positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is really overlooked, but great RPG! i am blown away from how amazing the world, the lore, and the story is. I am quite frankly astonished that more people haven't heard of it. it really do deserve more hype. Yes it's a little buggy, but even with that the RPG elements shines through! and the atmosphere is amazing! The game is a little bit janky, but full of heart. so get the game! it goes on sale all the time!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →People expect that every game like this should be as good as ; - Witcher 3 - Mass Effect 2 - Uncharted 2 For the sake of comparison....the games I mentioned are like a Michelin star gourmet meal. And this game here is like a fat juicy burger with fries and a can of Coke. Not the best in the world....but still very juicy and delicious if you're not an elite customer i guess. It took me 36 hours to finish and sometime in the future I'm going to replay it for the sake of seeing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been slogging through this game. I don't mean I hate it, oh no. But it's not as good as I'd hoped. It is, however, better than I expected. So in your thumbs-down vs. thumbs-up gradient, it's in the blue. It's not pegged the thumbs-upometer, though. I put in nearly 20 hours at this point and held off writing until I got here, which is unlike me. And what's the rush this time, anyway? This is a seven-year-old game, I'm not going to be influencing many sales at this point. So,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Technomancer certainly has it's charm but this Mars based RPG is the definition of a mixed bag. Hobbled by an unfinished and flat lighting model, an horrendous amount of back tracking and respawning enemies, this alone is enough to spoil the user experience. Assuming you can persevere through this proverbial mud you'll find good environmental art, quality writing, a competent story and companion system all supported by a challenging combat system at higher difficultly levels. Weighing…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have a decent multi-core cpu the game will simply not launch. Do not buy unless you have an older cpu/PC
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Amazing game." When I started playing, I couldn't understand why the reviews were average. After all, compared to Mars: War Logs, they made progress. The graphics have become much better, the maps are bigger, the RPG system has also improved, the dialogues are good, the world has quite realistic oddities, the rejection of mutants, the army's attempts to become a single force, the rebels, etc. But the more I played, the more I understood the problem with the average ratings. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Technomancer is a deeply flawed and janky AA game which despite it all was quite charming! First and foremost gamers NEED to understand that "Spiders" are double-A developers! They are NOT indie or AAA, that is a very important distinction . Technomancer is both a stand-alone game & sequel to "Mars: War Logs (2013)". While it is an incredible upgrade, it still feels like they botched the landing... While I praise the ambition & vision of the developers, I can't in good conscience recommend…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Technomancer is a hard game to recommend. Overall I like it and have quite a soft spot for it, but boy is it something that is very much greater than the sum of it’s parts, and you must have a high tolerance for jank. This follows the pattern for a lot of other Spiders games that I have played, such as Of Orcs and Men, Bound by Flame and Mars War Logs, ambitious with interesting writing, but janky with a low budget. Overall it’s an action RPG on a post apocalypse Mars, cut off from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BOYCOTT NACON, JUSTICE FOR SPIDERS. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! While I love this game, I cannot in good conscience advocate for money going to Nacon, Spiders' erstwhile owners. As of right now, all proceeds from Spiders' games go directly to Nacon, a parasitical publisher who destroys their studios with zero regard for their developers and creations. This applies to titles published under Focus, from Faery through GreedFall. Per Spiders Studio and the STJV: Workers at the studio already…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huh, this game won't play on any rig with more than 4 cores. Never thought I'd need to check a game page for maximum system requirements but here I am with a digital paperweight.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →don't buy this if your pc runs Win 11 and has more than 8 cores this game won't run on my i7 12th gen processor buyer be aware! is there a fix? yes, if you are willing to go into bios and reduce cores used to 8 no game should ever require that you change your pc bios to reduce cores used i wish i could play this game on pc, its looked really fun when my son played on the xbox. maybe i'll try it on the xbox since it doesn't work on my pc.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Technomancer is a bit hard to categorize for me on Steam... because it starts well, the graphics are alright and there are some area which is really good looking. The game offers a decent challenge at the beginning, even on normal difficulty. The RPG elements, the battle system, party management and the story is also interesting in the beginning and the game has quite a long story mode, you can play it through in 30 hours if you only focus on the main missions. Technomancer reminded me of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If u played Mars : War Logs this is the sequel to that game It's a decent game and the combat is much much better in this game 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is missing one thing from being a really great game, and that's gameplay. Graphics, story, acting, etc. are all pretty darn good. The combat is what's lacking. It's not broken or anything, it's just not implemented very well and becomes boring. I'd give it a neutral if I could.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stuck at infinite loading screen on start-up. Some bug regarding processor cores. Not looking to modify anything just to play a game, We want them plug and play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One Piece. I will not say more, lol. Then discovered love for game ffs with The Technomancer. Although *really* got into writing fanfics when I wrote my Cyberpunk2077 Kerry/V fic. Biggest thing I've ever done.
