unlabelledView post →Ten years ago today, The Peanuts Movie was released. A very honorable and charming tribute to the comic strip created by Charles Schulz, this film from Blue Sky is such a delight featuring its pretty unique animation, simple story, and the cast of timeless characters.

unlabelledView post →Here's some concept art from The Peanuts Movie by Ty Carter. One thing I love about this film is that it really captures the look of Charles Schulz's comics, all while keeping the spirit of them and not playing to low rate trends. Still such a sweet film.

unlabelledView post →I am going to skeet about The Peanuts Movie again: It bothers me that Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Franklin all attend the same school as Charlie Brown, et al., because it's established series lore that the other trio lives in a different neighborhood.

unlabelledView post →*pushing glasses up on nose* Am I to believe that between the run of the Peanuts comic strip from 1950 to 2000 and the release of The Peanuts Movie in 2015, two neighboring school districts would have been consolidated in some sort of cost-saving measure amid a period of government austerity?

unlabelledView post →Wowzers! 10 years ago today, The Peanuts Movie premiered and I was a very happy person! I loved it and still love it, and rewatch it regularly! 💛🖤💛 At the time, I was still drawing my first webcomic, Dandy & Company, and made THIS homage about the movie. I might need a rewatch soon. :)

unlabelledView post →You know what bothers me about the Bluey movie situation? The Peanuts Movie had the same 3D treatment. And so did Captain Underpants and Dog Man. Nobody complained about those movies. So why are we complaining now?
unlabelledView post →JUST finished it, & !!!! Freaking metal on so many wavelengths. Loved loved loved it. Blue Sky Studios, the studio behind Ice Age and The Peanuts Movie, was gonna make Nimona til they got gobbled up by Disney, who went on to shelf the film. Then Annapurna resurrected it. Disney NEVER deserved it.

unlabelledView post →Man, The Peanuts Movie is so special.
unlabelledView post →The Peanuts Movie is based off the Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz and features Charlie Brown and Snoopy as its main characters, and its a great movie and probably my favorite Blue Sky movie. For a film that is written by the sons of Schulz its faithful to the cartoon and to the TV specials.
unlabelledView post →Good grief. It has now been 10 years since The Peanuts Movie came out. The best movie ever made by Blue Sky Studios. Happy 10th Anniversary to this masterpiece!

unlabelledView post →It reminds me a lot of The Peanuts Movie in that I feel the models actually capture the spirit of the characters really well. But I still would have preferred both films in 2D. Ah well, I will be seated regardless. 🍿
unlabelledView post →I rewatched The Peanuts Movie with my kids over the weekend. In addition to just being a really cute, well-made film, I always marvel at the way the animators and design team were able to recreate Schulz's world using realistic textures--all while staying true to his distinct visual vocabulary.
unlabelledView post →Near flawless modernisation of good ole Peanuts, with the same old Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest in gorgeous animation style. "Somehow, Blue Sky Studios made The Peanuts Movie work. I honestly think they exceeded expectations and made their best movie with this one." #MovieSky #Letterbxd

unlabelledView post →And like… I get it. It’s frustrating that we’re rarely getting 2D animated movies these days, even when they’re based on an animated series of that particular style. But I’m just saying, why is it not okay for Bluey to be in 3D and yet the Peanuts Movie gets a pass?

unlabelledView post →I think the solution to this is just do what The Peanuts Movie did and just accept the limitations of the material, but make the most out of it to make a faithful and enjoyable film that embraces the strengths of the IP without pandering to the lowest common denominator.

And finally, for SOME REASON, The Peanuts Movie film itself showed some footage of a Rugrats movie that never existed. My dream-self was like "Yeah sure, this makes perfect sense." (2/2)

Charlie Brown goes through his fair share of adversities in the film, like at the school talent show, the school dance, the assembly regarding his test score, and the book report…

unlabelledView post →I'll say while I preferer the movie to be animated in 2D like the show (with a higher budget of course) or at least have similar animation to The Peanuts Movie (2015), I don't mind the 3D designs they went for.
unlabelledView post →I think they translate quite well to CGI. It gives me The Peanuts Movie vibes if you ask me.
unlabelledView post →Funny thing is your first comment PERFECTLY FIT too because YES it’s over the movie being 3D - the characters look exactly the same as the show, just 3D rendered like The Peanuts Movie (one of my faves btw).
