Summoned by his dying father, Miyagi returns to his homeland of Okinawa, with Daniel, after a 40-year exile. There he must confront Yukie, the love of his youth, and Sato, his former best friend turned vengeful rival. Sato is bent on a fight to the death, even if it means the destruction of their village. Daniel finds his own love in Yukia's niece, Kumiko, and his own enemy in Sato's nephew, the vicious Chozen. Now,… From TMDB

It was originally planned as the ending for the first film, although it was not shot until the second film's production began. (Wikipedia) 🖤

My parents were shocked when I chose to see KKII over Aliens, but I don't think I can ever articulate what an eye-opener KKII was to 11 year-old me

unlabelledView post →Here's the wildest part: Cetera originally wrote Glory of Love for Rocky IV. Stallone's team passed on it. Too soft for a boxing movie, apparently. Weeks later, The Karate Kid Part II scooped it up. Rocky's loss became one of the most iconic movie themes of the '80s.