unlabelledView post →It’s a great game, honestly a solid 7.5/10, but it nosedives to a 6/10 purely because of the absurd, soul-crushing amount of backtracking. You go to a place, do a quest, come back... but wait! Plot twist, you have to go right back to the same place because now the second part of the quest magically unlocked. And then? Back again. And again. And again. I've played games with backtracking before, but this? Hell. I’m not even exaggerating when I say this level of backtracking should be…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has a soul but way too clunky Since studio Spiders is gone, you'd better try their Greedfall and Steelrising than Technomancer or Mars
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The soundtrack here is absolutely phenomenal, easily one of the best aspects of this game. The music perfectly captures the desolate, dystopian atmosphere of Mars and elevates every moment, from exploration to combat. The story and characters are actually good, and they get progressively better and deeper with each chapter. What starts as a somewhat straightforward narrative evolves into something genuinely engaging with meaningful choices. The companion quests are not just throwaway side…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely awesome. It has a ton of lore and doing side missions is actually enjoyable as you discoverer even more stories. Uh and also you can do Snoo Snoo ;) Unfortunately the world map creates the illusion the game world will be huge. But actually there are not too many different locations. Doing missions will often times route you through maps you have visited a few times already. But also this makes the world feel more connected as you do not visit a city once and never…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →disappointingly, this game would not run on my new laptop with 12 cores running windows 11 and 32gb ram so i cant comment on game play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game full of potential successes. Unfortunately it lacks atmosphere and features a few annoying elements. Still it is worth a try because of all the options and the changing storylines it offers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game after playing Greedfall - expecting it to be a lesser older creation. Except it was so much more than that. You can see a lot of the gameplay elements (e.g the hilarious 1st boss that is going to kill you because you are trash XD) that you see in Greedfall. The story is great, the npcs are awesome and the voice acting is fantastic. Plenty of dialogue + cutscenes with engaging dialogue that seamlessly allows you to engage with the characters and the world. The combat is also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game simply won't load past the first two splash screens if it dose not crash on the first splash screen. Unplayable! I'm going to keep it in my library on the off chance they fix the problem as I own it on playstation and it's one of my fav games. it's just sad the PC version is unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does not run. Crashes immediately on launch, or gets stuck forever at the initial loading screen. Application error from SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Technomancer\Engine.dll. Apparently it doesn't like newer processors.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Technomancer is a decidedly average RPG, but a masterclass in storytelling and worldbuilding I think a lot of the negativity surrounding this game comes from how it presents itself to a newcomer. To put it simply, The Technomancer is a narrative-driven RPG that is trying to be an ARPG. The gameplay is... alright. If you go into this expecting polished, AAA game-level gameplay, you are setting yourself up to fail, though it's satisfying enough once you get used to it, especially after a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable. I get the Focus Home Interactive, and the Spider splash-screens, then an infinite 'loading' screen ... Refund requested.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game doesn't run at all on my main system due to some issue with multi core CPUs so I installed it on my Steam Deck which did run but not very well, it's probably the best RPG you can get for 2 dollars but don't mistake that for high praise
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My sanity just cant take it anymore. Running bazillion times from one corner of map to another, fighting same clusters of enemies over and over and over and over again on 5 small maps.. Aaargh..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an old game that will not work on any system that has more than 8 cores/threads. You have been warned. There are work arounds. Just a shame that some little patch or something couldn't be done to make it a viable as an off the shelf purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is your typical RPG type of game, so if you are only into FPS and not interested in stories, this game ain't for you. The game takes its time in enveloping you in a good story line. In the beginning it is easy, but it gets harder and you must develop strategies to survive. I simply love this type of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not an easy question to answer with Technomancer. Would I recommend it? Overall, it was a pleasant experience so I would say yes but there are some issues that could hinder some folks' enjoyment of the game. The combat is relatively simple, repetitive and there is a wild amount of backtracking expected of you, provided you're looking to complete most of the quests, both main and side stories. With that said, I did enjoy the overall story here. It was interesting enough to keep me going…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy this game if you have a processor with more than 8 cores... It won't work, I just learned this the hard way... Other than that the game is nothing like its trailers and the gameplay forces you to give yourself a soft lobotomy of some sort. - The combat system requires you to play with a controller if you want to play it for more than 20 hours. - There is no point in playing anything other than the pistol and dagger. and yet you will be rewarded with gear for other choices pretty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wrote a review for this already, and I'm not sure why it disappeared, but I love this game. It's weird and refreshing though imperfect. The companions and setting are very interesting. It's got some similar flaws to Dragon Age 2 in that the zones are linear/repetitive and the combat is similarly repetitive. But it is satisfying. It's a weird one but worth playing if you are looking for a companion focused RPG to play. Spiders tries a lot of new things with their games, but keep that older…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one janky game, with awful combat (I put it on 'easy' - couldn't stand it) and a lot of running around open environments that lack