positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One step forward. Three Steps back. When you work in the political industry, it hurts to play games like this. I have been playing since the OG Political Machine in 2008. Somehow every time the game gets worse every 4 years. They add a much needed feature, then they remove some. Every Four Years.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be way more fun if you could run as different political parties. Not just independent, green, libertarian, etc... Let me revive the Whig party and make the entire country yellow
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have Political Machine 2016, 2020, and 2024. For some reason the devs have consistently made this game worse as the years go by. 2020 is a tolerable step down from 2016. But 2024 is terrible in comparison. I don't have high hopes for the 2028 edition.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is largely a gimmicky product that has a lot flashy things like cards using buzzwords or issues to make it seem like it's relevant. Fundamentally, the game has not really improved since 2008. The core features are still the same and everything else just seems like window dressing. That does mean that some of the charm of the original game is still there, but there isn't much substance beyond that. As for the election simulation, this game is far from reality. It lacks depth and is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gets repetitive after a bit, and considering there are practically zero updates, it's not worth 20$. Buy the Political Process for a more fun and well-rounded experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the only game where you can be an authoritarian and seem like a suitable candidate
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a deep political sim you're not gonna ever find it with a Political Machine game. These are very shallow and somewhat simple management games that only have marginal changes between entries (a lot like those 2K NBA games). This one did add primaries, action cards, and tweak a lot of other things, but it's nothing that justifies the $20 price, especially if you are satisfied with the old games. All that being said, I really enjoy these. They are still nice little games to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't bother with 2020 because 2016 was such a dud, but 2024 somehow surpassed it. I bought this a long time ago and figured well, shoot, surely they must've improved? Well, at least you can have infinite points for custom candidates, so you can finally give them an actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platform! But it turns out that they gimped the character creation, aesthetically speaking. They all resemble rigid, low-effort, blocky plastic Roblox toys rather than actual bobblehead caricatures with floating…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do like the game for what it is, but holy crap its repetative, you. cant give your candidates unqiue political beliefs like in 2020, and there is no third-party system. definitly not worth 20 bucks for not getting any updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those I wish steam had a middle rating option, went with thumbs up just because it is kinda fun for what it is, but don't expect too much depth here, also game is way over priced for what is there. But, here's a thumbs up hoping they keep updating and adding features. One thing this game really needs is a way to create a national policy to run on. Sure you can take stands on issues depending on the state you are in, but I never really feel like I'm building a campaign policy and more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game but please add third party candidates fighting both republicans and democrats
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun but frustrating. Theres tons of RNG and lack of realism. Debates RNG and limited number of questions is the worst part. Harris could use a nerf since we know the real results now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This iteration of Political Machine feels like it took two steps forwards but three steps backwards. I like the addition of primaries to the game, but that's pretty much the only 100% positive addition. The political "decks" are a fun idea, but aren't executed very well. They kind of make the acquiring of political capital much higher of a priority than in previous titles, since now in addition to being used for endorsements like previous entries, you also need political capital to use the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would give it a thumbs up if it were not for the price, it's ridiculously expensive for what the game is, there are triple A games out there that cost less than this. The fact that I cannot find a single multiplayer game even though I'm waiting for like 10 minutes, I think it shows how so many people are not playing the game because of the price. Similar game like 270 to Win you can find online lobbies all the time because the price is much closer to reality.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →only on sale It's not terrible. Relatively unbiased, the political system makes sense more or less, the candidate stats make no sense whatsoever but ok. It's aight. Probably one of the best entries in the series although the game is the same anyways except for the 2024 update. This is not a deep simulation. What you get here is a mobile board game style game. Think monopoly. Bit better but not much. One run takes about 4 hours and then what? You won, yay! Replay value almost 0. You're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had potential but has largely been abandoned by the devs in its barebones state. Likely will just be forgotten for the next release in 2028 anyway. Got it when it came out, but now regret it. Not worth the price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly the game isn't bad, it took me about an hour or two just to get the basics down but once I did it was a very enjoyable experience. The game has sat on my wishlist for a while and I figured with it being on sale it wouldn't hurt to pick it up. I love the custom character customisation... although it does seemingly need work because of bugs. I like the animations within the game, it makes it feel very fluid and enjoyable. Personally I think a Player vs Friend mode should be added where…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →whoever said this game was hard has a skill issue
