60 of 221 · most liked firstSaw SUPERMAN. Loved SUPERMAN. No spoilers. If you've seen the 3 GOTG movies & X-Mas Special, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker S1, you know the high level of quality you're going to get with a @jamesgunn.bsky.social & co. movie set in a comic book universe. And Superman delivers exactly that! 1/2
unlabelledView post →Watched the Suicide Squad and I liked it a lot. Really good banter. Lots and lots of jokes that land. John Cena is amazing as Peacemaker. A bit disapointed with Harley character. Also, my biggest James Gunn pet peeve : calm down with the gruesomeness, or don't that f-ing linger that much on it!
unlabelledView post →What I’m saying is that The Suicide Squad is a very intelligent movie with a lot of very intentional thematic choices in it that also is about how cool it is when a guy gets hit and explodes into piles of organs and blood and goo
unlabelledView post →Biases aside (Krypto is eerily like my dog), James Gunn’s SUPERMAN is the most "punk" studio movie I've seen in a while. Especially after recently watching SLITHER and THE SUICIDE SQUAD, what a reliable treasure of the delightfully weird & heartfelt ❤️.
unlabelledView post →The guy has been openly bi since The Suicide Squad movie. It's implied that one of the reasons the Earth X Chris is so chaotic is because he is closeted. It's not queerbaiting if he's bisexual. WTF is wrong with y'all.
unlabelledView post →Thinking of superhero movies I’ve watched more than once and enjoyed. Big ones are: Batman Returns Spider-Man 2 The Suicide Squad The Lego Batman Movie The Dark Knight Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Thor: Ragnarok Into the Spider-Verse Dredd Big Hero 6 Captain Underpants Teen Titans Go to the Movies
unlabelledView post →The Suicide Squad maybe it’s my mask kink talking but I don’t think I’ve seen any discussion around how hot idris elba is in this movie (anyways this was great. gunn is so good at making movies about guys no one gaf about and building a solid group dynamic and fun characterization)
unlabelledView post →(Plus The Suicide Squad was a fucking *perfect* film, what do you mean there hasn't been a good one)
unlabelledView post →The Suicide Squad is the most comic booky ass live action movie with have so far and I loooove it lol It’s so good! From the camera movement choice, action direction, visual effects, sound design, costume design, it’s all great!Peacemaker next! Whole show! After I wake up later
unlabelledView post →Trump's version of the Suicide Squad is a hell of a lot more scary than the one in the movie.
unlabelledView post →Watching Creature Commandos, GI Robot is my favourite, but they really made Weasel a sympathetic character after the Suicide Squad movie where he's just repulsive.
unlabelledView post →that DC animated movie where the Suicide Squad gets sent to claim the Ticket To Heaven, but it’s all of his Large Adult Sons trying to heist the medal or statute or plaque or whatever a Nobel looks like
unlabelledView post →Say what you will about Gunn's DCU (and yes, it's new), but so far I haven't been required to watch other projects to understand a single film. THE SUICIDE SQUAD, CREATURE COMMANDOS, SUPERMAN, PEACEMAKER, SUPERGIRL, and LANTERNS have explained everything I needed to know within the first 5 minutes.

unlabelledView post →Still insane to me that The Suicide Squad had more Flash villains than the actual Flash movie that released two years after it.
unlabelledView post →"Why rats, Papa?" "Rats are the lowliest & most despised of all creatures, my love. But if they have purpose, so do we all." An incredible night watching @jamesgunn.bsky.social's THE SUICIDE SQUAD at the Alamo Drafthouse Winchester. Thank you David Dastmalchian for supplying the virtual intro🔴🔵⚫️⚪️
unlabelledView post →I had no idea these two films were so far apart from one another in terms of Gross Worldwide. I thought the sequel was a better story and far more entertaining. Plus Idris Elba > Will Smith Suicide Squad (2016) $749 Million The Suicide Squad (2021) $128 Million
unlabelledView post →Thunderbolts was good. It isn’t The Suicide Squad, but it is depressed anti-heroes and leans into that. First Marvel movie I’ve been to in a while where people clapped. Felt good to have one that feels both like we’re finally going somewhere AND that has at least something small to say.
unlabelledView post →Hey @jamesgunn.bsky.social, just rewatched The Suicide Squad, still an absolute blast. Also, it's a little detail, but super appreciated that you put Rick Flag in his classic yellow top
unlabelledView post →Liked Superman a lot! Would rewatch, and would rank the film comparatively to The Suicide Squad. Still prefer all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies over it, though!
unlabelledView post →The Guardians trilogy was stupendous. Still haven't shaken Guardians 3. The Suicide Squad was the best DCEU movie. Peacemaker S1 is one of my all time favorite streaming shows. I was completely confident Superman would be a hit.
unlabelledView post →I'll admit what I'm about to say is out of pure disinterest for this movie, but every trailer I've seen for Thunderbolts makes it look like the MCU wants to do their own worse version of Suicide Squad.... ...Not THE Suicide Squad, the amazing James Gunn film, I mean the garbage 2016 one.
unlabelledView post →Pretty sure we already scratched that itch with Suicide Squad (a movie by fuckups) and THE Suicide Squad (a movie about fuckups)
unlabelledView post →Can't believe The Suicide Squad had more Flash villains than the actual Flash movie.
unlabelledView post →Yeah, Birds of Prey was fun. The Suicide Squad (2021) was really good, in spite of the first one (2017) being terrible. The Pattinson Batman movie was solid. The second Shazam movie was kind of bland, though perhaps finding out that Zach Levy is a douche spoiled it for me.
unlabelledView post →Anyway, pretty good movie, not as good as The Suicide Squad or Peacemaker, but pretty good given that Superman is one of the most boring characters in all of superherodom!
unlabelledView post →Fun fact, one of the submitted Dial H for Hero heroes had a cameo in The Suicide Squad and the original fan creators (Chris Lawton and Nancy Mae Lawton) were credited in the movie as well

