60 of 254 · most liked firstIf you’re looking for a relaxed, light-management tavern sim where you can set your own pace, customize your space, and enjoy the steady growth of your business, Tavern Master delivers well. It shines best in its early and middle stages, when expansion and unlocking feel rewarding. However, if you prefer deep strategy, tough challenge, or extremely detailed management mechanics (e.g., intricate staff systems, tight resource constraints, high-stakes decisions), this might leave you wanting.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As many other reviews have said, the game starts out fun but quickly becomes a grind. There is not enough content or variation to keep playing. And you have to grind for ages to get to the end of the game but with little to actually do in the game so it is not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely like this game a lot. It’s relaxing, simple, and lets you do a lot with a little while running smoothly. The visuals are nice, the music fits the atmosphere, and I have no real complaints about the gameplay itself. So why the negative review? The game appears to use a single autosave slot, and as far as I can tell, this is never clearly communicated to the player. I spent over a dozen hours building a tavern using only the autosave because I had no reason to think I needed manual…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's not much content after 20 hours of gameplay. The same thing over and over again. Kinda boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its very easy to learn takes about 20 seconds. At first glance i thought it was a very simple and basic game lacking any sort of depth. But...its very relaxing, stress free game ideal for unwinding. What caught me off guard is its one of those games that just make you go "one more turn" then another and before you know it 6 hours have passed. Worth the purchase.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing Tavern Master for the last few hours and it's a delightful game. Really allows me to just zone out and have fun with building a cute tavern. Of course, things have to be on fire even in game fantasies... 😩
unlabelledView post →This is one of those games that I'd give a neutral rating if there was one. It's not bad, but it doesn't feel good either. More fun in the beginning, but starts feeling repetitive very quickly. It's fairly simplistic but still somewhat satisfying to serve customers and gradually increase your offerings. The game does have some nice features (like being able to instantly replace anything destroyed in a fire), but also some annoying/missing features so they sort of cancel each other out.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR - A lovely cosy game. Well worth the sale price. Could really use some refinement. I've enjoyed 80 hours of TM now and have quite a few thoughts. PROS: - Very cosy aesthetic with beautiful lighting; always lovely to look at. An enjoyable hobby for cold winter nights. - Simple but useful economy summary. - Fun service mechanics (kitchen layout etc). Getting it right is satisfying. - Nice automated refill features. CONS: - Not much to do once you complete everything. - Needs way more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is SO fun in the first 4 to 5 hours for someone who likes management games like me, HOWEVER the biggest thing that makes me not recommend this is the LATE game that is actually the middle game in which you just are in a constant grind of watching double speed people. there is "late game content" but its not actually really useful or good and overall doesn't even improve your game play experience, it felt like SUCH a good foundation but the mid to late game is a constant unending show…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting but ultimately in, my opinion, badly designed game. The creating Pub/tavern is fun but way too many features are locked. And some mechanics seem to be introduced later in the game then when needed (like toilets for some reason). Its supposed to be a somewhat relaxing and fun game. But after a while can feel very boring and monotomous. But most importantly too much things are locked. I may come back to it in the future but so glad i spent £2 on it. Its hard to recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels soulless and fails to capture what running a medieval tavern should feel like. Instead of immersive tavern management, you have videogame-y abstractions like a tech tree where you 'research' things like 'more guests per day'. Most of the time you just sit and do nothing, occasionally clicking on things and wishing for a faster speed setting. While the game is rather polished, it's too sterile and boring. It looks like a cozy tavern sim at a glance, but it's actually a bland…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Less than 8 hours of game play and money seems to become worthless as you are making too much of a profit each day. Its just a waiting game to unlock all the research and tasks. I ended up making the 4th level have 50 research desks just to fast track the research. Good to fill in a few hours when the game was on sale, only paid $4 for the game, but theres no way this game is worth the full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tavern Master is a fun little time killer with a simple but addictive pub management loop. I enjoyed it setting up the tavern, serving customers, and watching things grow is oddly satisfying. It does feel unfinished and pretty bare-bones, and after a while it doesn’t offer much depth. Great for killing spare time, but definitely doesn’t justify a full €15 price tag in its current state. Fun and chill, but too simple for the price 