Ha ha ha, YES!" about it. store.steampowered.com/app/2464280/...
unlabelledView post →Saw someone ask if they "fixed" saving in Tormented Souls 2, because on harder difficulties the game uses a limited resource to save like how ink ribbons in the original Resident Evil worked, and y'know, a little bit of friction and limitation isn't a design flaw to be removed, it's intentional.
unlabelledView post →I think the big surprise with my GOTY list is gonna be just how high I rate Tormented Souls 2, a game that seemingly nobody else I knew has had a lick of interest in, but I had such an incredible time with because it tickled my oldschool survival horror sicko sensibilities so very well.
unlabelledView post →This game ruined ALL indie and even some AA/AAA survival horror games for me. Absolutely wipes the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ floor with Them and Us, Signalis, Crow Country, Alisa, Fobia, Daymare, Etc. Enjoyed this WAY more than Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos. CAPCOM and KONAMI need to take ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ notes. Devs COOKED. Shout out the dev team and Chilean government for funding this masterclass of old school survival horror with modern polish.

It's extremely oldschool Resident Evil vibes, fixed camera angles and all!

It's currently 90% off for the next 2 weeks. Absurdly good survival horror gem, honestly worth it at full price. store.steampowered.com/app/1367590/...
unlabelledView post →And now Tormented Souls 2 (great old-school survival horror game) is the latest to add a remixed New Game Plus mode with extra enemies and new stuff. This is a trend I desperately want to see continue. Any game that could possibly be improved by a remixed second loop should have one.

unlabelledView post →Tormented Souls 2 is a step up from its predecessor in every way for me. Tormented Souls 1 was a love letter from passionate fans of the survival horror genre. This game takes that love and refines it. As a sequel, Tormented Souls 2 doesn't change the formula that is in no need of fixing. It takes what the already good first game did—namely, the atmosphere, the feeling of isolation, and the fun loop of a survival horror game—and makes it even better. The gameplay feels smoother than ever, dare…

unlabelledView post →Playing more Tormented Souls 2 today was fun, I love this game.
unlabelledView post →Edit: I ended up coming back to the game and finishing it (see initial review below), and I can't say it was worth it. While some comments related to my initial review are correct (if you fight wraiths one by one with the crowbar in the cemetery, that area is bearable), the game is plagued by many larger issues. The game suffers from inconsistent level design to the point where it seems you're playing two different games. The fun areas are reminiscent of classic Resident Evil games, whereas…

unlabelledView post →5. Tormented Souls 2 - 23rd October The first game was a fantastic oldschool Survival Horror experience, and from playing the demo of the sequel, this is shaping up to being just as good. Very, very eagerly anticipating this one, and I'd implore everyone to check the demo out right now!
unlabelledView post →Updated review: I haven't had time to replay through the game since it's recent patches. If they FINALLY fixed all the bugs and glitches after 6 months, then consider this a recommend. I still prefer the first game by a lot. The only improvements in this sequel, in my opinion, are the visuals. The lighting and atmosphere is among the best in any classic survival horror game. I just wish they at least tried to do more with the plot. The first game has you waking up completely naked in a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And I don't think I'm all that cynical when it comes to The Game Awards, it's okay, even if Tormented Souls 2 was criminally snubbed. And quite honestly? There's plenty of great AAA games worth celebrating, and I'm glad of it, I just think my voice is suited to yelling about those indie niches.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game have a game breaking bug right now, one of the key items will disappear (school fuse) and prevent you to proceed with the game, it's almost at the end game, and the only way is to start a new game or load an old save before you attempted the puzzle. Unfortunately I played on assist mode and the game auto saves. So I don't have a backup save and is not all that interested in starting over. Fair warning.