unlabelledView post →My Thinker design has been called very weird--and I think they captured that in the Suicide Squad movie. #ComicSky
unlabelledView post →I still can't believe there are people who didn't like this movie. It was damn near perfect imo. Also, I want more King Shark. I forgot how adorable he is. 🥹 My ★★★★½ review of The Suicide Squad (HBO Max) #filmsky #DCU
unlabelledView post →I have just watched The Suicide Squad, the 2021 movie, mostly because Idris Elba is in it. Hmm. What an angry angry movie. And also, bizarrely, considering the happily splatted innocents all over the scenery, what a sentimental moral fable it is too. Somehow both quite good and offensively stupid.
unlabelledView post →feels like the last time he did something in this ilk was with the Suicide Squad movie lmao
unlabelledView post →I can't help but wonder if James Gunn direct a Batman movie. The Suicide Squad, sure, but James Gunn needs to stay away from Batman 😔
unlabelledView post →#Rewatched The Suicide Squad (2021) - Love this movie. Daniela Melchior ❤️ If the entirety of modern superhero cinema was going down in a boat, I’d save this and Ragnarok. Also Idris Elba has the goofiest run.
unlabelledView post →Works done, time for a movie! Tonight's first randomly selected choice is... Nice! One of the few DC movies I have seen, and I remember liking it! The Suicide Squad, 2021
unlabelledView post →What's funny is that if its just military association, Gunn's not innocent either. The Guardians in their first film team up with what's basically the space military. Not to mention both Rick Flags. Are The Suicide Squad and Creature Commandos military worship? Ofc not, cause Waller literally exists

unlabelledView post →Der 2021er THE SUICIDE SQUAD Film ist schon recht gut.
unlabelledView post →That got me thinking...is Silver Banshee the one Superman villain Byrne created with any traction? Rampage popped up every once in a while, and Bloodsport had a brief resurgence when he turned up in the Suicide Squad movie, but that's kinda it. Oh, and the best -- Sleez!

unlabelledView post →"Batman: Assault on Arkham" debuted on this day (July 29) in 2014! Spun-out of the acclaimed "Batman Arkham" video game franchise, this excellent DC Universe Movie entry finds the Suicide Squad forced to break into Arkham Asylum and apprehend The Riddler! #BatmanArkham #Batman
unlabelledView post →Yeah Cena has grown in leaps and bounds as an actor. Even the growth in his skill from The Suicide Squad to season 2 of Peacemaker is really visible, and that’s because of the work he’s put in to keep up with some of the other actors. He’s great case study in someone with some natural talent who’s pushing themselves to become good. But yeah I’m bit biased as he’s the only guy I could see playing Carrot in a Discworld Guards movie and I really want that.
unlabelledView post →Suicide Squad's various trailers promised a much more fun movie than the tonally incoherent mess we wound up with. Well, at least we got The Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey from that.
unlabelledView post →"THE Suicide Squad" Everything you need to know: This movie will make you feel bad for the demise of a giant, psychic, city-smashing starfish
unlabelledView post →Oh yeah, I saw one other movie: THE SUICIDE SQUAD: how many false climaxes and why is this movie still going on (didn’t see it all, the plane landed, THANK HEAVEN)

unlabelledView post →This particular list cited THE SUICIDE SQUAD, and like what? Harley is basically a tertiary character in that. By no standard is it a "good for her" film. Now, BIRDS OF PREY, there is a film that actually has the arc that people who do the "good for her" arc think PEARL or MIDSOMER has.
unlabelledView post →Heathens by 21 pilots for the Suicide Squad. It’s not even great 21 Pilots, but it’s way better than the movie.
unlabelledView post →I love The Suicide Squad, but man, I really do think Gunn killing Captain Boomerang THAT quickly was a mistake. The ONLY thing from that movie I hope gets retconned
unlabelledView post →it is wild and wacky that THE SUICIDE SQUAD, a film whose box office (and it was 2020 so sure but still) ended below its budget, just cracked open what superhero films are gonna be now
unlabelledView post →Finished #CreatureCommandos S1: A weird start of James Gunn's DCU, but not a bad one either. Working as a spiritual successor of his previous film "The Suicide Squad", it was both funny and full of action as you'd hope from him. I'm excited for these monsters' next mission.
unlabelledView post →Krypto is the Goodest of Boys. ❤️ Genuinely cannot wait to see what you have in store for DC after The Suicide Squad film- squeaky bum time for Marvel in the coming years.
unlabelledView post →THE SUICIDE SQUAD is a really fun movie, BTW. I wouldn't have watched the original with that blocked person's eyes, but I ended up seeing the sequel, which was an absolute delight from start to finish.
unlabelledView post →Letterboxd Last Four Watched Friday Filmsky 📽 I don't know if The Suicide Squad is really a four-star film, but compared to the first Suicide Squad, it was kino magic.
unlabelledView post →Fast X was filming close to the Barbie set and John Cena approached Robbie (who he starred with in The Suicide Squad) and asked if there was a role for him in the film. Robbie spoke to Gerwig, and Cena was quickly cast as Merman Ken. 21/59
unlabelledView post →One thing that was missing from Superman (at least my showing) was there was no ad for DC comics before the film. IIRC, The Suicide Squad had an ad before the film for actual comics, and Gunn has certainly pushed comics to viewers and fans before. I’d have loved to see an ad for Superman comics
unlabelledView post →Now watching The Suicide Squad (not to be confused with the similarly-named vastly inferior movie) Cinema. Love James Gunn