atmosphere. That said it is an intriguing sci-fi story, with freedom fighters (terrorists?), upgrades, crafting and some decision making (do you arrest this person? let this person go? or kill this person?). Don't be deceived by the screenshots - the graphics aren't that good with facial animations limited to the mouth when characters speak and the trailer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Technomancer is both a sequel and a story that happens partly at the same time as Mars: War Logs, an older game from Spiders. I think it's fitting to base review largely around the comparison. Dialogues and writing are more polished, though still somewhat awkward in places. Combat is improved, though with some deficiencies still. To give a few examples - most of the last third of the game is spent fighting the type of enemy that is immune to shocked effect that is bread and butter of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great janky AA game. cult classic. almost gothic level. Recommended to all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The final class we have to discuss for the base game is the Technomancer! They mix their magic with the technology of the Ancients that they've scavenged to create Gadgets, which they hand out to their team, along with their Clockwork, a personal bodyguard! #indiettrpg #TOGWITO #TTRPG #gamedev
unlabelledView post →Let's start by saying that this is a 2016 game that doesn't launch on modern hardware without a workaround, not a good start. So, I'm in my journay of playing all games from Spiders by release date and, for the first time, I had to drop one. Everything sucked so bad in the first 2 hours of the game that I just couldn't keep going. Visually this game is pretty bad for 2016 standards, honestly Spiders' games never had up-to-date graphics from a technical standpoint, but are at least visually…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So i just completed this game and... It aged. Not terribly, not gracefully, it just feels dated. Game lets us gently create our character (Hairstyles/face/scars). If i had to compare it to other games then i would say that its something between Baldur's gate, Star wars "kotor" and Elex/Gothic, as combat is real time, but feels somewhat turn based, and we have option to slow/stop time to select skills. Single target is alright, multi target is a mess, and big enemies are a nightmare due to how…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed it. The setting is beautiful, the storyline is interesting and engaging, and it's actually a fun game! Contrary to other reviews, it does work on multiprocessors (only had one crash in all). Yes, some parts are tedious and you end up running like an idiot from A to B encountering the exact same bunch of enemies (looking at you, Underworks), and yes, the combat is occasionally completely haphazard and random, which makes it frustrating. But all in all, it's a good game, and if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately the game does not seem to run well on multi-core systems. I'm using an i5 13600k and I cant make it past the into/load screen. It's a shame I love slavjank.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's jank. But really charming. But also jank. If you like b-movies, you're probably going to like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →could NOT play it, instant crash on starting new game. apparently this happens to anyone with pc with more than 8 cores. ridiculous problem, instant refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it took me 69 hours to beat this underrated masterpiece a 100% and i loved every second of it! 10/10 made me a spiders fan! BOYCOTT NACON, JUSTICE FOR SPIDERS. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most, if not THE most underrated RPG out there. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews this game gets. It's been a long time since a game managed to make me think about it day and night, and kept me glued to my screen for days at a time. The combat is fine and even satisfying, despite what many others will tell you. However, this game's forte is definitely its worldbuilding, and its characters. This game has a completely addicting storyline where meaningful choices…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →runs very well on steamdeck. hard game to review because I was thoroughly hooked for the first 20 hours, then dreaded the rest. unique story, world, plot. cool aesthetic. slightly cringe but varied companions, with romance options. bad combat, but was fun for a hour at the start when you can't get away with just spamming attack. feels like the first draft of a good game, that didn't get the time in the oven that it deserved. I wonder if the devs actually play tested it at all lol - that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, 8/10 No its not the best, no its not perfect but it's a good game with a decent story. Combat mechanics may take some time to smooth out but once you get your groove you can deal with most things. I played through 3 times, last run on Extreme, it was a bit tough but nothing as hard as dark souls and no where near as frustrating lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐⭐ Bad The Technomancer feels like it was forged with passion, ambition, and then abandoned halfway through a tutorial on how to make games fun. The world sounds cool "Mars", magic, & tech, but playing it is like watching someone read a sci-fi novel aloud while tripping over their own combat system. The fighting has the elegance of two shopping carts colliding, companions exist mostly to block doorways, and your choices feel impactful right up until the game politely ignores them. The…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar to the council, The Technomancer is a janky game I really love and I think it's very underrated. If you can put up with some jank, you will find a very beautifully crafted story here store.steampowered.com/app/338390/T...
unlabelledView post →The Technomancer, developed by Spiders and published by Focus Entertainment, is a sprawling action RPG set on the harsh, unforgiving surface of Mars in a dystopian future. It ambitiously combines sci-fi storytelling, complex role-playing mechanics, and third-person combat, all wrapped in an atmospheric and richly detailed world. While the game may not be flawless, it delivers a unique experience that stands out within the genre, particularly for players interested in narrative-driven…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beware! This game killed, it caused several crashes, 1 to blue screen. A day after I uninstalling my aging motherboard died. Lots of running around in boring maze like zones. Clunky and buggy. No as fun and interesting as Bound by Flame and Mars Logs. Combat on normal was also a frustrating experience since dodging is a hit or miss, I would have changed to easy for a better flow and less need to engage with the obnoxious healing and looting system but whenever I quit this game, it causes…
