What people are saying
Mixed reception: fun driving with major bugs, especially AI traffic.
Many players enjoy the driving and graphics, but find the game frustrating due to bugs. The AI traffic often stops at green lights and pedestrians behave erratically, ruining immersion. [1][11][18][25][29]
Some players say the game has been abandoned by developers who focus on DLC instead of fixes. Performance issues and lack of immersion are also criticized. [21][22][28][34]

60 of 218 · most liked firstWorst €8 I’ve ever spent. I played for 30 minutes and the game crashed 3 times. Driving with the G29 feels awful. The ai drivers are completely brainless: they stop at green lights, run red lights and then stop in the middle of junctions, swerve into your lane, and can’t use roundabouts properly. And the last “big” update was in september—so about 7–8 months ago
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great concept, terrible execution. Honestly feels like a mobile game at best. looks like it has probably been abandoned now too. don't waste your money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Any city driving game where the traffic in front of you refuses to move when the lights turn green is bad enough. Add in the fact that this can penalise jobs for you because you have to u-turn or drive illegally to avoid this! And then the pedestrians just walk in front of you at every crossing! The game is now abandoned so avoid this unfinished asset slop.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trash simulator, plain and simple; do NOT buy. Revisited this game after purchasing months prior, in the hopes improvements would have been implemented. The game is worse than I remember. Vehicle mechanics on the outset are worthless; the car guns it or hard stops, the car turns immediately upon any input. Clearly the devs didn't put any effort into actually optimizing keyboard play. NPC drivers absolutely ruin the game; stopping when unnecessary, blocking intersections, not moving when they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games gets very boring and repetitive after a few hours. The map is also kinda small. I think it would be better if the devs allowed fans to post mods in the workshop, it can add some needed refreshment to the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent graphics but the game is unplayable because of one major reason which the developers do not seem willing to fix. AI cars constantly sit at green traffic lights refusing to move. Fix this and I am sure more people will purchase the dlc. It is hard to play this game because of this. The cars do not move at all and as the streets are so narrow, it is often impossible to pass, so I just quit and play something else. It is a shame because there could be a good game here. But the devs do…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a drving simulation game that has the potential to be great, the devs instead focuses on DLC cars to sell rather make the game more compeling. Skins and cars are not what the majority of the players of this game wants but rather immersion. No track IR, no Simhub for telemetry, can't even adjust the camera to a fixed position, no multi-moitor support, etc.. A good portion of the player base have sim or racing hardwares that they would very much like to use with this game and car models/skins…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Like the open world of this game & just driving. Great Graphics aswell & driving feels fine except for the Electric car. Its fun but there are problems that make the unfun. - Cars sitting at a green light - Cars sitting at a pedestrian walkway for way to long when there are no pedestrians. - Cars stopped in the middle of the road weather on single roads, two ways & highways. - Some couple of the small roads AI just sit there cause they don't know what to do. (♥♥♥♥ like this does happen IRL…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice concept, but NEEDS improvement. - Car stops at a green light - Pedestrian appears out of nowhere
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was gifted Taxi Life, so I can finally check how did the game turn out in the end, considering that they tried to headhunt me some time ago. ...oh, that's a good start.
