positive · AI labelView post →I reviewed Trần Anh Hùng's THE TASTE OF THINGS, the most soothingly beautiful movie about food I've seen in over a decade, or maybe ever. Without a hint of irony, it's a beautiful pastoral vision and a celebration of life, sex, eating, and cooking. www.patreon.com/posts/105133...
positive · AI labelView post →I really liked THE TASTE OF THINGS, but if you asked any American moviegoer who had never seen a French movie in their lives to imagine what a "critically-acclaimed French movie" would be like, it would be THAT MOVIE EXACTLY.
positive · AI labelView post →The Taste of Things is a beautiful, sort of languid and contemplative movie. It’s on Kanopy, if your library has that.
positive · AI labelView post →THE TASTE OF THINGS - directed by Trần Anh Hùng Possibly the most romantic film I will ever see in my entire life; I felt changed afterwards. Food and love are so deeply intertwined, and everything is shot with tremendous tenderness and care.
positive · AI labelView post →O hej, za desetak minuta na HRT3 The Taste of Things oliti Okus ljubavi! Dosta dobar film, priča tako, ali predivno snimljen, osvjetljenje za prste polizat, a bogme i hrana koje je puno i sve skupa izgleda skroz zamamno. A nakon toga Boiling Point! Stevo Graham, najbolji glumac današnjice i šire 😜
positive · AI labelView post →hard to imagine any 2023 movie being more specifically geared to my interests than Trần Anh Hùng's The Taste of Things, which is 2.5 hours of obsessive gastronomes cooking delicious french food and quietly appreciating each others' skills.
positive · AI labelView post →🦖 TYRANNOSAURUS RECS! 🦖 Our first Cinema Worms mini-episode where I discuss & recommend a beloved film from years past—spend 5 minutes with me while I gush (spoiler-free) over The Taste of Things!
positive · AI labelView post →“More than simply a film about food, The Taste of Things is a reflection on artists, and the ways in which they communicate through their work, and the peculiar pleasures and anxieties that brings.” Catherine Wheatley reviews The Taste of Things, on MUBI UK. www.bfi.org.uk/sight-and-so...

I watched a third movie last night - THE TASTE OF THINGS, still 5 stars - but rewatches don't register when I sort by "when rated" on Letterboxd. If I'm doing something wrong, let me know. Maybe I can fix it. #dumbatsocialmedia
positive · AI labelView post →My 224 followers who are Ottawa Senators fans need to hear from me that the 2023 French movie "The Taste of Things" opens with one of the most incredible and satisfying sequences of cooking in cinema history. Go Sens go.
positive · AI labelView post →I just finished The Taste of Things. It might be my favorite movie I’ve seen in 2024.
positive · AI labelView post →THE TASTE OF THINGS: The best movie to see on Valentine's Day whether going with a date or, just as fittingly, the boys who love movies about food, it's truly something special. Seattle folks, see it starting today as part of its wide release 📽️ My review: bit.ly/48iqlj5
positive · AI labelView post →A really beautiful movie about the power of close, respectful, patient attention (in food and love) (English title: THE TASTE OF THINGS)
positive · AI labelView post →We received a DVD of the charming film, The Taste of Things, for Xmas, thanks to @jollyhobos.bsky.social for the recommendation. Delighted to discover there is a QR code for the recipes in the film - a really nice touch.
positive · AI labelView post →For me, Drive My Car is the best of the decade so far. Beautiful film, virtually perfect, one of my all-time favorites. Other top contenders are Riders of Justice, The Taste of Things, Bones and All, Dune Part 2, Pig, Anora, Sinners, and Sing Sing. OBAA is in fact extraordinary though.
positive · AI labelView post →Today I watched THE TASTE OF THINGS and it was divine. People say we need new models of masculinity and I would submit this film. A bunch of best friends hanging out, talking about how good food is, telling Juliette Binoche that she is perfect, supporting each other, just being bros.
positive · AI labelView post →Watching The Taste of Things (2023) and MAINLY it’s a slow-burn historical French romance movie about two people who have worked together for decades, but I’m about a half hour in and it’s been 90% sumptuously-shot scenes of very skilled people cooking and I just love this kind of thing
positive · AI labelView post →Today's first movie is The Taste of Things (2023) 🍿
neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched The Taste of Things for the third time (Hulu). I love this movie. I see something new every time. If you watch it, and like it, would you let me know what you see in it? It’s the kind of movie I want to keep talking about and catch all its nuances. m.imdb.com/title/tt1976...
positive · AI labelView post →Gene Siskel liked to ask, ‘Is this film more interesting than a documentary of the same actors having lunch?’ After watching The Taste of Things, I might tweak the question to whether a film is more interesting than a documentary of the same actors making lunch? #TheTasteofThings #MovieReview #Drama #Film https://ninetypercentcrapmoviereviews.wordpress.com/2024/04/19/the-taste-of-things/
positive · AI labelView post →The Taste of Things is the most quietly romantic movie I've seen in a long time. It also has the best use of a reference to Ingres' "La Grande Odalisque" and specific use of Rembrandt lighting that I've seen from anything I can currently remember.
positive · AI labelView post →... Which means that "The Zone of Interest" easily wins the vote for Best Non-English Film, with "The Taste of Things" runner-up. And that's it for the 2023 Boston Society of Film Critics awards. Thanks for following along!
neutral · AI labelView post →If you're in need of a Bank Holiday film, iPlayer's got a nice selection, including: Rye Lane (fun British rom-com, set in Peckham), Crazy Rich Asians (luxury comedy with a beautiful cast), The Taste of Things (historical food drama, stars Juliette Binoche) and How to Marry a Millionaire.

