The Great Escape
The Nazis, exasperated at the number of escapes from their prison camps by a relatively small number of Allied prisoners, relocate them to a high-security 'escape-proof' camp to sit out the remainder of the war. Undaunted, the prisoners plan one of the most ambitious escape attempts of World War II. Based on a true story. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Did you know: from Canadian History Ehx: The Great Escape movie pretty much removed all Canadian involvement (and British involvement) in what actually happened in World War II. #Canada It very much exaggerates how involved the Americans actually were. Must watch. youtube.com/shorts/CEVTx...

There's still a part of me that sees a Bond film, or The Great Escape, or some such, on a normal Thursday afternoon on an ITV repeat channel, and my brain thinks "This is wrong. This is a special kind of film that should only be broadcast at Easter, Christmas, or on a bank holiday"

He was in classics such as The Great Escape (1963), You Only Live Twice (1967), and Halloween (1978). #OnThisDay #botd

It's impossible to be more of a man than James Garner in that film: stealing from and swindling your Nazi captors, taking your blind friend with you on a blitz-out. Peak masculinity.