6/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tavern Master: I'm not downvoting the game, I had fun because I like tavern management type of games, I also enjoyed the music feasts of the past being my favourite. I'm disappointed by the use of AI not being mentioned on the store page, It goes against my core value of not using anything related to AI, In a world where AI is forced upon us, I would've liked having the choice of knowing before buying the game. I was going to buy Blacksmith Master but since Tavern Master uses AI I guess…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tavern Master 16 – 30+ hours to complete, Tavern Master is a building and tavern management simulation with three maps to build in, one being DLC. While I would not consider this ‘cozy’ it is pretty chill, as there are no time constraints and it’s very easy to play. You build a tavern which starts out small, and you expand on it overtime to add things to partially turn it into an innkeep, adding rooms, baths and beds that npcs can buy for the night. There are a lot of decoration options for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has potential, but it becomes an AFK game too quickly, and still you cannot really afk, since the game pause at certain notification. Most of the early gameplay is just clicking the "refill" button every day. At mid-game, there is nothing much more to do but afk every day to keep the research and mission going.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Foreword: I have been looking to play a tavern simulator for quite a while, and, despite my initial choice being that it was on sale, I decided to give Tavern Master a try. Aesthetics: This game oozes nostalgia for me. The graphics remind me of Runescape, which can be a good or bad thing. The stylistic choice of the game allows it to run on a wide range of systems, which is a good thing. The characters are very expressive, and you can choose to follow one around as it does its thing in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A chill management game to take your mind off your daily responsibilities. You primarily manage and upgrade your tavern, with most of the gameplay mechanics feeling intuitive and easy to pick up. The in-game tips do a good job of explaining the rest. There’s a wide variety of decorations and furniture to personalize your tavern and make it truly your own (though I haven’t used most of them). The first six hours were really enjoyable, but as I reached the end of the research tree and quests,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played whenever I wanted to chill, when I was stressed, or just wanted to kill time. For a game I bought for less than $3, I'd say it was money well spent for me. I highly recommend this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rate this game positively, even though it does not reach the quality of Blacksmith Master. One of its biggest highlights is the detailed customization of the Inn, both visually and functionally. It adds a great deal of depth to the game and allows for a high level of creativity in how you build and refine your space. The music and sound effects are fine and help create a calm and immersive atmosphere that complements the gameplay well. The main downsides are that in the late game the FPS…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Toilets are late game unlocks? What are my day one patrons to do? That and games need to be WAY sooner on the research tree. Having to unlock a 2nd kitchen is such a waste of time. It takes DAYS just to get ONE purple, this needs to be reworked. Game feels way too short without campaign chapters. Like, map 1 you only have a bar with two kegs and a tavern with 2 tables and thats all that can fit. and then expand in the next chapter. etc..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR Fun and short shop management sim with a top down perspective. It doesn't try to be ambitious but does what it wants to be pretty well. (Full review further down) ✅ Pros ❌ Cons Easy to learn and get into Base building is a nice addition to the shop management aspect Fun and engaging early game Meaningful progression Becomes somewhat cozy once you start generating a steady daily profit There’s always something to unlock or work toward You experience almost everything the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, yeah, its one of the best top down small business sim management games out there.... the only flaws is that you can mostly play the game with a mouse alone, except for refilling your kegs every night. for some reason they make you zoom in to do that unlike refilling any other stock, but then you have to press esc on the keyboard to get out of it. i had to put down my drink in my left hand every 3 minutes just to pres ESC!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, Tavern Master ended up being way more enjoyable than I expected. What started as a simple “let me try this for a bit” game somehow turned into an 11-hour tavern management addiction where I unlocked basically everything and packed my tavern to the absolute limit. 🍺✨ The game is just… cozy. It’s chill, relaxing, simple, and surprisingly satisfying to play. Watching your tiny tavern slowly turn into a crowded medieval money-printing machine scratches a part of the brain I didn’t even…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got all the achievements, and boy was it a grind. Early game struggle is fun. When it gets to late game though, its really boring. Dont get me wrong, the whole point of the game is to manage an inn and custimize it, but theres so much one can do, and so the gameplay got really repetitive. Apart from that, great game. One thing that I found interesting was the event function, which lets you diversify your customers. Aswell as different recipes, which can be leveled up. But theres literally…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My boo bought me this game. I 100% it after 35 hours. The game runs very well, smooth even during endgame grind. Cozy just decorating and let the staffs run wild. So many choice of decorations and fun achievements to do. Overall I love the game. Great work!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing and addictive light strategy. As others said, can be grindy and repetitive towards the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Due to a persisting stomachache there is a game change today! TAVERN MASTER! Come hang out while we build and manage a tavern! Decoration, managing workers, menus and more! #vtuber #streamer #cozygaming #wholesome twitch: www.twitch.tv/mama_dumpling_
