In the game, the player guides a silent protagonist named Stanley alongside narration by British actor Kevan Brighting. As the story progresses, the player is confronted with diverging pathways. I got great suggestions for the tower, Slay the Spire and Control were my favorites, but I went with The Stanley Parable because I felt like it really embodies the meaning really well and it was one of those really formative games for me.
unlabelledView post →Slay the Princess is a strange beast of a game. It seems to be inspired by Disco Elysium and The Stanley Parable, and plays like a psychological horror roguelike branching path visual novel. The hand-drawn images by @abbyhoward.bsky.social are stunning.
unlabelledView post →First of all, this is one of my favorite games ever and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm only leaving a negative review because this is the original 2013 release of the game and while it was well polished in its day it's starting to show its age and if you have the money to spare I highly recommend that you buy the 2022 remake "The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe" instead. Despite being a remake in Unity rather than Source it visually looks and mechanically plays exactly the same way, while…

unlabelledView post →I was thinking: "Alright, this game is fine and all, nothing crazy. I don't understand the hype behind it". But then I got to the Broom Closet Ending. OH. MY. GOD. That made all of it worth it! Just to see that ending I feel complete! At ease! Just for that ending alone, you HAVE to play this game! 4/5

unlabelledView post →This game changed my life. My perspective, my morals, my sexuality, even my gender. You need to be careful because The Narrator's buttery smooth voice will stick with you throughout your remaining days as you live your life. I used to work Toys-R-Us until The Narrator led me down a path where he told me to destroy the building... The judge didn't even believe me. They sent to a psychiatric hospital and tried to force pills down my throat. You know when sometimes one thing leads to the…

unlabelledView post →> Stanley writes a review on steam about his expeirance with the game. He says that the game was bad due to a british guy stuck in his head the time he was in there. Stanley's grammer was not the best surely. So when people looked at the review they did not like it and thought a lazy bum not a professional wrote this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Stanley Parable is a game about choice… except the game has opinions about your choices, and those opinions are extremely judgmental. You play as Stanley, an office worker whose job is to press buttons on a computer. One day, everyone disappears, and instead of questioning reality like a normal person, you immediately start wandering around listening to a narrator who thinks he’s in charge of your life. The narrator tells you what to do. You can follow him. Or you can not follow…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stanley felt so strongly about his love for this game that he just HAD to leave a review of it on Steam. He filled this review with a plethora of positive anecdotes; the review was glowing, detailing Stanley's incredible experience. He bragged on and on about the narrator's impeccable wit, sense of humor, and charming smooth voice. He wrote a review so long and so detailed that it clogged up Steam's servers for everyone worldwide, leading to the permanent shutdown of the platform as a whole. As…

The glued together panels would simply shrink over time in the doorframe causing cold air to flow into the office. I would recommend you uninstall this game in boycott of this horrible design flaw!!

unlabelledView post →Am I Stanley? Stanley is mean to me. Stanley is everything, and everything is Stanley. At least that’s the general idea behind this bizarre psychological social experiment that someone somehow turned into a video game. The strange thing is… it’s actually really good. The graphics are decent enough, but the real highlight is the narration and the way the game constantly reacts to your choices. The flow of events can either delight you or completely drive you insane depending on how…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had the most difficult achievements, and it was fun pursuing them over the years. "The broom closet ending was my favorite."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is proto-Backrooms, long before the actual Backrooms craze started, but a clear inspiration. It's closer to the Black Mirror-esque Backrooms games where you feel hopelessly lost and look for subtle clues, not so much the horror/survival ones where you encounter entities. However, unlike most of these types of games are now, this one is more of a concept piece that lacks a stopping point. It gets compared to Portal a lot, but Portal has a definitive ending. Stanley Parable doesn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to see more games like this The main con is that the game is very short. I highly recommend buying it at least 75% off There is a brand new extended version, don't buy it if you want the newer one. 6/10 pretty cozy and calm game you can play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Accurate real life simulator *Starts game* *closes office door* *refuse to go outside ever*
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Stanley Parable is an incredible experience. A game commenting on games themselves, their characters, and plot structures. Just be aware this is more walking simulator with some interactive elements, however each playthrough is very quick. If this is your first time playing this, you are in for a treat. You play as the titular Stanley, and you have to make choices. Very specific choices. Very important choices. Or none at all. That, too, is a choice. Kevan Brighting as the Narrator is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a METAGAME. For a game from over a decade ago, its interaction is surprisingly impressive. Since it’s an older game, some people may encounter crashes when launching it, so I recommend adding -threads 1 in the launch options.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it! But I am a fan of Superliminal, The Stanley Parable, Exit 8 etc. so I was primed. I would play the video game if they made it.
