He wakes up in a small town with no memory & no name. But to the townsfolk, he seems suspiciously familiar... #review #movie #moviereview

positive · AI labelView post →The Majestic was the absolute worst film I have ever seen. A self congratulatory sugar cube.

neutral · AI labelView post →So what I can say is our local chain of formerly Alamo Drafthouse locations (renamed the Majestic) has had this in place for right around a year... and it fucking sucks. Phones out constantly during the movie, flashlights coming on to read the QR codes. Awful. Servers are for sure overworked too.

Last night we walked to the Majestic to get movie tickets for Spiderman next week and got banh-mi to bring home. It's an uncomplicated night but being able to stroll through people in the city and do things on my feet is 🥰

unlabelledView post →I had one of those in a film the other day. I had forgotten so much about the film in question (The Majestic), because it feels like it got memory holed for being an anti-war, anti-authoritarian film that came out three months after 9/11. Never being reminded about it made details fade.

unlabelledView post →oblivion, which is too bad. ☹️ I've always been a cinema fan. Movies like Cinema Paradiso and The Majestic are love letters to my inner film-loving spirit. (And although that Nicole Kidman AMC trailer is 🙄, it's also accurate.) It makes me sad that we're losing that feeling.

unlabelledView post →Floozy Film Friday! I watched The Majestic this week. Cute movie through most of it, although I was uncomfortable with how much the townfolk were projecting into a man with amnesia. Loved the bit about free speech at the end.
unlabelledView post →This version of LEFT BEHIND was one of those rare movies that I saw in a theater, on opening weekend, where nobody but me (and my podcast co-host) were in attendance. (The other one was THE MAJESTIC, which made the film’s speech about the magic of seeing a movie with a crowd extra, extra sad.)

unlabelledView post →The Majestic (2001) Just a little movie about a guy who stands up to the fascists in Congress back in the HUAC days. No big deal. Jim Carrey is a writer who has a traumatic experience that screws up his head for around 7 months. This spoke to me. Got some speeches in it that people need to hear.

unlabelledView post →If something gets the Frank Darabont seal of approval, you know it is good. His "worst" outing might be that Frankenstein film he wrote, and even that was still ok. Or maybe The Majestic.
unlabelledView post →Every yr at Christmas time I watch The Majestic. I try not to be too political with postings but this movie reminds me of how badly T-rump has ruined our country. Yet this movie gives me hope that there are people out there like the characters in the movie who fight for how our country should be.
