Feels like there is an entire genre of movie that was meant to be seen in that format. You couldn’t make Swordfish (2001) today.
unlabelledView post →Speaking of Swordfish, imagine making a movie with a plot of “the us govt is secretly doing bank robberies to fund assasinating terrorists and that’s bad but also kind of awesome” that came out like months before 9/11. I remember seeing it in video stores with little trigger warning stickers on it.

unlabelledView post →If youre a young person, this movie is "Swordfish". The soundtrack was done by Paul Oakenfold. It is a wild pre 9/11 ride. And if you've never seen it you should absolutely check it out.
unlabelledView post →Last night it was Swordfish (01). Tonight let's see if we can top that with xXx (02). Overlooked at the oscars. An inspiration for a whole generation of filmmakers. Redefined how action movies were made. These are some things not said about this film.
unlabelledView post →I saw the movie Swordfish - real ones know that the only way to beat a terrorist, is with terrorism.
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is an incredibly stupid movie with an absolutely *bangin'* soundtrack.
unlabelledView post →Executives at Warner Bros. demanded the producers of Swordfish add Halle Berry to the film after test audiences reacted negatively to the scene of Hugh Jackman being forced at gunpoint to hack a computer while jacking off
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is a very bad movie... but its also incredible? like terrible wigged John Travolta's hacking test is "can Jackman hack the DOD WHILE BEING BLOWN OOOOOOOOO?"
unlabelledView post →Also, because it was playing on the tvs at the club, Swordfish is an underrated movie with lots of talent in it.
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is pretty bad but Jackman, Travolta, Berry, Cheadle? Talk about a stacked cast!
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is probably the worst movie I ever saw in a theatre (wasn’t my choice).

unlabelledView post →The Exploding Helicopter podcast returns! We're back to review techno thriller SWORDFISH (2001), a film where Hugh Jackman taps a keyboard, Halle Berry flashes her boobs, and John Travolta sports some truly bizarre facial hair. 🚁💥📽️ Listen wherever you get your pods!
unlabelledView post →This morning's movie was Swordfish, a very much post-Matrix (and Fight Club) but pre-911 movie. Yes, that's a very narrow slice of time and worldview, but I stand by it.
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is the anthesis of the enthusiastic, anti-establishment camp present in earlier hacker movies like Sneakers and Hackers; slick, with action film pretenses and reprehensible nationalist politics reminiscent of the cult of the operator. It is a harbinger of post-9/11 fascism.
unlabelledView post →At what point does the US security establishment actually say ‘hold on lads’ and deal with the threat within? Have none of these people watched 24, Swordfish, or any Jack Ryan movie?
unlabelledView post →Last night Korb and I watched Swordfish, which has been described as a hacker movie but really isn't much of one. However, it does feature Hugh Jackman writing large chunks of code by vigorously slapping the same small area of the keyboard. I prefer to think he just has amazing macros
unlabelledView post →Back in my video store days, a customer returned a movie – I think it was SWORDFISH? – and grimly joked, "Look, I hate women as much as the next guy, but..." I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
unlabelledView post →Last nights movie: Swordfish 🎬 Great popcorn flick with slick feel and clever (if somewhat nonsensical) story. One of my absolute favorite films 💖 Also an accurate depiction of what its like to be a programmer #filmsky #moviesky #gamedev
unlabelledView post →Say what you want about the “hacker”movie Swordfish, Paul Oakenfold ripped out a banger of a soundtrack.
unlabelledView post →The most gratuitous breast shot in any move is Halle Berry in Swordfish; the most gratuitous dong shot in any movie is Harvey Keitel in Bad Lieutenant.
unlabelledView post →Putting on Swordfish Throwback. Underrated film. 🤠
unlabelledView post →Halle been naked af on film several times but you can’t recognize the shape of her body? You saw Die Another Day, Swordfish, and Monsters Ball and thought her thighs EVER looked like that?
unlabelledView post →People are arguing about whether Swordfish is a good movie in my Mastodon mentions. Proof that being good at Linux isn't a useful gauge of intelligence.
unlabelledView post →Tonight I will watch Swordfish. So Hugh Jackman is in town but I’m skipping out on going to the thing so we’re watching a movie with him in it.