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Other than a few possible glitches, this game is super fun for politicing weirdos like me! It is strategic, and tense. Hope this game continues to get the love it deserves!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't even play it before refunding because I hate that the game reduces something as complex as politics into a handful of card decks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a significantly worse and dumbed down version of 2016 with a lot less room for both strategy and creativity. One of the worst cases of brand based scam i have ever encountered. I was extremely stupid and bought it on a sale, which turned out to be the worst financial decision of my life.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I struggled to give this a yes recommendation, but decided to anyways. It's enjoyable for what it is, and it's solid to say the least. What rubs me the wrong way is how I play the 2020 version and it feels like a superior game. I find myself going back to it more because it's so much more enjoyable and feels like a much better product. 2024 plays like 2020 but half complete. The card system is too much, and I appreciate the option to turn it off. Everything just kind of feels lackluster while…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, not extremely realistic of course like Louisiana will sometimes go blue and at the same time New Jersey will go red, Character customization is really nice and a huge improvement from the political machine 2020, You can't customize the maps and its hard finding online matches but usually based on who the candidate is it will adjust polling throughout the states significantly, like I made a Goldwater VS Johnson scenario and it was pretty similar to the actual election, The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an improvement from Political Machine 2020 for sure. The UI is less ugly, the bobble heads are less ugly, and primaries were a great addition to the game. There are, however, some issues that make the game hard to recommend. A couple bugs around debates can be frustrating and game breaking, multiplayer is dead, and it's very hard to justify recruiting friends at the steep $20 price tag. The game is worth $10 at the most generous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →obviously picks favorites
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely impossible to win against AI. Even on Cakewalk difficulty. They seem to have twice the stamina. If you play Republican, the Democrat AI somehow flips the deep south even though they went there once or twice throughout the whole election. If you play Democrat, the Republicans flip things like Vermont and Washington, crushing your chances to win. It's incredibly frustrating how hard the game is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game very like
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas... MINNESODAAA🥤🥤😀😀😀
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trust me, it's good. I would know. I'm the best.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anything below medium is too easy and anything above that too deterministic unless you're playing a short campaign.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun but it is biased towards the liberals. Beginner for Republicans is more like normal mode. They give better issues to the Democrats and the issues and realistically as important to people in real life. I still like it it is fun. But I don't really think that it should cost 20$
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the best political simulator game ever made and it is MUCH better than the 2020 edition, which I also loved. This game is very good. Things I like: Campaign offices are way more complex in this edition. Basically there are 4 types of offices you can build. Voter registration centers, which boost your enthusiasm in a state, Voter think tanks, which help convert the issues in a state to be more favorable to you (helps in swing states a lot) power broker offices (which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nobody is online in this game and it was very boring to play SOLO/AI. Do not recommend!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game! However I think that they should add Primary debates (1 for Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina, and Michigan). I also think that they should make lobbyists produce 1 political capital per turn instead of 0.5, and that intimidators decrease 3% enthusiasm instead of 1% enthusiasm. I think that they should be able to gain achievements for ideological goals, such as, "The Political Machine 2020." Also Obama DEFINETLY needs to get nerfed, he`s too overpowered! I also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trump is ridiculously OP and needs to be retooled.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and realistic, but the debate needs some fixing. Some candidates say things in the debate they dont even stand for, like trump saying he doesn't support the wall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm addicted and I only got the game yesterday. Send help.