unlabelledView post →It's a great game and does exactly what it promises. The management system, music and evolution are pretty good, but I do have critics. First of all, after you unlock the hotel features the game starts to feel slow and the only thing remaining it's just grinding until you get all the achievements and research. Alongside that, I think it could include more areas to explore (like a garden or something outside the tavern), since after about 5~ hours of gameplay, you get too used to just managing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the fence about this one. The idea is good, but the game gets very repetitive after a few hours of play. The game doesn't feel very optimised either. My computer was whirring the whole time. I recommend this game only if you are looking for something to click on while you are doing other things. It's very grindy. I wouldn't pay full price for it either. Achievement Hunters: Around twenty hours to unlock everything, although if you are super-organised it would finish quicker. Get the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game, for about 8 hours. I don't remember if I bought this on sale, but I hope I did. It's very simple, but once you get to a certain point, you're just going through the days as quickly as possible because you're waiting to upgrade things. I have only played one save on the base game, so I can't speak on the DLC, but it was fun while it lasted. If you're looking for something simple to get you through a day, try it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a lot more to this game than it seems from the basic description. It's mostly about optimization so if you like watching a scene play out and figuring out where you could move things, where the waitresses should stand when they are not working, when to hire new people and so on, this will totally be your jam. (otherwise no)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tavern Master: Beer, Bards and Bad Hygiene Regret: 16% (the toilets were never clean enough) You run a medieval tavern. You serve beer, cook stew, hire staff and try to keep the place clean enough that guests don't leave. They leave anyway, because someone forgot the toilets. It's a cozy little management game that's perfect for a lazy evening. 9 hours, and my tavern is legendary. Mostly for the smell. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game.. for a while. While there are enough cool gameplay mechanics and customization options to make the game interesting enough for a while, there isn't an end goal, apart from getting more and more money. Once you've completed all the research and gotten all the achievements, the only thing to do is uninstall and play something else. Not to mention that it takes quite a while of tedious, repetitive grinding to get the last 2-3 achievements... Also a shame that it hasn't been…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excelent game for IDLE. It is a different challenge every session, but after a while it is pretty much the same.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring, unintuitive, and slow. A combination of everything you don't need in a game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is bad day cure. Very cozy and beautiful game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Listen, it’s not my first time running a tavern. I’ve played tavern keeper, inn tycoon, and this game and this one is my new favorite. My only request is that I wish there was more furniture/decorations/color variants! I want a pastel pink barbie tavern please :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are better tavern games out there, but this one is easy to get into and start playing which is a quality of its own. If you just want to start your chill game without a big learning curve this'll do the trick.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was fun at first but very generic. starts out good but after a while the requirements for research become to much and i end up spending long stretches of time doing nothing waiting for the numbers to go up just for the research to not impact the game play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game reminds me of the old hotel games you would play on your chrome book at school. It's kind of janky and the way some things work just doesn't make sense. Like my kitchen counter catches fire and to build a new one I have to fire my chef? It's fun but that just slowed down my pacing and kinda ruined the game for me. If such a simple system is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ what other methods does this game use to waste your time down the road? I wouldn't buy this game a cent higher than the $2.99 sale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A time wasting game you can play to have some fun for a couple of hours, but a bit limited. Balance is not very well thought and there are a few immersion breaking things, but oh well it's cheap. Don't buy the DLC it's garbage. The gameplay loop and economy are horrible. It's pointless other than having more decorations which are also available in the regular game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really fun! -But... after some time i am not even playing, its just playing itself -It was really fun to hunt 80% of the achievements, but the rest was kinda annoying (not hard, just annoying) -There was a bug with my workers not going back to work after a fire, i found out i can fix it by saving and reloading again. Is it worth it? YES