unlabelledView post →When you first fire the game up and play the tutorial, you'll likely find the vehicle mechanics satisfying and smooth. I expected to be sucked into the sim, tooling around a 1:1 version of the city I spent my honeymoon in. Instead, I'm frustrated by incredibly annoying and stupid bugs, as well as inept AI that makes this experience feel like a chore. Here are some examples: - my car randomly shuts off while driving, and especially when at lights. This seems to be because it interprets…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun for a few hours, but it has a lot of bugs, like AI getting stuck, the engine constantly stalling not only when I mess up and don’t use the clutch when stopping, but also sometimes even when I’m at full throttle. The steering wheel also occasionally starts doing its own thing or behaves strangely
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should've been fine with the driving. However, the game is full of glitches. From cars not moving despite the green light causing unnecessary traffic to flying cars coming out of nowhere. It's getting ridiculous. I hope the devs fix this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game overall is good but it has many bugs. A major one is cars just randomly stopping in the middle of road and won't keep going, it's caused me so much trouble and ruins the fun of the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →already a dead game, it's a pity due to its potential: no more updates in a early stage is scandalous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken, Client Patience goes down well to quick, Cars don't move at green light, Pedestrians cross the road and then do a 360 and cross again or cross half the road and then turn back. Cars crash into you easily. I hadn't played the game for months, so thought i'd give it another go and I can see why I hadn't played it for months. Big Update Needed. If all of those things get fixed it has the potential to be a really really good game and is a good game how you can drive round in a Taxi and pick…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn't recommend buying this game. It is not worth your money at full price due to its bugs. I can't really put a good/bad list here since I don't have enough material for that. The traffic AI is so buggy, it literally makes the game unplayable, which is why I only have 3 hours in it. The AI traffic might occasionally: - Brake check you in an 80 km/h zone for no reason - Stop at road crossings and never drive off even with pedestrians disabled completely - Gridlock a whole intersection,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just casual taxi drive is the only thing I enjoy in this slop, yep that's it. No one cares about the optimisation of the game itself, I turned on ultra graphics, yet it looks like something from early 2010s, and the FPS is as low as 29 FPS on a 4060, i9-13900H laptop. Traffic AI is another thing I suffered too much, those AI crashing, not following traffic signs are just a piece of iceberg, they literally stand still forever in front of some pedestrian crossings, and I have to reset the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The A.I have somehow gotten worse and now just sit at traffic lights indefinitely. This used to happen occasionally but now it's every other set of lights. It could of been a good game and still could be if the A.I gets fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Taxi Life doesn't give the best first impressions: Cutscene cameras are stuttery, TAA smear is everywhere, the entire game looks kind of plastic and sterile - basically any "staple" UE4 issue you can think of is there. Barcelona looks pleasing though, and should be fun to cruise around.
unlabelledView post →Worst game ever,,, lagging frozzing dropping dont buy it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visually impressive but uneven experience great for relaxed driving fans, yet held back by weak AI and technical issues. I did what I could but in the end I go bored sorry devs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great map and graphics, but the game feels empty. The unlicensed cars look like they belong in a budget mobile game, and the gameplay gets boring fast. I really tried to get into it, but I couldn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its cute, but its far from a good driving sim. G29+shifter and there appears to be no engine breaking, stalling is inconsistent, accelerator has no range: at some point its either does nothing or floors it to what feels in the range of 20-25% of its actuation, regardless of how much i change its sensitivity in settings, and cruise control makes the car hop around like its suffering from hiccups. Looking at the videos it seems to have a lot of systems i haven't even touched, but i bough this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is your favorite thing in the world to stand in a car queue in rush hour with other cars that dont know how to drive? And constantly wait for a green light so even more queues? And being shouted at from your customer in the backseat? Then this is the game for you. Totally hopeless in every way. Even the wheel support is terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-- CAUTION: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME -- Taxi Life had a lot of potential, but in its current state it feels more frustrating than enjoyable. The biggest issue is the number of bugs that can completely ruin the experience. NPCs and traffic sometimes behave unpredictably, passengers can glitch out, navigation can break, and random issues can appear during normal gameplay. Instead of focusing on driving and building your taxi business, you end up dealing with problems that pull you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The optimization is terrible. Constant frame drops, stuttering, and inconsistent performance make the game unplayable. This is happening on an RTX 5070 with an i5-12400F, so the issue is clearly with the game, not the hardware. It's disappointing to see a game released in such a broken state. Avoid it until the developers fix these issues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i was stoked about this game, until it loaded and i saw around 8 different character options to chose from but there were no female options. very disappointing, but the gameplay is fine. the bugs and lag can be annoying, but you can call the police for laggy drivers just sitting in the road, and turn off crash and traffic malfunction settings. not worth it full price, but fun at a discount
