positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game, but its not even updated to be compiled for x64 systems so it crashes anytime the game tries to use ~1.6-2.0+ gigabytes of ram, which for me (64gb) is a LOT, and even the Large Address Aware patch didnt help for some reason not recommended for that sole reason, otherwise you might find it cool
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but there's a weird bug where the US intervenes whenever I invade other countries as Israel. Very immersion breaking. Otherwise, super fun and nostalgiac.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If only there was a modern version of this game but enhanced.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →stick with this super power 3 isa joke
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I started Superpower 2 with three clear goals in mind: Communist Turkey Utter and immediate destruction of Israel Leaving NATO Then I took a look at the starting condition of Turkey. A country that produces nothing other than iron and steel, inflation over 30%, unemployment over 20%, massive public spending due to high population, budget deficit about 90 billion USD, corruption off the charts, and an ethnically fractured country. I realized first and foremost, I needed to transform the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There really isn't much out there like this game, which is a shame because I believe this kind of game would benefit greatly from modern hardware, especially ultra high resolution graphics. Expand on the economics and cultural aspects, expand out the covert ops to perform more actions, etc. Another really, really annoying trait about this game is having all the little tiny provinces and counties mapped out and having to conquer everything individually. When you're dealing with a game designed…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only bought this game to nuke Isreal on stream to my chums, now that its 2025... we have new targets.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never thought I'd say this, but this is even better than 3..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of my favorite games for a variety of reasons, and the best geo-political simulator that I've played to date. The game starts you out in 2001, and allows the player to choose one of the United Nations recognized countries from that year. The player can literally choose any one of those countries, including the micro-states of San Marino, Andorra, and the Holy See. Once the player takes control of a country, it is up to the player on how they manage that nation. Want to play a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game and the only reason I cannot recommend it is because of crashing. Having read reviews, it seems this is a common issue. If you can get past or do not encounter the crashing, then happy gaming! Again, the game is unique and very fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a runtime error frequently occuring to the point where the game is unplayable. According to my google search, the cause is deep in the game. It doesn't clear memory, and has a maximum allocation of 2 Gb. It will soon be "full" and the game will crash. Doesn't matter how much RAM you have. Edit: I don't seem to have this problem anymore. I can now play for hours straight. The game is fun, complicated, though battle is extremely simplified and unrealistic. It's satisfying to take over…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a war game, not a geopolitical one. It's a really advanced adult version of RISK. The concept is intriguing, especially sing the CIA Factbook, but the game does not uphold the promise. Other than preparing for and fighting a war, there isn't anything else that you can do. I was extremely disappointed. However, if you want a game where you can choose any country and try to take over the world without having to worry about anything else, this is most definitely your game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let my Steam playtime fool you, I have invested hundreds of hours in this game before it was added to Steam. It was my first introduction to the Geo-Political genre and I absolutely loved it. Sure there was a learning curve to playing the game but once you realise it's all numbers the game becomes a fun way to rule the world... or atleast the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of your chosing. Love it, still play it and will recommend it to anyone who has that little dictator hiding within.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought it back in 2004. good game but doesnt work on Win 11

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still better then SP3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game, but when you play as a smaller country and buy arms from a larger country, you do not get the correct stats as even though it may be an advanced unit, your own skills get stuck to it rather than the stats you bought it for. Makes buying arms from the US or Russia a waste. Might as well build all your own.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended. I have been stuck playing this game on and off for 20 years. SP3 will be out soon and I cant wait! EDIT: 12/16/2025 Superpower 2 still good. SP3 Not so much. Stick with Super Power 2!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**A Review of *Superpower 2 Steam Edition*** *By Arthur Schopenhauer* It is, by any rational measure, a catastrophe. The maps are static. The economies are a cipher, responsive to no known law of man or nature. The AI conducts itself with the strategic acumen of a drowsing mollusk. Sanctions are applied; nothing changes. Troops are deployed; the border remains stubbornly uncrossed. One adjusts a tax rate, waits, adjusts it again, and the nation—Belgium, perhaps, or Chad—continues its placid,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well this has been sitting in my library for at least 3 years, completely untouched. So the fact that I just played 2.2 hours straight doesn't mean that I have to decide whether to keep it - I'm well past the time to ask for a refund. I avoided playing this because back when it was available in a box, before Steam was around, it had such horrible reviews that I just stayed away from it, but I wondered about it too. The few people who liked it REALLY liked it. Then I decided I'd try to find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Control countries and develop them, and if you so desire, aim for world domination. Even with the smallest of countries like the Vatican. The bulk of the gameplay occurs around a beautifully desiigned 3D Earth globe. Smaller individual state/provinces/etc. and can be individually conquered and annexed. Individual cities are also depicted in the game. The premise is quite entertaining, though it is very simplified. Especially the military side, where there are no logistics and mechanics tend…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chose America turned it into a monarchy told israel to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ annexed Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic planning to invade Cuba next what a good and wholesome game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only wish that there was a more varied and interesting internal law system, and that the party not getting elected didnt immediately give a game over. Otherwise this is all i want from a geopolitical simulator: complex enough that i need to think over what i do but not so complex that everything is overwhelming. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's quite a sticky game, I came across it on the Internet and decided to purchase it. As a result, I immediately stuck for several hours. The gameplay is more or less understandable, the presence of conflict animations, the creation of technology and the development of the state pleases. The genre is quite specific, therefore, only for connoisseurs and fans of strategies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient gem right here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can nuke Venesuela 13/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good game in the mechanics part.. the downsides are its VERY VERY Hard to understand in the beginning. Balancing the budget will leave one yearning for cheat codes of some sort but that adds to the immersion. Another HEAVY downside is the WEAK WEAK WEAK battle animations. This game could be so much better with a better battle simulation.. something like Wargame would be over the top but there are other battle animations that would have worked then what they have in this game. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game that still holds up great today. It is the perfect mix of a global simulation that is not to complicated but deep enough to keep you hooked. Nothing is more fun than taking a smaller country like Zambia, building it up and conquering half the globe against all odds!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game lets me rule the world off of producing and selling drugs while taxing my population for 90% of their income
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was the first game I got on Steam: the reason I got Steam was so I could buy Superpower 2 and Portal. I watched Commissar Bro's videos on the game back in 2014 and saw how interesting it was. For those who play grand strategy games, it's enjoyable from time to time. The gameplay isn't perfect, but mods can help. It might be the most underrated strategy video game ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As good today as it was 19 years ago...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rather than buying this game, I suggest you take that money and throw it into the street. You will still get about the same use out of the game and probably make someone happy in the process.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Golemlabs studio is one of the worst studio in gaming history. They got pulled out of Guild 3, they got pulled out of SP3, promised to work hard on SP3 and never did I'm pretty sure not a single dev will tell their next employer they come from Golemlabs

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It may be a buggy nightmare, but it's all we've got! Hopefully a Superpower 4 comes around that roughs a few of the edges, I've heard Superpower 3 is straight trash. Sad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SuperPower 2 was a very influential game back when it was released in 2004. It should be regarded as one of the cornerstones of the modern political and grand strategy game genre. However, it hasn't aged well. This game is great for 2004, and if you want a bit of old political strategy fun, then play it. It does that well. However, if you are looking for a very diverse game, look for newer fare. This game, while advanced, still lacks behind modern political games. It plays like a game from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play this instead of Superpower 3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome Game. Just hate the 2050 glitch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They spent more time converting it to Steam and adding some cheap gameplay features than just fixing the game-breaking bugs. You cannot conquer the world without an error eventually breaking your save. And it is not compatible with Windows 11 or above unless you do some manual patchwork.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is nothing quite like it.
