I lost it and everything else in the house fire a few years back. I am going to make another copy and I might actually make proper woodcuts of the illustrations.

unlabelledView post →THE NINTH GATE (1999) director’s cut where instead of self-immolating, the seemingly apotheosized villain has one of his followers hack his head off with a machete and try to bowl a three hundred game in real time. he tries to steer a little but it doesn’t work. the rest of the film is unchanged
unlabelledView post →Looks like the Ninth Gate is our next #horrorwatch movie! And since Night of the Demon has been so close the last three polls, we'll do that one next Saturday
unlabelledView post →this movie The Ninth Gate is pretty dull but it was worth it for when Frank Langella comes storming into the satan worship ceremony like, You dumb fucks in your jack ass robes don't know SHIT about satan. Know who knows about satan? ME
unlabelledView post →#filmsky The private life of birthday boy Johnny Depp has lately eclipsed his great film career, but he spots a smart opportunity in working with directors like Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow) and Roman Polanski (The Ninth Gate), two fab cult horror films. Johnny brings a fine dry wit to both; I’m a fan.

unlabelledView post →Watching The Ninth Gate. Not very well-liked, but an underrated horror movie. Just like Wolf, it plays things completely straight, and that verisimilitude props up the supernatural elements in a way most horror movies, maybe especially devil movies, don't bother to.
unlabelledView post →THE NINTH GATE is a Roman Polanski film starring Johnny Depp based on a novel (EL CLUB DUMAS) by Arturo Perez-Reverte. Polanski raped a minor; Johnny Depp has the whole Amber Heard thing. As a film, it's fine, it's fun. But it's not required viewing in the way ROSEMARY'S BABY is for horror.
unlabelledView post →I was feeling sad about missing #horrorwatch tonight, but I just saw that the movie is The Ninth Gate, and to be honest, I loathe that film with my whole heart, so while I'll miss everyone, I'm not too bothered about skipping this week. I'll see you all next week though 🩸❣️🩸
unlabelledView post →Perfect beginning (trigger warning!) to Roman Polanski's THE NINTH GATE (1999) with music by the great Wojciech Kilar. Depp was still tolerable back then, playing straight man in a cast of gloriously grandstanding ham. It's a very, very funny film (though maybe only if you're a sick puppy like me).
unlabelledView post →Books to film 📚=🎞️ The Club Dumas (1993) by Arturo Pérez-Reverte was adapted to film as the Ninth Gate in 1999 & directed by Roman Polanski. The literary leanings of the novel such as the Alexandre Dumas subplot is reduced. The film emphasizes the supernatural over mystery. 📜😈🔥 #filmsky #booksky

unlabelledView post →It's that time of week again! Time to #horrorwatch! This week's movie is "The Ninth Gate". If you're not about this chatter, mute your hashtag now!
unlabelledView post →My answer to this is always The Ninth Gate, an insane Roman Polanski movie starring Johnny Depp as a rare book dealer searching for a book that was written by the devil
unlabelledView post →The Ninth Gate. I've watched this film at least two dozen times. Has such a great atmosphere.
unlabelledView post →Film - The Ninth Gate Corso should have flew the book and ran for the hills haha
unlabelledView post →Wife and I have been on a 90s movie kick lately. Yesterday, we watched The Ninth Gate and Tank Girl. Today, we’re watching Hackers. Young Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie really were at the top of their game. What a time to be alive. 🤙🏻🤙🏻 #nostalgia

unlabelledView post →#filmsky Just watched: The Ninth Gate. Polanski’s most stylish film has a fab new Blu Ray, sizzling with satanic goodies. Johnny Depp’s sly fox & Frank Langella’s sinister satanist make a gorgeous couple; Emmanuelle Seigner is giddy comic relief as Green Eyes. Great travelogue of Paris and Lisbon
unlabelledView post →Johnny Depp is a hit with Tubi viewers. The Depp horror thriller classic "The Ninth Gate" is trending and now the Number 2 most watched film in the U.S. on the streaming service. #JohnnyDepp
unlabelledView post →Ha! I’m sorry you can’t join us. Like the Ninth Gate, this movie has ancient woodcuts as plot points. #horrorwatch
unlabelledView post →Just realized that the Club Dumas (novel adapted into the movie "The Ninth Gate") which I kept being like "it's been too soon for a re-read" I actually haven't re-read in six years so now I'm rereading it and folks: it's still really good. Plus this time I've actually read the Three Musketeers.
unlabelledView post →After long day of online Nazi propaganda fighting, I've decided to unwind with a Roman Polanski film starring the great Johnny Depp. 'The Ninth Gate' 2000 Excited to see this one! #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, or Marvel (The Ninth Gate)
unlabelledView post →THE NINTH GATE is the best Cthulhu Mythos film.
unlabelledView post →The Ninth Gate is like, very very close to being A Movie I Love but it's also really dumb in a lot of ways. Also like, Fuck Polanski and Depp can eat turds too

unlabelledView post →Been struggling with a story for a whole damn week, so I gotta set it aside and just indulge in some black magic weirdness. Tonight's writing music is THE NINTH GATE by Wojciech Kilar (from the film of the same name), because you can't go wrong with Kilar's music.
unlabelledView post →Film - The Ninth Gate Dir. Roman Polanski Corso should have discarded the book from the jump and ran for the hills haha
unlabelledView post →On his advice, I am now watching the Ninth Gate.. and, it's a Roman Polanski film? That's opens with.. holy fuck.. let's strap in then..

