offline and hours of play.

This is a fun game once you get it working right, but I wouldn't check "recommend" because this game requires a user manually modifying the lua files to work as intended. I don't think most gamers even know what a lua file is, and probably think I am typing in 133t$p3@k right now. The game is fun. It's Train fever again, but without all the performance issues that made anything longer than a couple hours of gameplay impossible in that game. It adds new methods of transport like boats and…

Still holds up well in 2026. There are some minor annoyances, such as a single misplaced signal making you check an entire line segment by segment instead of telling you where your line is broken, or the inability to upgrade an entire line to electric with a single click, but these are very minor things. Overall this is a well thought out game that will provide days of entertainment.

Good game overall, despite some clucky aura on how the building system works and the UI. To play effectively, you need to understand how the resources allocation system works. I believe the resource system is kind of flawed in my opinion. Unfortunately this process is trail and error since the game has no way to visualize were passenger or cargo needs to go and this can be frustrating. And at this point you might be better off getting the transport fever 2 or 3 and skipping over this one…

Wastes the player's time because players need to have to work out how the game works instead of just having a manual that tells you exactly what does what, and how it all connects up so that it functions as normal. Seems a little buggy and wastes time with rail cargo transfers from rail terminal sites in campaign mode. (Panama Canal Campaign) Placing objects down feels clunky and causes funds to be used accidentally, forcing player to load an auto save. I am not sure about Transport Fever 2,…

Maybe the most addicting transport game I've played -- which says a lot considering I've been getting addicted to these games since Railroad Tycoon back on DOS. It does require a bit of figuring out -- but there's plenty of help available in various places online. It doesn't have the graphics that the newer games have, but it's not low-quality either. And it will run on a graphics card that doesn't require water cooling.

This is a great and easy to understand transport tycoon like game. The systems are really great in their depth of information, customisation and ease to duplicate your routes and vehicles. The graphics and sound will make you feel right there behind the wheel. There are campaigns to follow or you can custom map any size or year with some modifiers and mod friendly support to have the ultimate experience you desire. This is a must play for any transport tycoon enthusiast. 10/10