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is very fun! I like playing with my dad!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game can be casual or strategic if you want it to be. There is something soothing about watching the characters wander around doing their jobs and interacting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is quite bad. Mechanics are generic and uninspired. It seems to be just an example of asset flip. I did play it extensively as study material (I'm a game developer) and I found some nuggets of enjoyment in it too. But do I recommend it to other people? not really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price it's definitely worth playing. There's balancing issues with the game though, the tech tree is a massive unnecessary grind, some food recipes are lock behind objectives forcing the player to collect at least 400 points to get access to all the events. To me it looks like the game was rushed at the finish line, it just makes no sense that the same developers can get so many things right and failed on realising it would take hours of doing nothing to unlock a game of Darts inside a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is simple, very casual, and so addictive. Can’t stop playing it! every time I think I’m done, I end up starting “just one more day.” Pushed my sleep time back to 12AM++ It’s a good game to relax but still keeps you hooked. Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game breaking bug at 21 hours in. All of my chefs became frozen and even with reloading the game, firing then rehiring, moving all the kitchen props around, and running through multiple days, they remain frozen. I have the recipes and all ingredients available and they're set to the right floors. They just stop doing anything. There have been other player reports of staff also being frozen in the stickied bug report forum.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game really feels like old school flash time management games and that also is just about how much content it has. Worth it at the discount price. Not worth the full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of the old Roller Coast Tycoon games - obviously with different objectives and goals, but similarly well-balanced conditions that make for an enjoyable experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unsatisying building, the only things that line up well are tables and benches, a bunch of other things are offset by half a block which could look good for some things but ends up looking like trash in most other ways.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really fun game where you get to manage a tavern. It gets a bit repetitive as you're aproaching the final researches, when all your workers are already max level, but it's nice and enjoyable to watch the tavern pretty much run itself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but for the love of god, put the desserts at the bottom of the menu list - makes no sense desserts being before soups and main courses.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no mods, which the game need it so much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its OK game, kinda fun at the beginning. But I don't get what devs tried to do with it. Tech tree does not make sense, esthetics do not match the management process, that is totally modern in the medieval design? It's not a sim, lots of processes of the hotel and restaurant are missing. Do not regret getting it on discount though :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One more day. Ok, one more. OH okay additional floor's unlocked, let's furnish it. One more... I have mixed feelings, it's sometimes boring but yet addictive. And the music is stuck in my head for DAYS now. Worth this price tho. :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has fun elements, but it's not super satisfying - there's not much customization and the mechanics are very simple. Unfortunately it ran out of playability for me pretty quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Buy if you enjoyed Blacksmith Master, like medieval theme games, business management sims, but know you will be grinding hard at end game for completionist achievements. Ok, I just beat the game after 22.5 hours of gameplay over about 3 days. I got this game because I LOVED Blacksmith Master and I have a love for both medieval games, and business management sims. Check out my review for Blacksmith Master to see my love for this genre. Now, this game is of course not Blacksmith…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a big fan of this type of game and have been looking for some that would scratch the management itch like the Two Point Series, Software Inc and a number of other games. This is not it. First of all the gameplay loop while initially pleasant is quite pedestrian, there is no real motive to researching, decorating and so on. The main driver is make sure you are set up well, fast forward for the day to end and accumulate some money so you can do some upgrades. Some may argue all management…
