Titan Souls is a soulslike with an interesting and unique gimmick. Your only weapon in the game is a bow with a single arrow. If you shoot the arrow and you miss your shot, you have to recall it to get another shot. To balance this, almost every boss in the entire game dies in just one shot. However, so do you. This makes for an interesting experience, as most bosses have a very specific weak spot that needs to be revealed first, before you can attack it. This makes every boss a unique puzzle…

The premise for the game is clear and interesting in execution; you are just as fragile as the boss, and you only have a single arrow. As such, every encounter is a puzzle in which you search for the weakness of the boss and the right opportunity to kill it instantly. It's pure gameplay and unique in its own way. The big issue is the checkpoint system, and that alone made me stop playing. Instead of having an option to immediately retry a boss, you are sent back to a checkpoint and are…

This is the only review you will need for this game 1. controller is a must, if you don't have one just DO NOT buy this game, keyboard and mouse is literally unplayable 2. to run fast, long press the dash button, will help you a ton especially in stairs 3. each boss has a unique way of killing him, you could do it in 10 seconds or in a few whole minutes of dodging, just get the gist of the boss and you'll kill it quite fast, not too hard, not for dopamine addicts definitely 4. worth buying…

Really wanted to like this game but after playing for about an hour and beating 7 bosses I've found myself more frustrated than anything. First of all game recommends controller but does not support my PlayStation 5 controller, steam usually is able to translate the inputs for games without support but for whatever reason this game was the exception and I was forced to play on mouse and keyboard. Secondly, I find the whole concept of "one shot to kill the boss" more frustrating than anything…

Literally spent more time walking to the bosses after each respawn than actually enjoying the fights. Out of my 26 minutes, around 20 of them were spent pointlessly walking through the locations i've already seen before, losing interest in the whole game. Way to go, caught my interest just to lose it immediately by wasting my time for nothing. Regret buying it even with a discount, if i wanted to waste my time without anything to enjoy i'd rather stare at a wall for free. Because that's exactly…

It has a good concept and I like the boss designs, but the controls feel sluggish which kills it for me. Oh and don't remind me about the stairs; I have no idea you are not allowed to roll up the stairs, it frustratingly slows down the game.

The last game I finished was a fun little indie game called Titan Souls. Nice little game where you have to fight a bunch of bosses, but the bosses are more like little puzzles because you have to figure out where their weak spot is and how to hit it.

I'd love to reccomend Titan Souls, I really do, the single recalling arrow gimmick is a great concept and is fun at times, the designs are awesome, the boss fights are creative, but... Many gameplay aspects are horribly executed and make it a frustrating, unfair experience rather than hard, unlike many other souls-likes. First of all, the control scheme can't be changed in any non-external way, and it's annoying especially when paired with the fact that default control are arrow keys,…

Cool concept horrible execution. The exploration is pointless. The fights boil down to dodge dodge dodge and hope you can get a split second shot off while doing it. You can't roll upstairs in a game that has no enemies outside so it makes the slog from save point to fight even longer. The screen shake is at a level that is nauseating and there is no way to turn it down or off. I also had to find a fix before even playing because the game wasn't centered on screen. Not even worth the $1.50 on…

A minimalist boss-rush game where both you and every boss die in a single hit, armed only with a single bow and arrow. The tension during each encounter is incredible, and landing that one perfect shot after dying twenty times feels amazing. However, having to constantly run back to the boss arena after every quick death gets tedious pretty fast. High frustration, but high reward for patient players.

This game commits the cardinal sin of gaming. It is boring. There's more running back than fighting the bosses. On top of that, the bosses are boring to fight because the game's controls feel incredibly stiff. There's an incredible amount of baffling and worthless exploration, too. My recommendation is skip.

This game needs a "meh" rating. There isn't really any combat in this game so much as it is just a gimmick. Either you die in one hit or the boss does. Once you understand the gimmick of each fight, it's a matter of navigating the fight by mere inches and milliseconds for your microscopic window of opportunity. When you die, you get sent back to the check point, which is often a fair bit away from the boss arena. Since the fights only take 10 seconds per try, you spend more time on a…

Despite the thumbs down, it is not terrible at all. It ranges from a 4 to a 6 out of 10 for me personally. It has gorgeous art, and music, alongside a cool world reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus. However, the bosses mostly range from frustrating to boring and it all comes down to the fact that they take one hit to kill. Most involve beating your head against the wall until you manage to make that one perfectly timed, pixel perfect shot and then its dead. It often feels empty rather than…

Titan Souls is "Dark Souls" meets "Shadow of the Colossus", but you probably already heard. Everyone keeps bringing up the similarity but fail to accentuate that this game does its own thing! Made by a British indie team of just 2 people, this simple, small and short game proves to be sweaty, deep and not as simple as it seems. The only Souls-like thing about it are the presence of bosses and the annoying backtracking after every death. The only Colossus-like things about it are the…

Got it for like 1€. Got all achievements. The Bad Story not really explained. PC controls are abysmal. You can't change the controls. You can't properly aim the bow like on controller. Some bosses are really frustrating. Like requiring more luck than skill. This goes especially for the endboss. I had an idea on what the "weakspot" of the endboss could be, but just couldn't believe that the creators would do this. The game is not specifically bad, it is just disgustingly overpriced. The bosses that are in the game are quite and it is not repetetive among them, but by far the main issue is unfortunately the gimmick of the game. One arrow is enough when every fight demands absolute focus Titan Souls is a boss rush action game built around a brutal but elegant idea: I die in one hit, and so do the bosses if I can find the right opening. What stood out most to me was how much tension that creates with so little. Each encounter feels like a mix of reflexes, observation, and puzzle solving, and the minimalist world gives the whole experience a lonely, memorable tone. If you want a great example in visual storytelling, this is a game you should study. The lore is spread throughout the world, and tells a grand tale of divinity, power, failure, and the quest for Truth. Unfortunately, the gameplay loop is not as grand. A good idea stained by too much pointless walking and annoying boss runbacks This is a boss rush where both you and the bosses (of which there are 19) have 1 HP, which makes this more like a puzzle game. Observe the bosses moveset, and figure out their gimmick/weakness/opening to one shot them. (btw: you don't have i-frames with dodge rolls) BUT, the game opens up too much in the 2nd area. The game is boss fights, and walking around between bosses. The walk between bosses is not fun, just a tedious walk. The boss themselves are not great. You have 1 hp, they have 1 hp, and you have a bow with a single arrow you have to retrieve. It's more like mini puzzles to understand how you are supposed to damage the boss, then a ton of luck to execute the plan, with a touch of skill. Any time you die, you have to take a walk back, which makes the game even more tedious. A well made game,…

Game consists solely of boss fights, and those aren't even fun. It's a "run around until you get a hit on the boss and hope you don't die in the meantime" simulator. Even with a gamepad, controls are janky and the sprint/roll system isn't responsive enough to facilitate it being used as it is. Definitely not worth the asking price of almost NZ$22

The different boss mechanics can be quite punishing (its a difficult game) but making the player run back and forth every time you die is just the ultimate time wasting mechanic. Its definitely unique, but personally I would rather play other games where you can interact more with the boss, compared to spending 5mins to try and hit a small hitbox, dying, then spending another 30s running back to the boss again. It gets extremely annoying after awhile, wouldn't recommend this.

The game has some great boss battles, but I've never played a game with such a terrible attack system. The game is already difficult, and on top of that, to attack you have to hold down the attack button and use the arrow keys to control the direction of the attack (forward, backward, left, right, and diagonally). As if that weren't enough, after each attack you have to recall your arrow while standing still. The developers' terrible decisions have ruined a game with potential.