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Promising idea, but poor AI, buggy mechanics, and laggy performance make driving a chore rather than fun. Score: 🚕❌ = 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameno longer maintained by the developer, yet still so many bugs and weird pedestrians behavior that (most likely) will never be fixed. Such a big scam that they gave us last update so many months ago in 2025...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has many bugs. One of them being that cars in front of me won’t move even though nothing is blocking them so I have to drive around them on the pavement, making me crash many cars in the meantime.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never cared about simulator games before, then i played this game at a friends house. next day i bought a Moza R5 bundle. A lot of fun to drive around the city, its nice but very small. traffic ai was alright for the most part. my biggest problem with the game has to be there is no immersion. I would have liked a few coughs here or there, or maybe a cellphone going off in the back. If there are more people in your car, they start talking a little bit, that would have been nice.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont waste your money. the ai is awful, the cars constantly get stuck at cross walks, the people crossing the walks go back and forth and if they walk into your car, you get punished. the customers lose patience even though there is nothing you can do to get the cars moving. you try going around gta style and they leave and you get a "failed task" note. theres almost no sound, no female representation at all, you cant hear the car, no vibration in controller to give feedback. no screenshake…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some good things about the game, but the AI ruins the experience. I can't recommend it. As other reviews have noted, the AI cars crash into each other or just stop at intersections and sometimes never move again. The people literally stand on the side of the road and wait until you're about to pass before stepping into the road - and I mean to say that the game is designed that way! Pedestrians enter crosswalks just as the lights are about to turn green, and sometimes freeze in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REFUNDED!! The game works flawlessly... right up until I connect my PXN V9 Gen2. Apparently, my wheel's greatest feature is unlocking a hidden PowerPoint mode. The game starts stuttering every 2–5 seconds, and each freeze lasts anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds. Yes, I actually counted them because there wasn't much else to do. Each stutter gave me enough time to count every single one, reflect on my life choices, question my purchase, and convince my unemployed self to finally get a job. Heck,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The most du*mb sh*t AI... and the worst off all.. no improvement made by dev bcz they all busy adding DLC. i cursed more in this game than during my driving irl.. the game itself is great, control, atmosphere, and ect. the only major turn off is the traffic which most of them are driving like a bumper car and the npc are insurans fraud that will crossing right infornt of your car. what the dissapointed game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very laggy and has several things wrong with it. One especially being that the NPC drivers will stop at a green light and cause major traffic and you will have no other choice but to go around them and cause accidents. This has happened to me numerous times since I've had the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game still sucks. They couldnt even get driving right in a game all about driving. It keeps pulling to to left or right if you do normal correction. I cant give a review the other features due to driving being so awful that i couldnt drive to do them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From someone that plays a lot of driving based simulators I sadly can not recommend the game in its current state. After giving it another go recently the driving remains way too rough for my liking, tweaking the settings did not help to fix the issues. And I played every kind of driving sim you can think of (police, racing, bus, etc...). I really wish there was a mixed steam review algorithm but this game is definitely worth it only when on sale. Its fun to kill a couple of hours but nothing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually really find myself enjoying this game, even though it has issues. My main problem with the game is that the pedestrians just walk out into the road and the cars just randomly stop and refuse to move, trapping you in a place when there's no way to find your way through. I've been stuck like this for ten minutes in real life. There's a thing you can do, calling the cops to move them. Does feel a little weird though. I do find the game fun and would really love this game, not just like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not optimized. I just bought it, tried to play and i have a lot of lag, idk what happens, i switch settings to low, and there is a very very small difference in my FPS, like, i changed the resolution too but still the same problem, i don't recommend playing this game, not until they optimize it right
