The most satisfying part of the game is learning how to move around in my opinion, as you need to control 2 hurtboxes with deep controls and possibilities. Now let's talk about why it shouldn't be approached like traditional bullet hells. So first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never was a big fan of bullet hells but this game really hits the spot thanks to its originality and its learning curve ! The game feel is awesome, the art style and music are really nice and a huge amount of care has been brought to every aspect. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The learning curve is a bit steep, but when it clicks, it works! Sound design is on point. Overall a nice diskovery.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer : I'm a friend of half the dev team (read : one person). Although my review is trying to be objective, this should be known beforehand I guess. Super reaKtor describes itself as a bullet hell focused on difficulty, which is true but also misleading. It's equally important to note that it does not describe itself as a shoot 'em up, which might be a natural assumption when reading bullet hell and seeing screenshots and trailer looking the part. For the most part, the game is about…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to learn, hard to master, and quite satisfying!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first levels of the game are exactly the right difficulty to put me "in the zone" where time seems to slow down and I feel like I can see the entire screen at once; the visual effects are very rewarding while remaining clearly readable (I never take damage without understanding why). I'm not used to games of this genre, but the tutorial and the ability to practice each pattern separately in a safe environment help a lot! And as a collector, the element completion chart makes me want to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally after years of waiting hypercharged action is upon us, with their triskels, tricky patterns and very satisfying gameplay, if you're up for the challenge. For this price, it's a bargain !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't expect much from the game but I got the opportunity to play it during the release party and fell in love. It's fast and addictive, the gameplay is fun and interesting, the many patterns are a delight and the music accompanying the whole is excellent. Warmly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be a banger in a 90s arcade's room. If you like games that test your dexterity, that's an easy buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shmup fun refined to its pure essence! The flow of the game is amazing, and the bullet hell patterns are presented in a very intuitive way. At all times, the visual feedbacks communicate what's coming your way, making it fair to tackle any new pattern for the first time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are really hard to grasp at first, as in addition to controlling your position (which is already 90% of the skillset required in a shmups), you also have to change your size and rotate. That's why a controller is recommended as using a keyboard would require way too many keypresses. The patterns are creative and the pacing is fast, so when you can master a wave it's really satisfying. The game is really difficult (as in, you will die over and over) but so lives/continue/retry…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like tryhard games then this is for you. The difficulty curve start quite low so that everyone can play, but the skill ceiling is also very high. It's a must have for that price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a huge Super Hexagon fan, Super Reaktor was basically made for me. It’s just a bit more challenging (with the two hurtboxes) and harder to control. But once you get the hang of it, you slip right into the flow. Cool music! Super cool effects! (Looking forward to a VJ version ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great sub 5$ game, I'm so glad it came out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is genuinely "SUPER"!!! It is incredibly rewarding when you finally grasp what the game is asking of you (the pattern). I'm not usually a fan of "bullet hell" type games, but I have to admit this one has me really hooked. After a few tries, you manage to unlock all the modes to discover new things. It's super polished, the music is catchy, you can really tell it was made with love. I absolutely love the completion system; it constantly makes you want to start another run.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In between rythm'n games and danmaku, Super ReaKtor is a hell of fun, made with passion a probably a bit of sadism. And yet I cannot stop starting and starting again after every game over... A must try and an absolute must buy! And I'm absolutely delighted that the creator made is working on MacOs!! Thank you Sir!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played a lot of this game on festivals. It's a great arcade game with excellent controls, frenetic visuals and gameplay that instantly bring into a flow state. Highly recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really cool bullet hell, the difficulty is progressive and changes from usual bullet hells as your ship has two weaknesses and one part that absorbs projectiles, go play the demo, you'll know if you like it, there are more difficult levels in the full game and a few more gamemodes are available(all are still bullet hells, there are variations mainly in the difficulty) there is also a practice mode for the paterns you've already encountered, and you can make squences of up to 8 paterns(at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super hardcore, hypnotic, trance-inducing, game where you need to use 100% of your brain to bob and weave bad, purple shapes while collecting good, green shapes. It's better than it looked from the store page imo
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you're into bullet hell shmups and you want to sweat your balls with fresh mechanics and beautiful bullet patterns, this is for you. second level is already gonna filter you hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not used to twin-stick action so it's a quite challenging but fun game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, fun to play. It might take some time to rewire the brain (and fingers) to play this the right way but it is so satisfying once you do so !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast fun and hard ! This game is insane ! if you like challenge You're in for a treat!! love the attention given to every details : the controls and the training mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best bullet hells I’ve ever played because it’s unique, and the fact I don’t need to shoot anything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super Reaktor is the secret child of Kuru Kuru Kururin and DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou: a fusion of Bullet Hell and spinning stuff. It’s intense, it’s spinning, and everything is constantly exploding to the rhythm of a banger soundtrack that puts you right in "the zone". It’s definitely in that hard to play, hard to master category. But the cool part is how well the game holds your hand to teach you the ins and outs. Between the Diskovery mode and the periodic table of patterns, it really makes you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Arcade-game nailing the focus on both survavibility and scoring. The randomness from a pool of patterns at each step in the main modes ensures a lot of replayability. Its difficulty paces up quickly, but with Training Mode (and patience) everything can become manageable).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, like a reverse bullet hell. After you learn the controls you feel like a dancer, weaving around the screen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the definition of "easy to learn, hard to master" : simple controls, nice difficulty progression throught the game. OST hits hard in your brain. game really is a gem. go get it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super Reaktor is a game with unique mechanics and diverse content. If you're looking to play the game just to finish it, there are several difficulty levels to give you a progressive experience. If you're looking to play for scoring, the system is interesting. You're stuck on a pattern or want to practice all the possible ones in a level? No problem, there's a training mode, and you can even slow down the speed of the patterns to help you read/execute them gradually! For the price, it's an…
