My Playtime: 4.6h (100% achievement, finished the game) Grindy Achievement(s): No. Optional Achievement(s): Yes (12 achievements). Difficult Achievement(s): No. Intro The Last Door - Collector's Edition consisted of the first four episodes of an episodic point-and-click game with a horror theme. Each episode will continue from the previous one to paint the full story. Pros: - Puzzles difficulty is just right; not too difficult, not too hard - A lot of jumpscares that will surprise you with…

Knocking out horror games on Halloween & this has it all... secret societies, vampires, beautiful muses, crazy geniuses, odd gravediggers, old timey guys, and it was fun to explore! I initially looked at the blurry pixels and thought I wouldn't be into the game as I could barely see it, but it works well enough and allows you to put your own imaginative details on the cast. The music is a definite high point, this classical score adds drama and beauty to every scene. I did a chapter per…

The Last Door feels like someone took a Victorian horror novel, dunked it into a pixel-art blender and somehow the result still manages to crawl under your skin. The atmosphere is so thick you could spread it on toast. Sound design? Absolutely carrying the team. The puzzles occasionally gave me that classic adventure game moment of staring at my screen like a confused raccoon, but nothing rage quit worthy. If you enjoy slow burn horror that whispers in your ear instead of screaming in your…

Six Pixels, One Violin, Zero Chill Season One feels like someone dared someone who has only ever seen furniture through Sears catalog scans to code “fear” using only MS Paint and whatever violin sample came free with Audacity. Every room looks like Ikea furniture rendered by a stroke victim, and somehow your brain still goes, “Cool, this is where the ghosts eat us.” The gameplay is less “interactive experience” and more “digital self-harm ritual.” You click something. It ignores you. You…

I remember playing this game on Kongregate back in the day, when Flash games were plentiful. The minimalist graphics are great, but the story or puzzles are nothing special. It's just a few short episodes that are alright to play through. 2 playthroughs, 16/16 achievements.

The only game I've ever played to properly capture the true 'fear of the unknown' quality of Lovecraftian horror. No guns, no generic tentacles, no jump scares... just a winding, labyrinthine story of dread, madness and dark science. Oh and the score kicks raw ass.

I remember playing these games when they were free browser episodes and were still being released, thinking one day I will have adult money and pay to play this whole series. I am really glad that I found these again and now get to see the story to its conclusion. Great story, great puzzles, great game.

You wouldn't expect much looking at the store page, but this game absolutely nails atmosphere. This is a short experience, but a well crafted one. Even if you don't like point and click games, if you enjoyed games like resident evil or silent hills this is for you.

The gameplay itself is extremely convoluted and important items for story progression often blend into the background. certain parts are also extremely tedious and time wasting due to contentedness and general slow character. I understand wanting to pace the game but having an option to at least speed up walking would be nice.

Don't get me wrong, this game was great and the story and immersion was top. However, I certainly cannot understand why they decided to make it with these 40-year old graphics. Ok, I get you cannot/need to do it with top notch graphics, fair enough, but really, do you have to do it in such a way where you actually are not even able to distinguish or tell apart objects, or recognize what things or people are because they are so pixeled?

A short narrative point and click that leans heavily into its atmosphere. I felt that jangly jumpscare chords were used too much and it took away from the oppressive dread that most of the game has, which is unfortunate since that is its strongest point. The puzzles are mostly fine and not very complicated.

Probably a harsh call, but I don't feel like recommending this game...mostly because of the subpar execution on the art direction that never stopped being distracting, to me --- So this is what the masterminds behind the amazing Blasphemous were doing...well the art was not there yet, that is clear. I know this reads like a d*ckish statement (and I'm not going to stop there); but for the life of me, I cannot figure out what they were thinking with this pixel art. Every clue I can gather…

I overall liked the game but was not blown away by it either. I liked the unique radically pixelated art style, the music and the gothic atmosphere. The story was ok but, for me, not really captivating and -especially towards the end- a bit overdramatic. The puzzles were overall ok, but not really thought-provoking or original. Some of them were also rather illogical with far-fetched solutions.

I remember I bought this game because I saw a YouTuber play it when I was a teenager, and I thought it reminded me of Edgar Allan Poe's writing. Now having played it, it truly does! You can see that the game took a lot of inspiration from classic horror, and I believe that the translation into the gaming genre was done really well. The story is intriguing and each chapter leaves you with an even bigger thirst to unravel the truth about what Devitt was REALLY up to in that boarding school.…

I first played The Last Door series years ago, and I still fire it up to replay, wishing that every time was the first time all over again. The sound design and music, the deceptively simplistic graphics, the plot that knits itself into a map of questions and answers and more questions --- I've never experienced another game quite like it, let alone one that can top it. Admittedly I dropped it before finishing. The music, setting and atmosphere is very nice in this game. I then realised it was Carlos Viola doing the music, the guy who did Blasphemous 2's score. Talented man. I like that this point and click doesn't resort to logic puzzles and is just about exploring, reading and combining items (well, with at least one exception). I stopped 3/4 of the way through the game. One thing that would have helped was if it was voice acted. It is a good…

Played these games when they were flash games, loved the series and would recommend it to those who love Eldritch Horror but don't want to just face off against the basic Lovecraft deities. On top of that the horror is probably the closest I'd call to subtle, little to no jump-scares and mostly a mounting dread of what could be around the corner. The story is close to quite a few Eldritch horror stories. Though the description is wrong, you're not trying to stop the horror but trying to figure…

Good, with very little in the way of "moon logic'. I appreciate the episodic nature of it as it let me go through it in a few short sessions without feeling like I was stopping in the middle of something. My one gripe is that it's not a complete story on it's own, not even close. If I didn't have season 2 already I would be more put out but I still have to run that to see any kind of conclusion to what's happening, so take that into account if you decide to pick this up. Interesting story, beautiful attention to detail, and great puzzles. Just enough weird plus spooky. What makes this point and click special is it keeps the adventure vibe with the exploration and puzzles but doesn't fall into the trap of obscure logic to fill in some play time that other point and clicks do. Really good short and effective horror game. A little bit Lovecraft and a little bit King in Yellow-- I can't wait to play the sequel and get some more answers! My biggest critique is that it's hard to see what items are clickable sometimes because of the low pixel density (I missed a few that are literally only a pixel or two large), but the puzzles are generally forgiving and the areas are small enough that you won't waste much time backtracking. Great music, nice atmosphere, something edgar alan po like, it even startaled me couple of times, puzzles is allright (nothing difficult, but some times you can think, that you can not do something), but visualy it is somewhat lacking. I do not mind pixel artstile, but here it is more pixels, than art in a lot of cases. But still it is a nice dark atmospheric not quite horror quest with great music, if you can give some slack to visuals, and like mystical quests, so why not try it.