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Improvements needed: 1) Speed limits are too low, and car speeds up too fast. Speed limits often change drastically. Max 30 should be 50, 50 should be 70 and 70 should be 90 at least. These are the speed LIMIT, the maximum allowed, not "the average recommended" and it's quite low at the moment. 2) Pedestrians crossing the roads out of nowhere and often hitting your car from the side, like they literally walk into your car from the side and you get penalty for hitting them. Pedestrian movements…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✧. ┊ Do I reccommend this game? ┊ ┊ ⋆˚ My Score Currently: 7/10. Pros: If you're looking for a driving game you can get lost in, This is perfect for it - It doesn't get too repetitive due to unlocking new cars etc. The UI Is easy to manage. The control's are straight-forward. The tutorial isn't too lengthy and it's easy to grasp and remember. Cons: The bugs, Sadly this game is quite buggy still, My PC has no issue with running the game itself. Car's randomly stop out of nowhere, It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, Taxi Life is a game where you’re supposed to drive people around and make money… but it feels like the real challenge is driving your FPS counter instead. I’m running this thing on an R5 5600 and an RX 9060 XT 16GB, and somehow, I’m barely scraping 60 FPS. Seriously, it’s like the game has a side hustle — stealing frames per second from your GPU while pretending to be a simulator. Final verdict: 2/10 — fun concept, but until they patch it, you’ll spend more time waiting for frames than for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so unpolished it gives me pain.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →quite good stopped playing for a while but the only problem is the npcs they some times dont move while in traffic or break check u otherwise its quite good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gaming is super realistic, after 10 minutes driving through Barcelona I was already shouting at the traffic and pedestrians... 10/10 experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an alright game. It has potential to be great, but it's held back by bugs and a lack of progression. Would recommend purchasing if on sale (like I did), but not when at full price as it is not worth the ~£30 they charge, still very fun though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a really good game if u have steering wheels and pedals its very fun but it can get boring quite fast yes i would recommend if u like car game and have a steering wheel/pedals
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very specific recommendation, for a very specific group. The game works perfectly in VR, and if you have a beefy PC the visually are stunning in VR to (by injecting VR with UEVR - if you have a VR headset and don't know what UEVR is - well, it opens up your Steam library to be playing hundreds of games in VR - if the game is Unreal engine - just go to Youtube and search 'UEVR tutorial' - it is a very simple process). So, worth playing in VR for the total immersion (Vehicle based…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game can be fun. Played for 2 hours and noticed a couple of bugs like traffic not moving and npc's just walking straight in to the car. buy when on sale. Have to give a bad review until bugs are fixed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess, feels like alpha game. Car mechanics feels wonky and too fast to make precise movements. AI cars are weird and vanish for no reason. No red light tickets, no speeding tickets, odd pickup points of customers on the pedestrian sidewalk. Tried to refund it, but am past 2 weeks sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has good graphics, detailed damage textures on the body after a crash, handling , and more. However , it also has other flaws. If I were to mention two of them , This matter concerns traffic and pedestrians. Description: 1. The traffic froze at the red light and didn’t move even when it turned green, which caused my passenger to cancel. 2. The pedestrians while walking, decide to jump in front of my car (almost as if they intend to hurt themselves 🗿). Thank you 🌹.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have really enjoyed playing this game, with a few issues mentioned at the end. Many of the frustrations I have seen expressed, regarding pedestrians with a death wish and never ending traffic jams are not wrong, but in general I think these things match the real frustrations of driving sometimes. That is where the fun starts in this world, you can do things you wish you could do IRL. I think some of these "frustrations" are intentional, to force us to get creative and a little crazy with our…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The traffic drive like they were never programmed to drive in city driving game. But i do think the game is decent it has alot of redeeming features. (But i do recommend to get it when its on sale)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bruh how do you even leave so many bugs, your game has more issues than my life, what testing are yall doing before release this game i need to know so I can avoid it. Could be very fun but so many weird issues just killed the whole process. Why do you have so many cars not moving before an intersection w green light and no traffic, what are they waiting for, giving birth to baby cars?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is good, but you really need a wheel and pedals. Otherwise, it's just not fun. And only buy it on sale
