Moore won a Best Actress Oscar, BAFTA, SAG & Golden Globe for this sensitive portrait of a professor (and her family) dealing with early onset Alzheimer. Rewatch. #filmsky 📽

unlabelledView post →I didn't take a picture but I swear the other day on Netflix the movie Still Alice was under Crowd Pleasers
unlabelledView post →Still Alice the book it the most haunting piece of literature I have ever read and Julianne's performance as Alice is absolutely the best of the last 25 years. a movie and book i could only watch/read once.
unlabelledView post →Both my parents died with dementia. It’s horrible. The film, Still Alice, came out while my mum was in the early stages and made me decide that I too should have an escape plan. Also - give away (to good causes, your kids, whoever) as much as you can as soon as you can. Better for them and for you.
unlabelledView post →He described a dementia test to the whole world! 🙄Millions of people know and /or care for people who have dementia. The movie “Still Alice” highlights the progression and tests for a person with dementia. Infuriating that he is being allowed to stay in power. 🤬 I can’t wait for that Epstein bomb.
unlabelledView post →Gonna check it out, thanks! As a somewhat unrelated aside, the movie "Still Alice" is a superb portrayal of the prices of the disease in its early onset variant. I was only able to watch it once and never could again, though. It guts me to even think about watching it.
unlabelledView post →Wait, the #Heartstopper movie is directed by Wash Westmoreland, of Collette and Still Alice fame?! Now I'm (even more) excited 🤩
unlabelledView post →Today’s choice for Sad Film Lunch Hour: Still Alice (2014). Based on the book of the same name by Lisa Genova
unlabelledView post →Has anyone else seen this movie? "Still Alice" is about the progression of early onset dementia. It's a tough watch and it is VERY GOOD youtube.com/shorts/IqaOi...
unlabelledView post →Watched the movie Still Alice with Julianne Moore. It's about Alzheimer's disease, terribly depressing, yet didn't come close to how bad the situation is in real life.
unlabelledView post →You know, it would probably be something like The Diving Bell and Butterfly or Sound of Metal or Still Alice or One Week. So, a road movie with a killer soundtrack that slowly fades to just a constant low-grade tinnitus ring and the trippiest dreams fighting a banal, slow-mo reality.
unlabelledView post →I loved him in Beginners. Also another I can never watch again is Still Alice. Great movie, but way too close to home for me at the time, and I’m sure millions of others.
unlabelledView post →She was great in Still Alice. Sad but great movie.
unlabelledView post →Film, Still Alice, brings the issue of early-onset dementia. This real-life story about how Alice H., a linguistics professor at Columbia, & her family deal with her diagnosis of familial Alzheimer’s. Many people get to see close-up what it’s like to be an Alzheimer’s patient, as well as a caregiver
unlabelledView post →The last film I properly sobbed at was Still Alice and I want to watch that Colin Firth/Stanley Tucci movie but given that probably my biggest fear is developing Alzheimer’s like my grandmother I figure I’d better not
unlabelledView post →You are thinking about Still Alice, a brilliant book. Film was also excellent, starred Julianne Moore and Alec Baldwin. I need to get a copy of this one which I haven’t read yet.
unlabelledView post →This is the exact plot & intent of the movie "Still Alice" and it doesn't end well.
unlabelledView post →Richard Glatzer, personal and professional partner of Wash Westmoreland, also died too young at 63 in 2015. Their last film, Still Alice, resulted in an Oscar for Julianne Moore. The material hits too close to home, so I haven't watched it yet. (Among my mom's effects, I found a copy of the book.)
unlabelledView post →Or does Madigan actually pull it out despite no other nominations for her film? Last time someone did that was Julianne Moore for "Still Alice" 11 years ago. I'd personally vote for Madigan in this category by a mile, but I'd feel more confident about her if "Weapons" got into Picture or Casting.
unlabelledView post →yep. Still Alice (the book, the movie, Julianne's performance) is the most haunting piece of art i have interacted with in my life.
unlabelledView post →A very inspiring review. I remember on the same topic the (movie from the) novel Still Alice (2007) by Lisa Genova. i find it interesting how both authors chose their (early onset dementia affected) main character as their own gender.
unlabelledView post →Strong disagree. She's very good in stuff like Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice, Personal Shopper, Crimes of the Future, The Runaways, Adventureland, and - while I didn't enjoy the movie - Spencer. Twilight and Snow White did not showcase her skills. At all.
unlabelledView post →The movie is called "Still Alice". Its about a university professor who is diagnosed with early onset dementia. It is a vicious form of the disease. It is her story/journey thru this disease.

unlabelledView post →'Still Alice' is a 2014 movie that follows an academic diagnosed with Alzheimer's. As her mind fades, people's true colours show. The movie highlights a common trait in human relationships - when the going gets tough, the "sunshine" folk head for the exit, only a few empaths stay.
unlabelledView post →Could Julianne Moore be a part of that rarified category of repeat Oscar winner, propelled by the notion that the first Oscar was for career achievement but this time is actually really good? (FWIW, I think she’s deserving for Still Alice but not everyone agrees.)
unlabelledView post →Best Actress nominee doesn’t have to come from a widely adored or respected movie though, right? The Wife, Still Alice, The Iron Lady, Nyad, Blonde, Being the Ricardos, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, The United States v Billie Holiday, Judy, Harriet, Joy…

unlabelledView post →Of course it is possible to fake dementia. It's called "acting". Stanley Tucci did it in the film "Supernova" (2020). Other films: "Second Spring" (2018), "It Snows All the Time" (2020). Similarly, "Still Alice" (2014) about Alzheimer's. bsky.app/profile/idio...

unlabelledView post →Okay. I’ve tried octopus both cooked and raw and I’m just never doing that ever again. Still Alice. Amazing performances throughout, especially from Julianne Moore and Kristen Stewart but that film wrecked me. “Disarm” by The Smashing Pumpkins. Love SP but despise that tune.

It’s called ‘Still Alice’ and stars Julianne Moore who plays a linguist who loses her ability to speak. Heartbreaking. That’s what i see when i hear Trump speak. Tick tock. ⏰

unlabelledView post →At the ripe old age of fifty, renowned American linguist “Alice” (Julianne Moore) is at the top of her game and looking forward to a married life with three grown up children and a grand-child. Then she starts noticing that she is becoming a little forgetful. Those climbing the stairs then forgetting why you went up in the first place moments start to become more regular. She can’t recall the words for her lectures and presentations, indeed she can’t always even recall the topic she is supposed…