Moving, lovely, mouthwatering! And Juliette Binoche, star of my favourite film, a great actor & still beautiful at the age of 59.
positive · AI labelView post →Oh my word, the film, The Taste of Things - BBCIplayer - is utterly divine. The cooking! #France in all its glory.
positive · AI labelView post →Hello Internet. The Taste of Things (2023) is a very good movie in which the majority of the screen time is given over to silently (occasionally, huffingly) preparing amazing french food in a beautiful kitchen. Two thumbs up. 👍👍
positive · AI labelView post →Baked Alaska!! It is fun, not something one makes often and it is delicous. Also watch The Taste of Things (2023) or Chocolat (2000) beforehand. Both are very relaxing movies that star Juliette Binoche cooking delicious food.
neutral · AI labelView post →"The Taste of Things" is once again the #1 Netflix movie of the month. Its stars make millions filling short-form videos selling vintage wood stoves and wooden ladles.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched The Taste of Things / La Passion de Dodin Bouffant, and oh my god it is the Frenchest film possible, a neutron star of frenchness so dense, and yet light and airy at the same time
positive · AI labelView post →16. The Taste of Things Directed by Trần Anh Hùng 135 min. To convey texture, flavor and nourishment in realms beyond taste. In color and light, in story and verse, in the silent codes underscoring love, affection and trust. A film you want to do justice to by eating well after.
positive · AI labelView post →Catch my short film The Role before The Taste of Things at this screening tomorrow…
neutral · AI labelView post →The Taste of Things / Pot-au-feu (Frankrike, 2023) Matporno, rett og slett. Ingen annen film har tatt for seg kjærlighet til mat og det franske kjøkken på denne måten før. Ikke se den sulten. Mest på lista av personlige grunner.
positive · AI labelView post →We’d planned a movie marathon for Hogmanay but after The Taste of Things - film four - we refused to end the year with anything else. A perfect little movie that kept us warm while the storm raged outside.
positive · AI labelView post →Pick a movie, keep them human, insert one Muppet. The Taste of Things. Swap Dodin for the Swedish Chef.

positive · AI labelView post →Just caught that new movie The Taste of Things. Juliette Binoche, sure, but the real star was FRENCH FOOD zomg. Great movie, romantic, dramatic, touching, but no srsly wow food. Best looking cooking movie I’ve seen in a while. #moviesky
positive · AI labelView post →I join the chorus of those praising The Taste of Things, one of the great food movies. And despite the lack of physical intimacy in the film, it is deeply erotic. My @spectrumculture.bsky.social review.
positive · AI labelView post →Also: Sisu, Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, The Pot-au-Feu/The Taste of Things, The Teachers' Lounge, and Wonka. Think I'm gonna start with Ilker Çatak's The Teachers' Lounge, Germany's official entry for the international feature film Academy Award.

neutral · AI labelView post →The Taste of Things (Tran Anh Hung, 2023) starring Juliette Binoche is a strange, though lovely, movie. Part French heritage film, part “we just want to tell an ode to food.” Worth a watch!
neutral · AI labelView post →What if the love of food in a film like The Taste of Things met the idea of animal shape shifters à la Animorphs, throw in a dash of crime and existential despair and dark sex and you have Chimera by Gretchen Felker-Martin, out 2/16/27
neutral · AI labelView post →Much better choice! & if you want to watch a movie that actually is a great love story between two cooks, I recommend The Taste of Things if you haven't seen it.
positive · AI labelView post →If you like to watch films about food and cooking… and I think you do! I recommend the French film The Taste of Things. Lots of lovely food being prepared in a beautiful 19 th century kitchen. A love story and food and the importance of it all.
