The Usual Suspects
Held in an L.A. interrogation room, Verbal Kint attempts to convince the feds that a mythic crime lord, Keyser Soze, not only exists, but was also responsible for drawing him and his four partners into a multi-million dollar heist that ended with an explosion in San Pedro harbor – leaving few survivors. Verbal lures his interrogators with an incredible story of the crime lord's almost supernatural prowess. From TMDB

The plot is basically the main villain saying “haha, I did monstrous shit and you’ll never bring me to justice!” Funny, that.

Unfortunately, much like CHINATOWN it's another film tainted by heinous revelations about the people that made it. -__-
unlabelledView post →Anyway, I see the Usual Suspects are absolutely dead-set on hating the new SUPERGIRL movie because, you know, "g-g-g-girls," so we're going to have a LAST JEDI situation where it's going to be difficult to offer up *actual* criticism without being conflated with the moronic ranting.

unlabelledView post →In 1994, I was 25 years old, working publicity for The Usual Suspects at the Cannes Film Festival. Through a screw up in scheduling, I had lunch on the beach with John Boorman. Just me and him. And I got to hear all about the making of Excalibur. #BestHollywoodDays

unlabelledView post →I understand trying to shuffle off THE USUAL SUSPECTS to the side given Singer and Spacey (I’m not counting on any 30th anniversary celebrations), but I’m rewatching it and it’s a stone cold classic. Everything clicks here. It’s a movie where even Stephen Baldwin gives a memorable performance.
unlabelledView post →There's a magnificent book called Round Up The Usual Suspects about the making of the film which quotes Veidt saying to a journalist that he will use all of his considerable acting talent to make sure everyone hates the Nazis just as much as he does.

unlabelledView post →Especially impressive considering the last movie was at the center of another manufactured moral crisis by The Usual Suspects. The game features a hip, cool, disabled Catholic priest who hates Mussolini and loves jazz and you did not hear a peep about it.
unlabelledView post →The Usual Suspects. Packed art house theater on opening weekend. We didn’t know what to expect but there was tons of buzz about the film. When it ended there was a long moment of stunned silence and then (not even gradually) a standing ovation. Best collective experience with total strangers
unlabelledView post →It's impossible for me to say exactly what I mean, without spoiling the movie, but imagine a review of "The Usual Suspects" that says, "An okay crime caper, but mediocre acting... for example, Kevin Spacey forgets he's supposed to limp in the last scene."
unlabelledView post →Linear television was how I ended up watching The Usual Suspects starting about 60% of the way through. I do not recommend this method for watching that movie.
unlabelledView post →Happy birthday to Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro! Always interesting to watch. He kicked around for awhile before The Usual Suspects (1995) so it’s a neat surprise when he shows up in a Bond film or on Miami Vice. #filmsky

unlabelledView post →Edy Finneran in THE USUAL SUSPECTS is one of the most tragic film characters I can think of. She loved Dean Keaton, a man who was not only morally reprehensible but didn’t love her back in the same way. Her reward for working her so hard to rehabilitate Keaton’s sorry ass? A bullet to the head.

For me, it was the day where my brother and I went to a theater, and what we wanted to see was sold out, so we just randomly picked the next movie available on a Friday movie, something we'd never heard of called The Usual Suspects.