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy how The Political Machine 2024 makes any state feel winnable with the right strategy — it keeps every campaign exciting and full of possibilities. I also love the wide variety of politicians to choose from and the ability to create and customize my own candidates; it adds so much replay value and personal creativity to the game. On top of that, the debates and issue discussions add a really engaging layer of strategy and realism that makes every election feel different and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its not worth the full price it should be way lower for the quality of the game. However apart from it the game has a tiny bit of a lack of repalyabilty which may make it unfun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs, Bugs everywhere. Lots of ruined games where it just freezes or will not allow for responses in debates. Do NOT spend more than $2 on this game, in my opinion it's not worth $20. I liked 2020, and had 2016 as well. While they weren't as complex as the new one at least they worked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun in a stupid way, but it's not worth $20. The best feature is the ability to make custom candidates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty baller if you like politics. I had a ton of fun with this game. It is easy to play again and again due to all of the candidates. Additionally, you can create your own candidates or download some from Steam. TPM24 is a good game for the price! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite challenging! A great game for political junkies!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fitting upgrade from 2020 but still misses a bit with the state mechanics. I wish there were two modes of the game, one in its current form, and one that simulates more realistic state dynamics where a Republican can't win by 35 points in CA. Also, it would be fantastic if we could get a more detailed breakdown of the final vote totals. Overall, a great game that needs just a few tweaks to be perfect.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Because it is Yay or Nay I will vote Yay but barely. So now I am going to mostly complain a lot. If you have played one of these before you know what it is. The cards can be fun and I can see the appeal to the harder difficulties even if it usually equates to picking a 270 strategy and going all in. Also it seems like the AI has wayyyyy more energy and money then you do playing as the same character of higher difficulties. The biggest complaint I have is the lack of National elements that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Political Machine 2024, developed and published by Stardock Entertainment, is a political strategy game that offers players the opportunity to run a presidential campaign in the United States. Released on May 2, 2024, the game builds upon its predecessors by introducing new features and refining existing mechanics to provide a more immersive and strategic experience. One of the standout features of The Political Machine 2024 is its deep simulation of the U.S. electoral process. The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is one of the first unenjoyable trash games ive ever purchased, first of all it's difficulty is nearly impossible; no matter what you play on. the game gets repetitive very quickly- not to mention but this game also has inaccurate game over advice, when doing what has been said on the game over, despite doing what the game said- it's the same latter advice, i advise if you are a long term fan of a series whereas i was not, do not get this game. it is nearly impossible to play even if you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game i have always enjoyed the political machine games over the years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Is A Really Fun And Realistic Game. One Thing That This App Should Add Is Third Party Candidates. Overall, It's Very Good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a great game, I have had it on my phone for a few years though it seems to be miles better on PC. I'll always love the option to create your own candidate, it leaves open the possability to be able to create other politicans from around the globe or even celebrities. Overall, 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They took out all the best bits from the 2020 version and re-added features from the 2016 version while adding a very naff debate feature. It is just boring and lacks any charm. Also the starting list of candidates to play as is genuinely pathetic.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is honestly my new favourite game! I thought I wasn't going to like it but something about the visuals and the concept forced me to buy it on sale. 100% worth the money. I just finished having Joe Biden run against Jill Stein (as a republican), so you aren't necessarily beholden to a realistic scenario. There is actually a surprising amount of depth in what I thought was going to just be a silly couple hours of fun and while I am still learning the ropes, it doesn't feel like a stupidly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game for an election day!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The name is the only similarity to other games in the series. Difficulty level much higher than previous games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"The Lighthearted Politics of 2024." The Political Machine 2024 is an updated version of the classic 2008 game, and as someone who played the original all those years ago, the similarities are striking. Mechanically, it's practically the same game, which can be both a positive and a drawback depending on your expectations. On one hand, it retains that simple yet addictive gameplay loop that made the original so charming, with its lighthearted take on the often heavy subject of politics. On the…