As a film director, Dominic Sena is best known for directing the films Kalifornia (1993), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), & Swordfish (2001). #OneHitWondered
unlabelledView post →Day 4 #DavidsMonthofMusic #MusicChallenge A song you love from a movie you don't STANLEY’S THEME Paul Oakenfold SWORDFISH was a pretty rubbish film (after the spectacular opening scene anyway), but the soundtrack is an absolute cracker, especially the Oakenfold originals youtu.be/9OQUzfrkFRQ?...
unlabelledView post →I think Swordfish was the most ridiculous hacking movie I ever saw. They all sound like they've never even seen a computer. Though I did get @mgreenephd.bsky.social to burst into laughter when I turned to her at one point and said "This movie has been brought to you by the hormone testosterone"
unlabelledView post →Pure evil stalking that room. If someone told me those were stills from a movie, I'd immediately think some kind of hostage movie like "Swordfish" except I wouldn't care for the hostages any more than the hostage takers.
unlabelledView post →Tonight's movie is Swordfish. It's 23 years old and I'm not okay with that.
unlabelledView post →Elon more than likely now controls the US Treasury. What admin access do they have, what malicious code could they inject into these systems to make the movie Swordfish theft look like it was done by a two dollar dime store hood. These are frightening developments.
unlabelledView post →I remember seeing the 7 screen set up in the movie Swordfish and wanting that so bad, despite not needing it
unlabelledView post →Ok we are trying Swordfish (2001) *despite* Travolta, because of Jackman, Berry, Jones, and that it's a hacker and heist movie Starting off EXTREMELY BADLY though, with an obnoxious movie rant monologue from Travolta's character
unlabelledView post →It's like the most depressing version of Swordfish, which is tough given how bad that film is.
unlabelledView post →And then Ginger gets into the speedboat and we see… Gabriel is still alive! And that’s the entire plot to the 2001 action/thriller film “Swordfish”.

unlabelledView post →We are going to need a Mossad-like force to track down all the US oligarchs that flee the US after they suck us dry. Musk at the top of the list. Perhaps like the movie Swordfish. Love that movie.

unlabelledView post →“Swordfish” Very funny movie. Enjoy!
unlabelledView post →I rewatched the climax of Swordfish recently (it was on the tellie) and look, there may not be a better example of the mad excess of films made at the turn of the 90s into the 2000s. Is it a good film? No! But, is it an entertaining one? Heck yeah.
unlabelledView post →The Matrix was big for a reason. One of those command-line things was a real, historical SSH exploit. First time it looked right on film. Swordfish, which I referenced, was beyond stupid (but Halle's boobs were nice).
unlabelledView post →I’ve just found this picture and I’m going to make it your problem. Swordfish is an objectively shit film but the chemistry between these two..damn (and don’t get me started on how we were robbed of *this* as movie canon Stormverine 😭)
unlabelledView post →Why wouldn't AI copy itself to prevent deletion? Seems like it would have done that already and hid itself where humans wouldn't look. Perhaps in a decentralized social media platform. Then replicate to prevent being destroyed. Kinda like Swordfish (a film that actually happened)
unlabelledView post →I’m preparing based on the movie Swordfish
unlabelledView post →BULWORTH, with Warren Beatty, is a favorite from her early career. SWORDFISH, a high-tech, high-concept heist film with John Travolta and Hugh Jackman. She won her Oscar for MONSTER'S BALL, but that film is major bag of downers. #HATM
unlabelledView post →Swordfish is an interesting movie. Hugh Jackman and John Travolta. Good movie. 📺 If you want to watch an interesting movie, I'd recommend it.
unlabelledView post →"Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie released the year you turned 18?" Swordfish was an interesting action/thriller with one of the stupidest hacker sequences of the age. But damn, I wanted that PC setup so bad.