The #castle in the film looked as mysterious as this fortified #church near Koper. Inside, I saw #frescos known as the Dance of Death > www.travelwriticus.com/holy-trinity... #Slovenia
unlabelledView post →Some people understandably won't mess with it, bc of the director (or even, nowadays, the star, echh), but The Ninth Gate is a fantastically enjoyable 'little film' occult noir—my favorite of the tiny genre—with wonderfully-villainous turns by Frank Langella & Lena Olin.
unlabelledView post →The Club Dumas. Great pulpy meets literary mystery/drama. Very engrossing. They made a solid, loosely adapted film of it in THE NINTH GATE, but the book is way better
unlabelledView post →My current read: The Club Dumas by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Although some details are quite different in the book versus its film adaptation, The Ninth Gate (1999), it’s got a very similar neo-noir vibe.
unlabelledView post →I picked up a copy of of the Dumas club after rewatching The Ninth Gate recently. I read this years ago and can’t find it so grabbed another copy. The illustrations in are similar to the ones in the film and there’s the multiple versions of each, but which ones did Lucifer draw?
unlabelledView post →Good mail day. Got my movies from Vinegar Syndrome and a promo movie tee for THE NINTH GATE, which looks like a metal shirt and will probably get me canceled.
unlabelledView post →The Ninth Gate is a wonderful movie.
unlabelledView post →Watched The Ninth Gate last night. I like a Satanic horror film so don’t know why I’ve never seen this before. I enjoyed it although can’t claim to have figured out what it all means. I had forgotten it was a Roman Polanski film until the closing credits. It’s not Rosemary’s Baby but then, what is?
unlabelledView post →I finished reading 'Club Dumas' and I think I like it more than the movie (The Ninth Gate). I liked how Alexandre Dumas was intertwined with the plot. Now I have the need to read some more satanic literature, lol. Any suggestions #booksky?

unlabelledView post →"The Ninth Gate" is one of my cinematic pleasures. I enjoy occult films that I have to work for, intellectually. This video is a nice discussion of why this film is deeper than it appears: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN6m...

unlabelledView post →Hey #horrorwatch! It's that time again, to vote on Saturday's #horror movie #watchparty on #horrorsky! This month's theme is the Gothic. I added in the Ninth Gate this time, mixing it up with a more modern film. Vote! Vote! And join us 9PM EST this saturday for the fun!

unlabelledView post →Such a wonderfully creepy film. I also really liked The Ninth Gate.
unlabelledView post →Question: Is that the book that the movie THE NINTH GATE is based on? Because, until this moment, I didn't realize the movie (which I love) was based on a book but the synopsis seems like it.

unlabelledView post →First discovered APR after learning The Ninth Gate (great film, of the Constantine sort) was based on his book The Club Dumas. Devoured that, then The Flanders Panel. Started the Alatristes while traveling last year but fell off them. Picked up again this week. Absolutely joyous. #books #booksky

unlabelledView post →So I decided to watch The Ninth Gate to fall asleep to again, and never realized it was a Polanski film. I knew he was a creeper and avoiding the US for legal reasons. But I did a deep dive and found out just how big of creeper he actually is. Holy fuck.
unlabelledView post →Closest would be "The Ninth Gate," although I think I agree with @eitang.bsky.social that a good soundtrack renders a movie at least ok
unlabelledView post →For some reason, I remember the Ninth Gate being slow and atmospheric. It's basically a thriller. I wonder what movie I confused it with. #NowWatching #MovieSky #HorrorSky 🎥
unlabelledView post →Fair enough. He looked EXACTLY like Dr. Strange in the movie The Ninth Gate
unlabelledView post →The Ninth Gate. Now there's a movie I haven't thought about in some time.
unlabelledView post →I'm watching The Ninth Gate in chunks. Johnny Depp is a rare book dealer. All of these people touching these books with their bare hands and him smoking(‼️) over them is driving me bonkers. When he dropped ash on "one of three books in all the world" the authenticity kinda dropped, heh 🙄 #booksky
unlabelledView post →Roman Polanski and Johnny Depp are both garbage humans… But y’all, if The Ninth Gate is on the TV, that’s what I am doing. Why does this terrible movie have such power over me?
unlabelledView post →The Ninth Gate(1999) A movie about book written by Satan. Great cast, unique story, v fun watch. Frank Langella is, as usual, outstanding in this.
unlabelledView post →It's real Post Whatever hours so I'll talk about one of my favourite villain types. Dunno what you'd call it, but I have two examples: Leland Townsend from the TV series Evil, and Boris Balkan from the film The Ninth Gate. They are unpretentious devil worshippers. 1/5
