The Land Before Time
An orphaned brontosaurus named Littlefoot sets off in search of the legendary Great Valley. A land of lush vegetation where the dinosaurs can thrive and live in peace. Along the way he meets four other young dinosaurs, each one a different species, and they encounter several obstacles as they learn to work together in order to survive. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Don Bluth also did The Land Before Time, the movie about orphan baby dinosaurs and one scary T. Rex; and The Secret of NIMH, whose plot about a widowed mother trying to help her kid survive pneumonia will even traumatize the parents!
unlabelledView post →Tree stars from The Land Before Time :') I love a subtle movie tribute tat
unlabelledView post →Here's some concept art from The Land Before Time. This will always be one of my favorite Don Bluth films because of how sweet it is and how strong the Bambi influence is in this film.
unlabelledView post →Longtime followers already know how I feel about The Land Before Time, but I wrote some words anyway. Much like Jurassic Park, no other film in its franchise comes close to the depth of the first. Also, I complain about a guy I once read calling the franchise "woke". letterboxd.com/marzgurl/fil...

unlabelledView post →Age yourself with a film you saw in the cinema as a kid. Of course I cried. I’ll always cry. A museum once had be do a talk directly after showing The Land Before Time and I was half wrecked before I even said hello. I cried a little just writing the post.

unlabelledView post →The 1st movie I can remember seeing ever was The Land Before Time (i.e. be prepared talk to your kids about death of parents & coping with loss). Oh no. Someone might have to explain gay ppl. golly gee. ( in reality the kids are gonna need therapy cuz their parents are Like That about queer ppl)
unlabelledView post →So I’ve talked a lot about how many of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park franchise never would have interacted because they lived at different times. Right well, you know another popular dinosaur movie that has dinosaurs living together that didn’t? The Land Before Time. 👇👇

unlabelledView post →This is a skill that has never been useful for me because I thought, "Now I know how to cry if I'm in a play or movie", but the opportunity has never arisen once in my life and instead I've become a self-inflicted sleeper agent whenever someone brings up the first The Land Before Time Movie.
unlabelledView post →Sometimes I think about how the Land Before Time had 14 movies, and like. That was an incredibly odd era of direct to video sequels. I like dinosaurs, and kid me enjoyed them up until about movie 7, but 14 is a lot.

unlabelledView post →The Land Before Time was the first movie I ever saw in a theater when it was released in 1988 when I was in first grade. It’s had a huge impact on me throughout my life.
unlabelledView post →Happy 35th birthday to the movie franchise that sparked my love for dinosaurs, The Land Before Time! Littlefoot, Cera, Spike, Ducky, Chomper & Petrie will always have a special place in my heart.

unlabelledView post →When making The Land Before Time, Don Bluth and Steven Spielberg argued over whether the film was too scary–at the same time, the movie broke new ground in depicting (most) dinosaurs as lovable children rather than monsters. Let's discuss!

unlabelledView post →Sirāt throbbed. Apparently The Cars That Ate Paris made an impression on Kubrick. I can see why. (Alex’s joy ride.) I chuckled through The Land Before Time. The height of the nadir of 80s animation. Varda’s film has great cat/kitten acting & street scenes. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched
unlabelledView post →No way 🤩🤩 there have The Land Before Time. It my all time favourite film this is going to be a good fight 🤩🤩
unlabelledView post →I will never allow my cat to watch The Land Before Time. He shouldn’t have to spend his entire life trying to get over that movie. THE CYCLE ENDS NOW
unlabelledView post →I love Letterboxd because where else will you find a review of The Land Before Time that describes it, a kid’s movie from the 80s, as “emotionally manipulative”

These almost always consist only of recent low-to-mid-tier CG films, but occasionally there's something interesting. Once Cinemark showed 'Little Nemo' of all things

unlabelledView post →There’s a whole pop culture meme about being traumatized by Bambi in a way that you don’t hear about The Lion King, and the fact that the whole movie is about dealing with grief, guilt, and the aftermath of that event is probably why. Similar for The Land Before Time.

unlabelledView post →Me and Derpy are rewatching The Land Before Time. Fluttershy joined this movie night. She might get scared, so we'll be comforting each other. Flutters and I both find baby Littlefoot to be absolutely adorable. Littlefoot's cute for the entire movie, but the yawn he does as a baby fills me with joy.

unlabelledView post →There are lots of movies I enjoy the ORIGINAL in all its artistic glory. But did you know The Land Before Time was supposed to be one film? That the sequels share almost none of the same crew? Yeah. Greed is ugly.
unlabelledView post →If the Land Before Time remake rumor I saw is true, then I'm about to enter my movie critic arc hardcore. I'd not be the dinosaur addicted nerd that I am today without the OG film.
unlabelledView post →What movie made you ugly cry? (The Land Before Time is still my number 1 pick, but seeing this as a kid with my late gram in the theater after we finished reading the book together was a once in a lifetime weep-a-thon experience)
unlabelledView post →(Also seeing The Land Before Time in theatres when it was new is one of my very first memories, and it's so eerily vivid it's like I can just teleport back through time. Technically Oliver & Co. was my first movie, but I had ZERO memory of it. Petrie and Spike are very special to me tho)
unlabelledView post →Couldn't sleep all night, so when the sun rose, I watched The Land Before Time III. Compared to the previous movie, I consider III to be an improvement. TLBT III tackles some pretty mature themes. Near the end, almost all the trees in the Great Valley are burnt due to a fire.
unlabelledView post →Don Bluth, the absolute GOAT. He told hard stories, scared kids, made kids cry, feel tension and fear, anger, and joy. The Land Before Time is one such film that makes you feel all sorts of emotions.
unlabelledView post →It's no secret that I love The Land Before Time, it's one of the greatest animated films of all time. The story's emotional, animation looks gorgeous, music is beautiful, voice acting is very well-done, and the characters are wonderful. Such an amazing movie, nothing short of a masterpiece.
unlabelledView post →So, I watched The Land Before Time for the first time in almost a decade. Oh, wow, as an adult, this film resonated with me more than when I was a kid. I haven't cried this much in a long time, not even my Derpy plushie could stop the tears. Though, there were still plenty of heartwarming moments.
