I searched for “The Family Stone”. It’s on Hulu… I switch to Hulu, guess what the most popular Christmas movie is on there? Fuckin’ “Elf”!

positive · AI labelView post →First time watching The Family Stone… this movie is deranged
negative · AI labelView post →The Family Stone (2005) 🎬🎄❤️ Directed by Thomas Bezucha
neutral · AI labelView post →About to watch my first Christmas movie of the 2025 holiday season. Tonight’s merriment movie is “The Family Stone”. Grumpy old lady review to follow.
neutral · AI labelView post →Diane Keaton. This is my favorite movie of hers The Family Stone. My Sister made me watch this, and said: "Yes it's chick flick adjacent, shut up, you'll love it." A lot of amazing roles (crappy taste in men, ew woody allen.) I had no idea what was happening and cried like a babeh Shark.
positive · AI labelView post →#5albums70s4 Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Going On (1971) you all know how good this album is but check out @questlove.bsky.social film The Summer Of Soul (2021) to see them in blistering and unpredictable live action. This predates the album, but they are both cultural touchstones
neutral · AI labelView post →Sad news about Diane Keaton. So many good movies. Personally, I will always be grateful for her role in The Family Stone, the only major film I've seen to show a flat mastectomy closure in a thoughtful and accurate way. It is a brief scene, but it matters.
positive · AI labelView post →Evening Richard, here's my #5albums50s60s5 1) The Zombies - O & O 2) Sly & the Family Stone - Stand 3) Country Joe & the Fish - Electric Music... 4) Can - Monster Movie 5) Skip Spence - Oar The Beatles & The Doors just missed out, though I'm sure they'll do OK. Have a great weekend 🍻

It's spiky but warm, full of great performances and is extremely funny. Watched it two years in a row now, and it really holds up.

neutral · AI labelView post →For some reason I only like SAD seasonal songs? "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Wish I Had a River" (absolutely counts), soulful versions of "Auld Lang Syne." I feel like all of this is tangentially related to my favorite xmas movie being THE FAMILY STONE...
positive · AI labelView post →Been drowning in freelance work all December (everyone pray for 2025 to be the year of a new full-time job for me 🙏) and have barely been able to get into the Christmas spirit it feels like, but I am finally embarking on the first movie in my annual Christmas rewatch list: The Family Stone
neutral · AI labelView post →I am watching The Family Stone to kick off my holiday movie viewing. Yes, I will laugh and I will cry. As I do every time.
positive · AI labelView post →“The Family Stone” was such an important film to me in my youth. Diane Keaton as the matriarch in the film was a defining movie mom for me. There’s so much to say about Diane Keaton, & I’m certainly not the best to memorialize her. But damn, I’m so sad. RIP to the legendary Diane Keaton.
positive · AI labelView post →They should add Sylvester Stallone to the cast and call it SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE
neutral · AI labelView post →#5albums50s60s5 1) Sly & the Family Stone - Stand! 2) CAN - Monster Movie 3) Miles Davis - Kind of Blue 4) The Zombies - Odessey & Oracle 5) Rolling Stones - Beggar’s Banquet HM: Mingus x5, Songs of L. Cohen, Bringing it All Back Home, Revolver
neutral · AI labelView post →I wrote this in 2022 & I still stand by it: The Family Stone is one of my very favorite Christmas movies. It’s funny, heartwarming, & a touch subversive. And with Diane Keaton’s passing, it’s even more poignant. Merry-Bittersweet Christmas: www.thebulwark.com/p/the-case-f...

positive · AI labelView post →Family movie night #nw The Family Stone 💍🎄❤️
neutral · AI labelView post →Avoiding the news as much as I can. So as diversion watched The Family Stone again. Sad to watch a bit since Diane Keaton is dying from breast cancer in it. But still it's a great fun movie and I needed distraction.
positive · AI labelView post →Every year, I hold a mirror up to my family, i.e., make them watch The Family Stone, a movie about a bunch of hyperjudgmental people. What's your favorite uncomfortable holiday watch? www.avclub.com/avqa-favorit...
positive · AI labelView post →The Family Stone is going to hit very different this year. And it was already the only Christmas movie to consistently make me cry
positive · AI labelView post →TV at the car dealership is showing The Family Stone. For more than a decade, this thoroughly average movie, which my wife and I saw in the theater, has been the standard by which I will or will not watch a movie. It has a 6.3 IMDB rating. I will not watch a movie below the Family Stone rating.
neutral · AI labelView post →Yes she was great in everything. I watch the Family Stone movie every Christmas, this year will be especially sad.
positive · AI labelView post →The way “The Family Stone” ends is outrageous, but imma stick beside it cause I love this movie.
