This movie is ALMOST NEVER available and slaps so hard it'll hurt your mama. A must see for any Sci-fi/Cyberpunk/Neo-Noir fan. Such a great fucking movie. LET'S FUCKING GOOOO!
unlabelledView post →Kicked off 2025 right with STRANGE DAYS, a Kathryn Bigalow New Years Eve movie that is mysteriously hard to find but fucks as hard as it did in 1995. Such a great dystopian noir and worth seeking out. Weirdly, its biggest impact is the sample used for Fatboy Slim’s RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. Incredible.

unlabelledView post →Ok Taylor and I are rewatching cyberpunk movies from the 80s and 90s as a theme, and we just watched Strange Days, a movie I hadn't seen since literally the 90s. I remember liking it, before being a filmmaker and before I was an adult, but my god is this a terrific film, and I wanna talk about it. >

unlabelledView post →Wildly disagree with the idea that Bigelow’s output got better instead of actively worse following Strange Days. Near Dark is the best movie she ever did.

unlabelledView post →I've been seeing a lot of people I know talk about watching Strange Days for the first time recently, which keeps making me think about one of my favorite parts of the film, which I also can't talk about publicly because it's an extremely underseen movie and I don't want to give it away
unlabelledView post →FINALLY watched Strange Days (1995). (Whistles) 90s VR Cyberpunk at its most dirtiest and grittiest. Hard Sci-Fi that hits harder nowadays for a lot of reasons. THIS is BOTH the James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow that I want more of: Pure action junkies with an edge. SQUID!!
unlabelledView post →Tonight's movie was Strange Days, a great watch all around but also because it's an opportunity to catch Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Lewis, and Vincent D'Onofrio at the absolute peak of their beauty.
unlabelledView post →The correct movie to watch on New Year’s Eve is Strange Days and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.
unlabelledView post →Rewatching Strange Days, which I remember really enjoying at the time (I was 15, ha ha). Somehow blocked out all the male gaze snuff porn. Why DID EVERYONE have to watch the snuff film?? And why is Angela Bassett babysitting this guy?? The 90s felt like height of the "fuck up man-boy" genre.

unlabelledView post →I wish I enjoyed Strange Days more, no film looks like it, but I find it to be lurid and reactionary in a way that lines up with Bigelow's later work. She lingers on a scene of assault in a banal, tortured way. Anyway this shot of a raver and a soldier kissing is a very funny omen for her career.
unlabelledView post →Nobody's ever done a better cyberpunk protagonist on film than Ralph Fiennes in Strange Days (1995). If your main guy is actually cool, you messed up. You need a wet little sleaze ball. You need a poor little meow meow.
unlabelledView post →He's terrifying as shit in Kathryn Bigelow's surprisingly prescient 1995 film STRANGE DAYS.

Need to watch both again. > eXistenZ is a 1999 science fiction horror film written, produced and directed by David Cronenberg. The film follows Allegra Geller (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a game designer who becomes the target of assassins while playing a virtual reality game of her own creation. unlabelledView post →4: Strange Days (1995). One of the most underappreciated movies of the '90s. Kathryn Bigelow directs the hell out of this sci-fi thriller; Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett & Juliette Lewis lead a stellar cast. A very grounded sort of dystopian film with Fiennes playing one of my favorite antiheroes.
