I started The Last of Us thinking this was a zombie game. It isn’t. It’s a game about loss, guilt, and pretending you’re fine while the world quietly collapses. I opened a door, picked up some supplies, and somehow ended up questioning my morals. Clickers aren’t the real threat — attachment is. Joel doesn’t save the world. He barely saves himself. And Ellie? She turns sarcasm into armor and hope into a dangerous habit. Combat is slow, heavy, uncomfortable. Every bullet feels expensive. Every…

Back in June 2013 when the game originally released I was 12 years old, I didn't own a PlayStation so the only way I got to enjoy this game was by watching people play it on YouTube. Today it is July 8th 2026, a little after 2AM. It is my 26th birthday and I have finally played through this masterpiece. I've enjoyed it and I felt like I was back in 2013 seeing this game on YouTube for the first time. To say this game is a masterpiece would be to sell it short.

I’m usually the type of guy who stays in the shadows and never posts anything online, but this time I simply can’t move on without rating this game. Back in 2013, when I saw the massive hype surrounding The Last of Us, I was frustrated that I didn’t own a PS3. I ended up spoiling a lot of the experience for myself by watching playthroughs and let’s plays. As a PC-only gamer, I always dreamed of a proper PC port. Years passed, and when I heard that The Last of Us was finally coming to PC, I…

An action-adventure game that tells a story of survival in a post-apocalyptic world I’ll start by saying that in my review I won’t be comparing the game to its pre-remastered version; I’ll focus solely on the part I’ve played! ✅For me, the biggest strength of this game and the reason I simply love games like this is the relationship between the main characters, Joel and Ellie. As the story unfolds, they gradually build their bond through conversations, shared experiences and small everyday…

I honestly can’t believe how they managed to make a game with such limited gameplay, yet do everything else so perfectly that it went down in history. This is my fifth completion on PC after playing it first on PlayStation. Truly one of the greatest games of all time. 10/10.

People always say the apocalypse brings out the worst in humanity. I disagree. It brings out the truth. That's why I love this game. The world ends, governments collapse, cities rot away, and suddenly everyone stops pretending they're civilized. Funny how quickly morals disappear when there isn't anyone left to applaud them. The infected are fantastic. Clickers. Runners. Bloaters. Loud. Violent. Predictable. It's the humans that keep my attention. Every survivor has a reason why…

Let us be clear The Last of Us Part I is not a "fun" game. It is, nevertheless, a stunningly, heart, wrenching, emotionally, shattering interactive experience that will, in the very order, make you cuddle your dear ones and go take a shower. It's the video game equivalent of seeing a flawless, five, star, Oscar, winning movie in which the family dog dies in the second act. It is the story of Joel, a grumpy smuggler with the emotional depth of a brick, and Ellie, a teenage girl who curses like…

I saw nothing technical to complain about, so let's cut to the chase. I'd play it for the contemplative music and apocalyptic set pieces alone, so naturalistic yet with a pinch of stylisation. Naughty Dog used technological advancements to breathe life into both characters and action. They couldn't have conveyed their vision fully without such an intricate facial animation and nuances. Hell, spit flies out Bill's mouth when he angrily reprimands Joel! Now, that's a great fusion of tech and…

The Last of Us isn’t just a game. It’s an emotional masterpiece, a story that breaks your heart into pieces only to carefully stitch it back together – just to break it again. 💔 The story of Joel and Ellie is unforgettable. From the very beginning, it pulls you into a post-apocalyptic world that’s broken, yet still full of small traces of humanity. Every dialogue, every glance, and every moment of silence carries meaning. You feel the characters grow, change, and form a deep bond that…

The Last of Us Part I is an unforgettable experience built on a powerful and emotional story. It follows a broken father who, after losing his daughter, finds himself protecting someone just as precious. Every step of the journey feels intense and personal. It's one of the best games ever made, truly. The story, the characters, the world - its just like a brilliant movie. What Naughty Dog and Niel Drunkman did to this game's story in the second part should be considered a crime. My only complaint would be shader rendering which takes AGES in this game.

Some experiences are so masterfully crafted that they transcend their own medium. Thirteen years ago, as a broke teenager craving the industry's newest post-apocalyptic obsession, I settled for YouTube Let's Plays to fill the void. Over the years, that coping mechanism crystallised into a devout annual tradition: treating the game not as an interactive playground, but as an eleven-hour film. For thirteen long years, voluntarily have I chosen the spectator’s seat over the controller – such is…

An outstanding game, does the apocalypse really well. Joel and Ellie are a great protagonist duo their chemistry is strong and holds the game together, the story is amazing and the combat is really good. Some tense segments with the infected, and the game takes you on a unforgettable journey. Survival and resource management is fair and doesn't feel like it leans in either too much loot or too little but just the right amount where you're holding onto bits of ammo and resources to get by.…

If you're…

The Last of Us is more than a game built around its theme — it’s a masterclass in storytelling. Going in, I honestly wasn’t sure this game would be for me. Revisiting this masterpiece for the second time, I still find myself unable to judge if Joel made the right choice. I can barely stand the look in Ellie's eyes during that final moment. The only thing I know for sure is that Joel loved her with all his heart, just like a daughter. Love is always blind and selfish, but I don't blame him. No father could ever endure the heartbreak of losing his child twice.

The biggest reason I'm giving this a negative review is the poor optimization. Even though optimization has improved since launch, I'd argue this game still takes way too much VRAM and compute resources to run even at lower settings and with AI upscaling. I would only really recommend this for systems that have more than 8GB of VRAM. At 8GB, most configurations require a lot of cuts to be made to even run. For instance, the "normal" texture streaming rate is atrocious, requiring at least "Fast"…

An easy 9/10 To think this game released 13 years ago is INSANE. The world is beautifully crafted, the characters are real and the story is great. Ellie and Joel are some of the most raw characters in video games. A true masterpiece of story telling / character plots. The combat / gore / animations are more satisfying than most games ever made. The attention to detail is what makes this game so special. My only complaint is there's a little too much 'puzzle' filler (ladders, dumpsters & water…