This is what survival horror games should copy, Having played recently SH F, I can say I beat that game without being scared, but here I'm walking every corner slowly, fearing for something, even though places I already cleared up and I'm just at the beginning of the game. Update: I just beat the game, it was amazing! I hope many people play the game so we can get a Tormented Souls 3 in the future

unlabelledView post →The game was buggy. glitch out of bounds a few time in the Cemetery area, couldn't unlock the Hand Cannon weapon chest because it was bugged out. It's an optional item so not that big of a deal, but would have still been nice to have. The most frustrating part is that unlike most Resident Evil style games they give you some ammo and healing items right before a boss fight. just enough so you can fight the boss. This game doesn't, so during your first play though since you don't know when you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I would like to start this review by saying that I absolutely love this game and it's predecessor. I enjoy the story, I love the difficulty of the puzzles, and the combat is difficult but not impossible. The single problem I have with the game is a bug. The first time I played the game 6 months ago I playing it for a few hours and at one point I went without a save item for almost an hour and a half so when I got one I thought "I should probably save". The problem is that when I tried…

unlabelledView post →Tormented Souls II improves on the original game in literally every way imaginable. One of truly the best horror experiences Ive played regardless of A, AA or AAA. Lets talk pros and cons. Pros: Graphics: The first game was already beautiful, with the models being a little lackluster compared to everything else. They majorly improved it in this game. The character models look top tier, highly detailed and blend in better with the enviornments instead of sticking out like a sore thumb. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could recommend this game - after loving Tormented Souls 1 I was very excited for this, but it's taken 2 steps back for every step forward. The pacing of save rooms is horrendous, there were 2 separate times where I had to play over 2 hours before I could save again. I'm used to playing survival horror as it's my favourite genre, but this game makes it impossible to play for short amounts of time without throwing away tons of progress. If you want to play a 40 minute session, it's not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tormented Souls 2 is a fixed camera survival horror game with modern graphics. In this game you explore creepy locations such as a nun's convent, a mall, a butcher shop, underground sewers, a cemetary, a church, and an underground laboratory. The gameplay involves exploring, solving puzzles, and shooting enemies with various found weapons. The game world is absolutely massive for this genre, and most likely it will take you 12-15 hours to complete your first playthrough, if not longer. + The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, solid survival horror. Worth your time. (Has some issues.) + Beautiful game. Very detailed environments. + Huge. Several major areas. Lots of negative space. Like, you can find a huge office with multiple desks with individualized clutter, different wall decorations around, lamps, windows, bulletin boards etc., and there is absolutely nothing of game value in the room. Believable environments that feel like places instead of "game zones". + Great tension building. + Good use of NPC…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Four years ago Tormented Souls became quite a pleasant surprise for me. I still maintain that if it were to be released during the heyday of classic survival horror, it would’ve been mostly forgotten by now, but in the current period of this genre revival the game was among the best independently released titles. A lot of it was by the books survival horror, the story was nonsense and the combat wasn’t great (but it wasn’t terrible either), but it clearly showed the developers understanding of…

unlabelledView post →This is where Tormented Souls 2 really succeeds, because while the original game was set in a single location akin to the first Resident Evil, the sequel is set in a town and has several distinct locations linked by a small hub area, and the art design went absolutely hog wild on these areas!
unlabelledView post →I love the game but I can't recommend it in its current state. The developers explicitly state that controllers are 100% supported yet I can't get a single one to work. Not my xbox series x controller or my playstation 5 controller. I've also run into a few bugs that crash the game. The latest one being in the graveyard, I saw a little opening so I walked in only to be unable to get out, I believe I fell beneath the map, the game crashed while I was running around trying to glitch my way back…

unlabelledView post →I'll chime in early with a review to boost this game. The first one was sleeper hit and a refreshing take on the survival horror, yet it still kept the charm of old fixed camera horror games. In my humble opinion, those fixed camera angles add to the atmosphere and the first Tormented Souls did this quite well. Now that we finally have the sequel, does it do the first one justice? Yes, it does. It doesn't take long for Caroline to experience horror yet again and the camera angles and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It absolutely pains me to do this as I was very excited for this game, but I feel I must put up a temporary negative review, as a warning for those interested. I feel this game was not quite ready to get out of the oven just yet... It simply has too many technical issues and lacks polish. Many graphical settings such as Upscaling and HDR are simply not functional, the performance is not terrible by any means but far from great either, the character models look honestly worse than the original…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is definitely a good game, but how much you’ll enjoy it really depends on whether you’re looking for a brain-teaser experience or not. Gameplay-wise, it’s a classic, old-school survival horror. The camera and controls are reminiscent of the older Silent Hill games, though combat is slightly improved thanks to the addition of a dodge mechanic and both enemy and boss designs feel more refined overall. That said, the combat system is still quite simple and, while a step up from its…
